Great pic Susie! I'd be too skeered. When's your cruise? That's a great price! And it sounds like fun.

Susan - so cool!
How is DH's cancer?
Is he in remission?

Carolyn - She's finished school but not her thesis and she can't get a job in her field without it.
So she can't pay rent, eat, etc.

You'd love cruising! Just use a patch!

Sjl, we hope to go in Feb or March when the prices are cheaper.

Tuscan, he had prostate cancer which was removed last summer. His PSA remains zero so that is good, good news. That surgery was a horrid one, he was on the operating table for 5 hours. Due to the weird position they had him in, they cut off circulation to his legs and didnt know it. The thigh & back muscles broke down, causing a serious condition called Rhabdomyolysis which cause his kidneys to fail. A 3 day hospital stay turned into 3 weeks. Long story short, he is now back to 100%.

Susie: Wow...your dh is very lucky. I will tell you..my friend had some work done on her breast (later after having cancer), they messed up her arm after having it over her head for many hours.. Glad your dh is 100 percent..

Oh..What is dd's major? So she will write and research her thesis at home and then present it later on..Is that how it works????

Counseling! And that's what she'd do - I just hope she gets it done!

Morning dear friends!
Wow, great posts since yesterday, thanks Susie for the picture and your dear pet, we all have our dear pets here, LOL. So happy to hear about your DH's complete recovery, sounds like he was very unlucky and then very lucky to come out of that one. Your upcoming cruise sounds like fun too. I also have never been on a cruise.
Carolyn, prayers for Brett on his upcoming interview and his job hunting.
MK, how many will you have at home once DD26 moves back? Is your front door a revolving door? LOL. You do have a lot of comings and goings at your house, I don't think you could have a lazy day if they tied you in a chair, there would be too much activity going on. Enjoy though, those days are numbered and then are the days of quiet, which I really enjoy too. A time for each stage.
Have a hair appt. today, for color and maybe a snip here and there. Run by DD's house to water the cat and the plants.
Really stretched my brain last night to hook up the new adapter to my router via the cable so that I can watch tv on my new computer. Well, finally got that to working but alas, there were no more instructions on it so for now I am not getting sound or catching live tv, just video clips, etc. Going to rest my brain before I tackle the rest of it, not like we don't have other tv's to watch, but sometimes when I am working in the office, I like to turn on the news, etc. I am also supposed to be able to record on it. The more complicated things become, the less instructions they send with them. They want you to go online and find everything. And heaven's forbid you have to call tech support, that is a web of automation that I want to scream about.
Hey Sandy and Shon, how are you today!
Anyone making plans yet for the 4th of July?
It is still so hot here and although there was a little rain north and west of us, we didn't get a drop and need it so badly.

Carolyn, that would be great! Both your kids would be fairly close to home then.

We're having dinner tonight with a young couple with a 6 mo old baby boy. I hope I haven't lost my grandmotherly touch or patience. We encouraged them to bring him and I'm sure it'll be fine.

Oh Buffy, what kind of adapter would that be? I'd love to be able to record shows and watch them when we're traveling. It would save lugging DVDs along. I might have to look into that.

Susie, I forgot to say, yes how very blessed your husband is to have come through all that and be back to normal now. I bet that was so scary for everybody. I too believe we have to live our lives every moment as we just never know what tomorrow brings. I'm glad he's ok now.

MK, yes one of these days your life will be quiet (er). It's an adjustment for sure, but like Buffy, I really enjoy my time now. And I also really enjoy all the kids and grandkids. It's a new stage of life which some people find hard to embrace. I think you'll like it just fine.

Hi..

MK: Yup, on the counseling..My friend who is doing the shower with me is a school counselor. She went back later in life and does a great job. She had to get her Master's too..So, she just got her Bachelors and went right on.

Appreciate everyone's prayers.. for Brett..

Buffy, I can't believe you and your dh haven't been on a cruise..I think you would love it..

Brett and his friend are helping set up the fireworks display in Wichita next week..They are staying with Gary's brother and wife, which is very nice of them..We will join them on Sunday for the "works". He assured me that they won't go off while he is setting them up..

Sandy: owww...a little baby. You will have lots of fun with him..It will all come back to you in 2 seconds..

Hey, Sandy..Sherron Collins wasn't picked for the NBA??? What's with that one?
Deni Clemente from KSU was hopeful, but didn't get picked either.

I sure don't understand the "sports" mindsets. I'm not sure they do either. They just act like they know what they're doing, lol.

Susie, my friend is from Omaha and she and her son went to the games last Saturday. Her cousin has kept his dad's season tickets all these years and all the people sitting around them knew her uncle and the cousins. She said it felt like old home week and they had a great time. Even in the heat.

Buffy: LOL @ our pet. I have a photo in my photo albumn of my 20# kitty!

Carolyn: Congrats on his graduation from KSU! I had just watched a news shot on the BP thing and jumped to conclusions.

Sandy: The first 2 days were really trying due to the severe storms but things have evened out nicely tho we have high humidity and skeeters like mad. Those poor people at that CWS are fried, I see out-of-town plates all over with bright red people inside. My son parked in a yard down at Rosenblatt stadium (people turn their yards into money making opportunities) so he could go get souvineirs & got stuck in the mud. Due to the heavy CWS traffic he was in the sun waiting 3 hours for the tow truck. Hes fried too!

Ya our friend parked in a neighborhood in a private driveway to a home for $5 and was hoping the car would still be there when they went back. It was, thank goodness. They walked about a mile to the stadium from there. Between games they ate at a local burger place and got ice cream somewhere too. She's my pool buddy and looks like a native of the Carribean so no red skin on her. Just deep brown tan.

My daughter thinks that south east part of the city (around the stadium) is like a ghetto! But with that big wonderful Zoo I think the area is going to improve. Did you hear this is the last year for the CWS at Rosenblatt? Theyre building a new stadium in downtown Omaha. The Zoo is taking over the old stadium area this year.

Hi!
We were looking at schools for DS17 today.
He liked this one and it's only an hour away. That means I like it too!

You all were busy chatting!

Buffy - Some days I wish you would tie me to a chair.
I really like to be lazy, there's just so much to do!
And I;m interested in the adapter too!

Susie - we have friends in Omaha - you don't know the Neikirk's do you? Just throwing it out there!

Carolyn - I'll have 3 here for the summer when DD26 moves back and 2 for the fall if she's not out by then! More prayers for Brett!

Sandy - how was dinner?

Dinner was wonderful and the baby was perfect! They seated us 20 min. late so we all got free dessert. Which put me over the edge and then I was too full. But of course, I ate it.

Two years ago when we were out fishing in MX we saw a ray about 25 feet across jump out of the water right by the boat. The capt said it was the biggest he'd ever seen and he's been a fisherman our of Puerto Vallarta for over 25 years. It was very cool, but a bit scary too. Of course, I was afraid it would flop itself right onto the boat and kill us, lol. But it didn't.

It is those big ones that have strong enough barbs and muscles power behind it, that can really do a person damage (Steve Irwin). 25 feet is just nuts!

That water was so beautiful..I know that we are all drooling......

Susan, we are almost neighbors. I'm in KC.

Horse trailer is in the shop for minor adjustments. Off to ride with my BFF this Thursday for the first time since her diagnosis. (for you new girls, she was diagnosed with brain cancer last October......and not the good kind) DHOR10 will get to see his mom also. She always just looks at him like "Didn't I wean you 10 years ago!"

Far too hot here. 95 and humid. Better get used to it.
