Hi..

Yup, we got it straightened out..We were supposed to FAX it, but it said in the instructions to mail it..So, we faxed them the 3rd copy and it's all taken care of..LOL..It's always best to talk to a person at the IRS.

Oh...those Food Porn pictures make me hungry.

Linda: Gosh..you will be opening Duck World soon.. How's Calvin doing??

One time we went to CA and that water was COLD..like Maine. But, you expect CA water..the Pacific to be nice and warm..no..Have fun, Sandy..Yes, you are avoiding the heat wave.

CAT is a good company..I'm not sure if Brett applied there or not.

dh is coming home at midnight..His plane gets in at 10 to Tulsa and someone from the company will pick him up..I never have to do it..Good deal.

Sent 3 kids off to move DD26 out of her apartment and back here.
It only took putting 2 new tires on DS21's car and an oil change.
Then taking all of them out to lunch.
I'm broke.
But they're all doing something constructive!

DD23 also sent me my bday present early!!!

Most of her stuff is going into storage with my mom's - the rest is going into a downstairs bedroom that used to be an exercise room!

See you all later!

Morning girls! A T-storm moved thru at 5:30a.m. and woke me up early. I simply cant believe how hot and humid it is already! D31 and my SIL (Mason City Ia)are taking a quick trip into Omaha tomorrow and Sun, she misses us so badly. We were supposed to meet them in DesMoines last weekend but the Bells Palsy thing hit. Next weekend we fly to Phoenix and the weekend after Misty & hubs head across lake Michigan on a ferry (catch it in Wis), to a Family reunion in Michigan. So this weekend we will visit fast & hard.

MK, my front door is a revolving one. I have yet been able to use empty rooms to make them into what I want. Im about to charge for storage.

Hi ladies,

We had a big adventure yesterday..The old pickup died on the way up to Manhattan..Luckily, it died next to a hospital and we managed to get it out of the way under the tree..We are talking tiny town and a Saturday afternoon..So, dh called a tower who happened to be in and he came with his big flatbed tower and then hitched the U-haul in the back..Well, we thought it was the fuel pump, but dh remembered that
he had Larry, Darrell and Darrell put in a new one last year..Well, guess what??? They
forgot to change the filter, so it was full of junkkkkkk..So, the tower/mechanic fixed it in
30 minutes and we got here about 6, took 5 boys out for Mexican and got a good night's
sleep. God is good and his angels were working overtime yesterday..Only cost $300, but we will get some of that back from towing insurance.

Today is breakfast with Brett and loading up his stuff..I brought a whole roll of trash bags to donate to the apartment for cleaning up. They have to have the final inspection
this Saturday..LOL..

Have a great day everyone..

Omg what an adventure! We use AAA and it is $80 for 2 vehicles per year. Free jumps, tows (within 100 miles) heck they will even bring you gas! We have gotten out moneys worth each year we have had AAA. Was it really hot down there? You could die out there in that heat waiting for a tow. Omaha finally cooled off this weekend.

Ok D31 and her hubby are taking us out to eat. They came into town for a quick visit! Have a good Sunday everyone!

I'm back!!! We got back very late Sat. night and then Sun. just flew by. I still feel like I don't have a lot of time to play yet but I did want to let you all know I was back and we had a wonderful time. It was a little cool but after coming back to this, I'm already missing that.

Cindy and Lisa, love the pic of your meet-up. Cindy, you must've really been scared to meet 2 of us at once when you came to meet me and Carolyn, huh? It is a little scary meeting people from message boards but we've gotten to know a lot of people on travel boards that way and it's been fun. You almost feel like you know them before you ever see them. We always joke too though about the first ones we met being serial killers. I wouldn't give out any personal info at all until we'd actually met in person, lol. They are the nicest people though.

I really need to get back on track on eating starting now!

I'm all caught up on the posts on this thread so at least I'm making progress, lol. Oh, and the laundry is done. I need to go spend some time with my dad now and get some groceries.

I'll TTYL

Hi gals..

Well, there was a second chapter to our story..We made it out of Manhattan about 3:30 and loaded down with B's stuff..Got about 20 miles from home and made a pitstop at a rest area..Pick up wouldn't start..AGAIN..So, we called our home town towtruck, who
hitched us up again..and pickup is at the hospital and Uhaul is in our yard ready to be unloaded when Brett stops by after his OKCity interview tomorrow. I reminded him that
his dad was "old" and he needed to help.. Anyway, another $235 later..So, I took my
receipts to the insurance company, so we will see what they will pay..Anything is a good thing..

Loved that picture of Cindy and Lisa..You both looked so healthy..

Sandy: Welcome back..glad you had a super time and enjoyed some relief from the
hotness in KS.

Akk..annual physical this afternoon..New doctor in town..She's a woman who just graduated from KU med..I don't have her do my hormones or thyroid, but everything else.

That's what you get for using "Anything for a Buck" mechanics Looks like inflation has changed that to "Anything for $300 Bucks" though

(I miss Newhart. I need to get the series on DVD )

Hello everyone!
Great picture Cindy, you both are tall, blonde and beautiful.
Carolyn, sorry about all the mishaps with the truck, must have been One Buck Chuck who fixed it first, LOL.
Sandy, welcome home.
MK, my head spins at your kids moving in and out, I don't know how you keep up with who is living there at any given time, haha.
Great to see you Wifezilla, and hear about all the little duckies in the family.

Hi Lisa and Susan, and whoever else I might be missing, I know I am.

Had a busy weekend and am a little tired today. Woke up at 2:00 and surfed until 5:00, then went back to bed but have felt tired all day. I did get outside for a little while, pulled some weeds and took a short walk. I really want to start walking again, I really need to do that.
Finally got done reading Plan D and am starting to put it into practice. Basically, nonprocessed foods, lots of veggies, 3 fruits a day, lean protein, but good fats like butter, olive oil and coconut oil. Can have sprouted grain products which is kind of nice, so for lunch I had tuna salad on Ezekiel bread which I toasted, very tasty. Last night I made a taco soup with lots of beans, since legumes are high on her list. Anyway, will give it a whirl, you girls know I am not very good at following anything for long, so let's hope I give this a decent chance and it works with my diabetes and my meds. One problem is that you are supposed to eat more than I am hungry for, especially with it being so hot. Didn't think I would ever say that. I am looking at getting a Vitamix so that I can juice some of the veggies and drink some instead of eating the huge amounts she recommends. She says that isn't as good but I would still be getting them down.
Do any of you own a vitamix? They look like wonderful machines, just wish they weren't so pricey.
DD#2 and the 2 little ones are coming out to visit in a little while, then we will go see DD#3 and the new kitten. The little ones will love the kitty.

I tell ya girls, Lisa 46 has lost 40 pounds in a year just balancing her thyroid.....just sayin'. She's tiny! This pic doesn't do her justice. She loves it and she feels a lot better.

Buffy, I don't have a Vitamix but I keep thinking I should as I hear that blending the raw veggies breaks them down so you don't get the intestinal discomfort of too much raw.

I have a blend tec and I think it is the most precious appliance I own. I was sold on it after watching the you tube videos will it blend. the vitamix has a 'pusher' which could be useful if you are making nut butters etc.

Dear heavens, will someone make that picture smaller?

I love you gals--this is the first time in my entire life that I have been called both tall and tiny!!!

Cindy has some stories to tell and I was fascinated listening to them...anyone eavesdropping on our conversation must have thought we ran either a lab or a pharmacy with all our TSH, FT3 and Estrogen discussions.

I'll tell you, Cin is one of the most beautiful gals I have met, both inside and out and I consider myself pretty darn fortunate to have made a friend like her via this board.

My journey to better health began on this board and there are girls here who I literally will say saved my life--Cin is one of them!

Thanks for the compliments ladies!!! They have SO made my day!

Good morning everyone.

Brett has his big interview today in OKCity.. A man was picking him up at the hotel and having breakfast with him at 7, so it will be a busy morning..He will stop by here on his way back to Manhattan to finish cleaning the apartment..

Where is our cool weather??? Although it's 72 right now.

Hope everyone is having a good day..Off to exercise, then lunch with my Bible Study ladies, then BS, then home to cook for Brett.

Morning folks,

Carolyn, Oklahoma city is quite a place! Sometimes when I fly to Denver to visit my sister, my flights are cheaper if I get routed thru Okcity. Looks HUGE from the sky.
It is 77 here in Omaha. Going to be sticky here too! Hubby and son 13 and son 19 are helping complete the fence at son 27's house.

Son 15 broke his glasses, the eye glass place couldnt replace the frame so we're headed out for an annual exam and new specks. He was due for new ones anyway.

Grilled Kielbasa for supper tonight. Have a wonderful tuesday everyone!

Morning!
Susie, how many sons do you have? I counted 4 in just this past post. Any daughters?

Had fun with my 2 youngest grandbabies yesterday but they quickly tire me out, and I just wasn't feeling the best yesterday.

I scored a vitamix on ebay yesterday, saved myself about $175 over retail, so hopefully, it is as described, brand new in an open box.

No processed food yesterday and had a green drink with dinner last night to get some of the dark green veggies down. I did not nearly check off all the boxes of things I was supposed to eat, and it is fairly high fat. Calls for 4 portions of coconut oil a day, 4 portions of Omega 3 oils and 4 portions of beneficial fats and oils. 4 cups of veggies daily, 3 fruits, 2 legumes, 4 beneficial carbs and 8 oz of high quality protein. Plus all the water, lemon water and vinegar and water tonic, I got thru about half of it but didn't slip and eat anything I shouldn't and was very full and satisfied.

Wow Buffy, that does sound like a lot of fat. What's a serving size? It does sound like a very satisfying way to eat though. I sure need to find something to get me re-motivated.

I'm going to try to get to the pool today and catch up with all my pool pals. And it's going to be very hot again so I'm sure it'll feel great!

Good luck to Brett on his interview.

Sandy, the book isn't the best on being specific but on the fats it is broken down into Coconut oil, omegas, and like flaxseed and in looking back at the book, I think a combination of all of them to 4 servings a day, so I was wrong on that. I don't think more is frowned on though except for calorie counts. I think this is the first book she has written, she has a couple of cookbooks, but it isn't laid out the best. Main thing I am taking from it is to get off artificial sweetners, go whole grain/sprouted and non-processed and organic when possible. At least that is what I am aiming for, something that will be healthier than the WOE I have been on, which is just mish mash, and works with my diabetic meds. Without the good, complex carbs, my blood sugar gets way too low on regular low carb.

Yes, Carolyn, let us know how Brett's interview goes.
