For a quart I use 3 Tbs., so I would use 1 Tbs. for your 10 ounces.. Glad it made a difference for you.

I was down to 149..but I think I'll have to take a gain this month. Brett being home and I'm cooking more food and eating more food..Not good for this kid.

Did my exercise today, tomorrow I will tackle the kettle bell DVD.

I'm busy tomorrow, LOL

Yes, I would love a good recipe for LC ice cream, I have the freezer.
Went to 2 movies yesterday, could not decide which to see, so went to one, then ran to the nearby walmart and back for the 2nd. Saw Takers first, good action robbery movie and then went to Get Low with Robert Duvall, which was quite good. A very lazy day for me, ddin't even clean up the kitchen, or pick up the house. Good Monday job, straighten the house and get organized in the office, oh, and always that little bit of laundry that hangs around here.
Our heat is back as well, boy, those few cooler days sure felt good. But, our extreme heat is surely over for the year.
I can't believe Sept. is here already. I want time to slow down, please.....
We couldn't survive without our Garmins, of course DH travels a lot and it is invaluable for that but I also use it quite a bit just around Dallas, it is very comforting to know that I can plug that in and it will guide me whereever I need to go. And yes, my lady has to "recalculate" a lot too, LOL.
So far the only thing on my calendar this week is a haircut on Thurs. and I am needing that. Short hairstyles have to be kept in check to be easy to fix.

I met Cindy this a.m. in the grocery store parking lot (and she looks fabulous!!) and I felt like I had an early Christmas. Wow! She gave me so many goodies I don't even know where to start. I guess I better go study the recipe threads especially Kevinpa's. It'll be nice to experiment baking new stuff as soon as this heat leaves for good.

I did turn on my oven to bake my bacon though. I loved my BLT salad so much yesterday I just had to have another today. And it's yummy.

I was a little down today but not much. I did dip just below the 150 mark though so maybe I'll show a loss, for a change, this month.

I'll weigh neked tomorrow while standing very tall (I know it doesnt help! LOL), in hopes to have seen a loss. I had not lost anything at the Drs at last visit. HOT and humid in Omaha today. I wish i could get the desire to exercise but it seems so many kinds make my bones ache! I used to walk miles!

This is the way I've been making my small batch of ice cream for my new little Half Pint freezer.

10-12 oz half & half
1/4 cup splenda
1 egg
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 T. glycerine
Shake or blend well and chill.

Pour into well frozen ice cream freezer bowl that has been sprayed with Pam and churn for 6-12 minutes until smooth, frozen and creamy. It's so good!! My freezer is the Hamilton Beach Half Pint individual ice cream freezer. It's very cute and comes with 2 bowls to freeze so you can actually make 2 pretty good size servings in a pretty short time period. I've put 10-12 oz at a time in one bowl and it's worked fine. Maybe you're only supposed to put 8 oz in at a time since it's called Half Pint but I've pushed that amount. Very yummy!

Thanks Sandy, that sounds so good. And the Pam idea is needed for my machine as well, never thought of that.

Yes, hang on to something when you weigh, you must do this, we cannot afford any nasty falls now.

And, I am still busy tomorrow,

Akk..I'm sure I will have a gain for this month unless the whoosh fairy performs a miracle overnight..Yes, I would love to hang on to something, too.

That ice cream recipe is basically the one I use except I do 3 cups of cream and one cup of LC milk. I did use some Mexican cream in a can last time..very good.

Luncheon tomorrow with my Bible Study ladies..I think there will be 12 of us..We are trying the new Mexican restaurant..I hope we don't overwhelm them...I'm not eating any chips..not..

It's hot again here and through the week..

I was the same this a.m. But Cindy, I really think I'd rather show a gain for the month than do a dreaded bowel prep! I HATE them!!!

I sure hope I show more of a loss for in the morning. I always weigh on the first, not the last day of the month for our official entry, lol.

I began this month at 118.8.
I'm now - *drumroll*

117.2!!!!!!!!

I lost 1.6!

I think I started the summer in June at 122.6, so a grand summer total of 5.4!!

This is so much better than last summer!

*happy dance*

Morning.
Wow, MK, you have done extremely well this summer, we are soooo proud of you!!! All that walking certainly has paid off for you, and btw, I love the dress you have on in your picture.
Cindy, congrats to you for maintaining.
I swear, the minute I mentioned to you gals last week that I had lost a couple of lbs, they found me and brought a couple of friends. My appetite suddenly doubled and all I wanted to do was eat. I jinxed myself, I swear.
MK, I am always busy on weigh in day, haven't you noticed
Thought I had a hair cut appt. on Fri. but when I really looked at my calendar I see it is Thurs. so I need to schedule a mani/pedi that day as well, they are getting too long and unkept looking as well.
82 here now, not sure what our high is supposed to be today.

No such luck, weight is still the same. I knew this month was going to be difficult, almost a self-fulfilling prophecy! But no gain is a good thing, too, especially being on so much insulin. Good for you Mary Kay!! Touch my hand for good luck, hopefully Sept will be more productive!

Good morning..

I gained a pound this month..actually I was up more than that, but whittled it down to 148.0 this morning..No big surprise, but I have my eating under control now.

Cindy: Yes, you look wonderful and would blow away if you lost any more weight..

Mary Kay: That is incredible...so proud of you for losing 5.4 pounds over the summer..What was your secret????

Buffy: You are always busy always...which is a good thing It will come off when it wants to..

Sandy: I'm sure you will be down in the a.m...

Brett didn't get the OKCity job.. But, finally they let him know...we are ever hopeful for the Garmin job..

Carolyn, with fall fast approaching, Im determined to get my eating under control BEFORE I start baking stuff. Daughter and I have refigured our grocery list for this month in hopes to do better in Sept. Im sad the only loss I had was in Phoenix and i think that was mostly dehydration. I know I can do better. Darn ice cream.

You're very welcome Susie. I hope you like it.

Carolyn, I hope Brett's not too disappointed. I'm sure God has something better in store for him.

I tried those new type of noodles tonight and liked them. I already forgot the name, lol. They're made by Wildwood I believe and are not shirataki type. They're really pretty tasteless and not much smell at all. I did rinse them and heated them up by just putting them in hot tap water. Our tap water is extra hot! They're a good vehicle to carry the spaghetti sauce to my mouth, lol. Our local HyVee carries them. In fact they have a great health/specialty food dept. for anybody who lives by one.

I haven't been doing ****** this week and am afraid I'm eating too many carbs. If I am, they're all veggie carbs so I hope they won't hurt me too much. We have another hard weekend coming up with lots of food challenges in it. Of course.

MK, woohoooo girl!!! What are you doing this summer to lose so much?? I want your secret.

Carolyn - so sorry for Brett! But I'm sure his job is coming!
Around here we've had 1 teaching job have 300 applicants!
It's scary for everyone!

I wish I knew the magic formula for weight loss AND i hope i can keep it off when Fall and Winter come around.

All I've done is walk 5+ miles every day and try to watch what i eat.
Maybe it's been so hot I haven't eaten as much?!

I know the big loss came when we were in SC and everyone was making things with cheese every night.
If it was too hard to make myself something different, I just didn't eat and walked in the hot sun instead.
But I've been eating normally since i came home.
so . . . . ??

Cheers to a new month tomorrow (new thread, right?) and weight loss for everyone!
