Morning!

Today I'm staying at home and trying to find the house after being away for the weekend - why can't anyone put away a dish, pick up their mess . . . .

Hi..

Cindy: Lisa looks like a really nice gal... And, Lisa, welcome to our group..and
Cindy is a long tall blonde fun gal..

Buffy: I'm glad you changed meds that are only once a day..Maybe that will work really well for you..

Judy: Yup..for most maturish women 10 times their body weight is a good place to start for maintenance..OR 10 times their desired body weight for weight loss.. If a person wanted to weigh 120, they could eat 1200 calories..It's a simple calculation and always adjustable to each body.

MK: Unfortunately, I didn't train my kids very well at home..But after they have been on their own, they are much more helpful..This is a good thing.

Did Sandy leave already? Hope she has a great time.

Hello gals! Happy Monday! Had a COOL and restful weekend. Feel recharged and ready to tackle anything. Carolyn, no CPAP yet but then again hubby goes to the VA and they tend to be slow. The prednisone is certainly relieving all the lung swelling/inflammation which I think makes him sleep better. But he cant live on a steroid forever, hate for when he goes off it.

Interesting thing about maintenance calories. I want to be 130 eventually and I honestly can see myself eating 1300 forever. Seems very doable.

Heading with DD to take some bags to Goodwill. Nice and breezy and not too hot today. Ahhhhhh!

Hi..

Susie: Nice and breezy? We want that. I'm sure the VA is very slow..it's the government.

Have a WW visit at 5:30..Then I can come home and watch The Bachelorette.. and knit.

Hi everybody, thanks Carolyn & Susie for the input on that calorie/weight relation. How have I lived all these years on a diet and never ever heard that? (today I got it down to 1800 but that's because my miracle noodles came, yum! and for dinner, I had the first slice of the Low Carb Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake, and mistook it for 8 servings instead of 16. So, an 840 calorie dinner(319 for 1/16th of the cake), . I'm so happy to be here!

YES Susie, nice and breezy would have been nice. Had to go to DC to play a gig this afternoon, our car said it was 97 degrees! Everybody was soaking wet from sweat coming into the gig. We drove, the other 2 took the subway - we couldn't cause dh's string bass might get damaged in the train. I can't wait to be back to a weight that allows me to walk long distances and run down the street! I had to lug the bass up into the building & thru security and then up the elevator. It's huge and weighs hmmm - not as much as I want to lose

Aw, thanks CarolynF! I ride a motorcycle and have tattoo's, but I'm still a wee bit removed from full-on serial killer mode. I promise you guys I'll be on my best behaviour when I meet up with your long tall blonde fun gal. Just how long and tall IS she by the way? I'm kinda short and stubby...

Have to admit, I know nothing about your WOE in this thread. I just know that y'all seem to have a LOT of fun. And you are kind to welcome me in here. I eat VLC for the most part and have had some recent success in removing weight and getting my thyroid and sex hormones balanced out. So I'm living the LC dream right now!!!

JJ, those cheesecakes are so worth it! Nut crusts and delish!! Im glad you like those noodles, too! I have them for lunch everyday and my calories NEVER top 250 for the entire bag! I usually end up eating 1/2 then and the rest later. Have you guys cooled off where you live? Omaha had a nice day yesterday but by 6pm you could feel all the heat and humidity move in.

Judy: Wow, you are a musician? How great is that..My dd played the bass for a while..It took up half the car when I transported her..I see that DC is hot, too..

Hi to everyone else...off to Bible Study, then maybe a dip in my pool. My inflated chair was deflated this morning.. Hmmm..maybe the neighborhood dog got ahold of it.

Hi all!

No I haven't gone to the dark side and started eating fruit loops and drinking Pepsi
Just been busy with my ducks, quail and garden. We ended up with 14 baby ducks this spring! We are keeping 3 and all the rest got new homes.

Haven't lost weight in forever, but my blood pressure is still awesome and I feel great so I know I am doing the right thing.

I saw this today and thought of Carolyn for some reason

LMAO Cindy! You better clarify that...it is FOOD porn! Look for a new one, I made Peanut Butter Pork loin for supper.

Wifezilla, that is an adorable little corn eater!

Big storms moved thru last night and I didnt get much sleep. Got a nap and think I can make it til 10pm. D29 came over with grandaughter for coffee at 4pm, stayed for supper and they just left. Really a pretty nice and uneventful day!

Enjoy your evening everyone!

AKKK..Linda..you have returned with that darling nomming kitteh.. And you are a prolific duck breeder, too..

Cindy: Did I miss the pancake recipe from Susie??? I know how YOU love those pancakes..

MK: Sorry about your favorite bartender..Hopefully, he is moving up in the world..

My pool was hot today..I had to bail and add some cold water. I'm thinking a bag of ice cubes would really help..

Thank you Cindy, I missed Carolyns Q! Carolyn, cook em on a well greased pan and do not flip til the whole top is covered with bubbles. I just posted my protein cookie photo over on the Food Porn site. I do not know how to get the link in here? Cindy, maybe youre more computer-able than I am and can you post the link?

Only have 3 boys here today so we're all headed out to Barnes and Nobles to read and have coffee/frappachinos.

Morning!
Welcome to Lisa, and hope I didn't miss saying welcome to any other newcomers, oh, I love having so many in our little fun group.
Carolyn, I think maybe you have a ghost in your pool who is deflating your chair???? LOL
Spent most of yesterday afternoon with our Fidelity rep, going over our pitiful accounts and getting them updated as we are screeching towards retirement. I turned over the account managment to them, I have been doing a horrible job of it in this bad market and I figure they can do better and hopefully earn more than their management fee.
Love the kitty nom noming the ear of corn, how cute.
DD#3 just got a new kitten, he is sooooooooo cute. Her cat of 19 years had to be put to sleep about 2 months ago and she was so sad, she had had him all through college and since. When she had to put her cat down, her new husband of 1 year who had never had pets, let alone, any in the house said no more pets. Well, for her birthday I convinced him that he would be her greatest hero if he got her a new kitten and he finally agreed. She was just miserable without a cat and now he is falling in love too. I knew he would once he was around a kitten, they are so cute and playful and he has such a soft heart.
Today is office work and laundry, then tomorrow off to visit DS and DDIL.
Yes, Lewisville is in north TX, we are northwest of Dallas and northeast of Ft. Worth, great location for the airport, interstate, etc.
Talking about kids not picking up, I did real well with my kids until they reached their teen years, then I shut the doors to their rooms until they moved out, LOL. I still made them keep the rest of the house neat though, DH and I are both or were both sticklers for that. Now, we are getting somewhat lax as well, I get so tired and then I just let things lay where they are until I get enough rest to pick it all up again. And, I finally know why older people leave so many things out in the open, it is because if we put them away, we forget where they are or if we even have them. Geez!
It is so hot in TX this year, we have about 6 weeks to go before it will begin to let up. Thank heavens I can stay in mostly but it takes the fun out of getting out and about, DGS is playing in a baseball tournament this week which I would love to go watch but it is too hot and I don't see how these poor kids stand to play in it. They had to replace one of the umps this weekend when he almost passed out from the heat.
I read the other day that the use of AC has made our area, and others of course, much hotter than it used to be, which makes sense, all those machines running full tilt all the time puts off a lot of heat, plus all the other congestion, which answers my question, was TX this hot in the old days and if so, how did people bear it without AC
Well, I am rambling, I guess my brain is fried, LOL, so I will sign off.
Have a great day everyone, glad to keep up with everyone's life, this is so fun.

Hi everyone..

Did a WW call this morning..New city manager and his wife..Nice couple.

Talked to ds..He is going to have an interview next Tuesday in OKCity with a drilling company for an engineering job. So, light the candles girls..Honestly, I would rather have him near KCity, but this is okay if it works out..OKCity is about 4 hours from us.

Oh..Buffy..you are a tricky kitty matchmaker..

Cindy: Thanks for the pancake recipe..I might have to make some tonight for myself..And I have bacon, too..and some very good SF syrup that I got from netrition..Hollow Farms or Valley or something like that.

Susie; I didn't know there was Food Porn place..I'll have to look and see.

MK: Where is CAT???

Judy: Just up some calories a bit until you stop losing.

Grumble..Dianne and I are dealing with the IRS for our tiny little WW business..Her dh (bank President and very smart person) sent in the right forms twice, but they still sent us a bill for $712 because they said they don't have them..That is about 3/4 of our yearly salary..LOLOL..So, I called them today..We have to fax the forms while we are on the phone with the IRS person. So, I'm bringing my fax machine over to Dianne's and she is going to call them on her cell..My cell service stinks here..The lady today thought we wouldn't have to pay the $712.. Wish me luck.

Hi all!!! Just a quick drop in to say hello to everybody. We're having a blast out here in Orange County but I sure wish we'd have some more constant sun!! We've been to the beach everyday but it could be warmer. But I'll take this over the 115 dn degree heat index I hear they have back home. I'll be back in a few days. Don't have too much fun w/o me, lolol.

Morning peeps.
Up early to get ready to go see DS and DDIL. I was too tired last night to pack, and although we are just staying a couple of days, you still have to make sure you take your meds, some extra clothes, a little makeup, yada yada.
Waving at Sandy, out in OC, enjoying cooler weather. Will try to send you just a little of our heat so you can enjoy the beach more.
Oh Carolyn, what a pain with the IRS. I kept getting notices on some forms I had already submitted, finally someone replied that they had received them after I sent very very detailed info with them, and said I would hear from someone. That has been about 9 months ago and no more correspondence from them??? Hope you get it worked out today.
Still reading my new book, Plan D, seems I have had very little time to read and I need to get a list of basics to have on hand so I can begin. One of the things she says to rid yourself of is artificial sweetners except for stevia. Otherwise, says to use small amounts of honey, etc. One of my DD's is going through a cleanse to try to stop her addiction to diet coke. She just craves it and wants to break that habit. I have a friend who drinks gallons of it, I am not kidding. I think that might be my first step, is to try to quit splenda, etc. and just use stevia and honey. Today I am having my coffee black instead of with my pack of splenda. I had already been using less of it, now maybe I can get clear off of it.
Have a great day everyone, will check in when I get back.

And, I finally know why older people leave so many things out in the open, it is because if we put them away, we forget where they are or if we even have them. Geez!

MK: Where is CAT???
Good luck to Brett! In this economy - any job anywhere is great!!

CAT is Caterpillar. They have plants everywhere, but he's going to Pontiac IL.

Sandy - don't forget pictures!! Miss you!

I have so much to do today getting ready to leave tomorrow morning!
Trying to pack 4 people and luggage into a tiny car should be fun.
NOT.
Wish me luck!

Our state tax people sent us a $75 refund check and then 2 days later sent us a statement that our taxes were $75 short and we owed a fine.

Apparently they got some fancy smancy new software that they are denying has a problem :P

Got the ducks a new "pool" recently and just hooked up a new biological filter. It's actually a big stock tank we got on craigslist. The ducks keep playing with the spouts and are making it drip. I swear they are just fluffy toddlers....making messes and in to everything they aren't supposed to be!
