I hate it when that happens.

I've been dealing with car stuff again most of the day. Then DD and DSIL came over and ate supper with us. It was nice to visit with them, as usual. We're all going to the Japanese steakhouse Friday. There will be 12 of us total so it should be fun. This is my leftover idea from my birthday. It's never going to end is it.

And lunch tomorrow with DD for Cinco de Mayo at a little local cafe. Sounds good.

Buffy, watch out for the learning curve. It can be a doozie. And when I jump back and forth between old and new technology I get a little . But you'll do fine I'm sure.

Two anniversary dinners. Wow!! Go for it!

Love Sudafed. Only thing that doesn't make me sleepy........and the only thing that keeps me awake at night so it's a catch 22. I take the 12 hour Sudafed first thing in the morning, then nasel spray at night.

Morning! Wow, MK, reading your list, I'm ready for a nap! Oh well, can't today - still cleaning for my db on Friday. Grocery tomorrow and revisiting my list of things to do!

Was the same on the scale this a.m.; thought I might kick things up with an egg fast. Was reading on the other thread about the success people are having - figured maybe a day or two might do the trick. Has anyone here tried it?

Ok, time for my second cup of coffee, then off to finish the cleaning - yuk!

Is it this old??

Also I say some new Dr Scholls inserts for sandals and they're really squishy, but you can't see them! Maybe they would help any shoe you find.

Born, Soft Spots and Franco Sarto are good comfy shoes.

I assumed you weren't ready for these yet!

!!
Oh, MK, you are so fun! No, it isn't that bad, thanks for showing me what I could be working on. What's bugging me really is the older version of windows, I had forgotten the new things the newer versions do that we take for granted.

And the shoes you found for me are perfect, the dress is a nice soft shade of sage green so those brown clunkers should go perfectly with it I actually have had those shoes in white, got them once when I was having lots of heel problems, they aren't bad for comfort, but they do scream OLD LADY!!!

Carolyn, glad you found an allergy "cocktail" that works for you. I am taking musinex, zyrtec and benadryl. It is the itchy eyes that are driviing me nuts and my Dr. wants me off the steroid drops he gave me to use for 2 weeks.

Shon, enjoy your visit with your brother, sounds like fun. I don't think my brother will ever be up to coming to my house again, his health is just so bad. DH and I plan on going there over the 4th of July so I can see him and others back home.

What are you putting in the crockpot MK? Last night I fixed a frozen skillet meal for DH and I, zip, zap, it was ready in 15 minutes and pretty good. Trying to clean some stuff out of the freezer that has been there long enough.

Sandy, watch out or your birthday celebrations are going to start to overlap, Haha.

Have a good day everyone, office work for me, have some fun things to do tomorrow so had better work today.

Hi everyone..

Yes, I think I will clean next week when 2 of my dbs are coming and my sisinlaw, too.
They are coming for Brett's graduation..Two from NH and one from AZ..I was relieved
when Brett got his cap and gown..(his mother had to give him the link).

I love that computer and those shoes..but they do look comfie..don't they? You could wear white anklets with them, too, Buffy..

Just watered my plants, then exercise, stop for coffee, read for the last time with my kids...I got them little presents and wrote an encouraging card..LOLOL..

I started knitting a summer sweater..I ordered the yarn off the internet and it came yesterday. I'm hoping it will fit around the hips..LOL..I'll try it on after I get a little ways up..

Have a great day everyone.

Yes - white anklets would be perfect!!

And of course his mother had to give him the link . . .

Buffy - those shoes do look amazingly comfortable, but I can't imagine wearing them.

Never say never, right?!

Since it's Cinco di Mayo, we're having crock pot burritos.
A roast, a can of Rotel tomatoes and chilis, 2 small cans of chilis and cook for 8-10 hours.
Put in a tortilla with your favorite toppings!

Shon - I finished everything but the house cleaning - of course!

Morning peeps!
Slept hard and dreamt hard all night long, whew, I am exhausted!
Carolyn, let us know if you get the clinque stuff. I have tried several brands so far of the brightening/lightening lotions/potions and have been using one or another faithfully for 6 months now, still have the age spots on my hand and a few on my face. One salesperson told me that the longer you have had them, the harder it is to fade them. The clinque one sounds promising. I have about 6 other jars/bottles to use up first, LOL.
Today I am going to Neimans for a fashion show, beauty event that Dior is putting on, they said small group of about 30, and they were going to have someone there to tell us the history of makeup, some techniques, etc. Should be fun, just something to get out and go to for fun. Going to stop by DD#2's house to see the 2 under 2 kiddos before I go. That baby is growing so fast and she is just a little butterball now, I told my daughter she must be producing pure cream LOL.
Have a wedding to go to this weekend, so must decide what to wear. This is a Texas wedding, on a ranch, so it won't be very dressy.
Carolyn, I just took over one of the spare bedroom closets once the kids left home, I just transfer clothes back and forth in the spring and fall. All off season shoes go in underbed bins, so it is pretty quick and easy.

Gee, thanks guys on the white anklet suggestion, that is just the look I am going for now, hehehe! That would go well with the cotton "dusters" I saw at Walmart the other day, remember those? Since I am the old one in our dinner club group, I should show up at dinner club some night wearing a duster and those shoes and anklets, hehehe.

Have a great day everyone!

Oh Buffy, you crack me up. I remember those old cotton dusters. My grandma used to wear them all the time. I bet they are comfy, lol. And that would be a real hoot to all your dinner club pals I'm sure.

Have fun shopping Carolyn.

Morning!

Sorry I'm so late!
I went to spin class and then swept the walkway, driveway and the street by the curb. I almost filled up a trash can!

Stupid helicopter seeds!

I'm already planning a 9:00 pm bedtime tonight!

This is hysterical! It got me thinking about my old aunts when I was a kid (little old Italian ladies)! They used to have their black nylons rolled down to their ankles and then those black "nun" shoes or fuzzy pink slippers and those goofy dusters! What a hoot! What's even more amazing is that they were probably only in their 30's & 40's at the time!!!!!!!!!

I'm late today, too. Went to the grocery store and then to Bed, Bath to pick up a throw rug for the bathroom. Scrubbed the bathroom floor and washed the rug yesterday. When the washer got off-kilter, I went to adjust it and guess what - the stupid rug was shredded! Fortunately, I got everything out before it clogged up the washer. Pretty much wiped out now, so I think I'm going to make some iced coffee and sit on the deck. It's absolutely beautiful outside.

A water main broke so we're on a boil order and there's no water pressure!

Luckily the wash was finished and I'd had my shower.

Getting chillier here.
80° yesterday and only 69° now!

Shon - I remember my own Italian grandmother!
People sure looked older back then . . . or we just look amazing!

age spots..

Morning all! Getting an early start today - db will be here around noon - I'm so excited! Having a party tonight with siblings/spouses and just totally looking forward to this weekend. Out for Sushi tomorrow night, then Mass and dinner on Sunday. I know it will go fast, so I'm going to savor every moment!

Happy Anniversary Carolyn - do you have anything special planned?

MK, boiling water - not so fun. And no water pressure? When will that be overwith? I guess if there's no water, just have wine!

Sandy, isn't it funny to look at old photos of family and find out they were, what we consider now, young! I remember seeing a picture of my great-grandmother and how much I look like her - body and all!! Oh, thank God for hair color and makeup!!!!

Hope you all have a great day. Don't know if I'll have time to post, but if not, have a great weekend and I'll see you on Monday!

Shon, your weekend sounds lovely. Enjoy every moment.

MK, Yes, your DD is darling! Is this the one up for the position in Aspen? How's that going?

Carolyn, You'll have a busy week getting ready for graduation, won't you? Busy time of year for all of you with children still in school.

DGD's last day is next Tuesday I believe. Then I'll be seeing more of her, I hope. She's keeping her apt. up there though although she'll probably be here more than there since her job's here.

We have our Japanese steakhouse dinner tonight, DH has to work tomorrow, and then dinner at DS's house Sunday for Mother's Day. We're also going out to breakfast with DD for Mother's Day. It sounds like a Full On Food Day, as usual.

Have a great day everybody.

Hey everybody, notice how Sandy was able to go right from BB dinners into Mother's Day celebrations? We must take lessons! :-)
MK, your daughter is beautiful, natural beauty.
Carolyn, surely there are other closets in the house you can take over. I have every closet in my house full of my junk these days.
Shon, you are so right about people looking younger these days. When I was 8 I had to go live with my grandmother who was old it seemed. She had white hair, wore brown oxfords and print housedresses, skin was pretty wrinkled, she had real authentic granny glasses, and guess what, she was all of 57!!! She looked and acted old, or, I am never going to grow up I guess, I never want to act that old.
The Dior event at Neiman's was fun yesterday. Fashion show of clothes you would actually wear, or course if you were a size 0 they would look amazing on you even. The history of Dior house, the man behind it all, them going from fashion to fragrance and then into makeup. Then they showed some new designer bags, shoes and boots for fall, and sold to anyone who wanted to spend that kind of money. I wasn't one of the buying ones :-). They served wine and snacks, I just had a glass of wine, visited with the other 3 ladies at my table and truly enjoyed it.
Carolyn, how are your spots doing? LOL. Can't wait for you to have given it a good trial to see what you think of it. They were giving free hand treatments at Ulta last night, so I got one of those too, love these free beauty events, LOL. The lady who did mine said hands were the hardest to fade sun spots from because we wash our hands so often it is almost impossible to keep sunscreen on our hands and the minute the uv rays hit our hands, age spots come right back, even if you have been able to fade them. Didn't give me much hope.
Well, off to tackle whatever I get done today. Don't have to go anywhere, at least yet.
Everyone enjoy your families who are coming to visit, coming home, whatever.

Hi kids...

My day was made..Ds sent me a cute Mother's Day card.. Dd already gave me my present (an enamel stockpot)..Now, if dc comes through, I'll be all set.

Have fun tonight..You know..I loved the shrimp at the Des Moines Japanese steakhouse..I think they load it with butter..

Okay..I think it will take 12 weeks for them to disappear, according to the tv.. So,
by September, I should be spot free..LOL.The lady did say to wear sun screen, too..

Yes, it is fun to watch fashion shows..

My goal is to get my legs tanned..I might have to do this naturally outside..I hate white legs and I am really bad at applying stuff.

You can always try the tanning beds and just sit up and put your legs under the lamp part, lol. My DD did that years ago when her legs got tanned in a weird pattern b/c of shorts or something. She just covered up the tanner part and let the whiter parts catch up, lol. Vanity, sweet vanity, I know your name well, lolol.

I was even thinking of my mom's age today. When my DD got married my mom was 57 years old!! She was a pretty cool mom but she looked old then. Vanity might be playing a huge part in this statement, BUT I really don't think I look as old as she did back then, lol.

I love scallops and shrimp so I'm sure that's what I'll get tonight. I can't wait. Yum!!

Thanks for the compliments on DD23. I think she's pretty special too!

We'll pick her up at the airport about 8:00 tonight.
DS21 should be rolling in any time now!

The laundry is finished, I've been to the vet - poor Copper had a fever, an ear infection, and a bum hip!
He's on all sorts of meds!
I also went to Kroger and Walgreens.
I REALLY wanted to get to the mall, but I don't see that happening this week!

Sandy - I really do think we're younger - of course we try harder too! Our mothers never went to the gym!
Yes - this is the daughter that has the internship in Aspen. They were supposed to call her last Tuesday to tell her if she has the job instead.
She hasn't heard from them.

Carolyn - what great kids!!! I try to get a little tan on my legs and arms outside. The summer clothes look so much better with a little color!

Maybe you should start the spot remover in the winter, then you don't have to compete with the sun!

Yes - I love the raw fish ones. Eel is my favorite or anything with eel sauce.
It's the Fuji Steakhouse

Buffy - yes, Sandy is really talented!!
Your day yesterday sounds like so much fun!! Are you sure you didn't buy something??

Once this wind calms down, I think I'll get outside more..

Our kids want our old Weber kettle barbecue built in with a cart..Needless to say, the cart needs a touch of paint..Shawn's folks are taking it up to KCity..Armour Hills is having their garage sale May 15th..I told dh that it might end up in there..LOL.

MK: Those peeps take so long to get back to you..She could always call them and check if she has the courage.. You are so brave to eat raw fish..
