Cindy: Beautiful plants! I think the only thing we are growing this year is lettuce. I will have my lettuce going for salads. Have any of you done this? It grows SO EASY and doesn't need a deep pot. I usually use the long planters that you can put up on your deck railing....I buy the mixed package of seeds...

Morning peeps.
Had a wonderful meal with DH at his favorite steakhouse, ate 1/2 of everything but still came out feeling stuffed. Very good though. Cindy, you plants look great. Great cartoon MK, and yes, so true. Carolyn, your ice cream sounds good, does it use fresh strawberries? I saw some very pretty ones at the store yesterday. Up early for me this morning, so maybe I can get more done before I go to DD#2 to keep the 2 little ones tonight. Jury duty Monday AM, just crossing my fingers I don't get chosen. It is interesting, I have served before, but so time consuming.

Morning!
Cindy - They look great! Invite us all over! ![]() Marie - I didn't think of that - it would be easy! I haven't even planted anything yet. They usually tell us to wait until Mother's Day but this Spring has been so warm maybe we could get away with it earlier! Buffy - I'm glad your DH had a yummy birthday. This morning the cats both need to go to the vet - but I have to take them separately, so 2 different appointments. Then I have to take care of a friend's cat and mail, go to Spin Class, visit Walgreens and the library and make a salad and dressing for a party tonight. That should take up most of the day!

Growing lettuce is very easy and think of how expensive it is in the store! Going to start mine this weekend...
It is supposed to be cooler now for a bit and I am happy for that. It is starting to drizzle outside. Hope everyone has a great Friday! ![]() |

For a while I was just watching my percentages and my calories were too high! Keeping an eye on them. I set them @ 1800 and will adjust from there if needed. Here is my percentages for today @ about 1800 calories:

Hi everyone..
Still at 147..Yipee.. Marie: Yup, calories or portion size does count unfortunately..So, it's good you are keeping track. 1500 is a good amount to start with and see what happens. Buffy: Yummm..a nice steak dinner..Glad your dh enjoyed his meal..and you only ate 1/2..My strawberries were real.. MKay: 2 cats to the vet in one day..plus all the other stuff..Now, do your kitties go into their carriers easily???? Alex doesn't like it too much, so I do it when I have a helper.. It just started to rain here, which is a good thing, I think.. Dh is in AZ..Our grill isn't hitched up yet as he has been reading the instructions..which takes a while.. Hi to Miss Cindy and Miss Sandy..I never thought of doing potted veggies..Great idea.

Yep, I have 3 pots of lettuce, 2 of spinach and 2 of radishes and have 4 more packets of lettuce seed to replant. The squirrels dug in the pots where the spinach was so it's pretty spotty but some might make it. And I got 2 tomato plants.
MK, you can plant lettuce, onions, radishes, spinach etc a little earlier than most plants. My tomatoes are in pots so if we do get any more freeze warnings I can drag them into the garage. Now if it would all grow at the same rate as my peonies I'd be eating well fast.

I've done my tomatoes in pots for the last couple of years, but they're on my balcony off my bedroom, so I can't drag them in . . . I think I'll wait a little longer!

I also bought 2 summer squash plants and 2 tomatillo plants. Now I need two more Costco pots!! MK, I just had DC16 t the vet yesterday for a bladder infection. She yowls the whole way. The put her on Amoxacillin and I give her 1/4 of a probiotic and that prevents the diarrhea that it causes. She is much better today. Last edited by CindyCRNA; 04-16-2010 at 06:02 PM.. |

Many many
for Brett for his test. If these kids ever realized how many peeps are praying for them they'd be astounded wouldn't they? But we're the best prayer warriors aren't we? The silent warriors. Or mostly silent anyway.I'm so looking forward to sleeping in in the morning. I sure hope Bailey lets me. |

![]() ![]() for talented young people taking their college exams. and![]() for little kitties having to go to the vet and getting over illness. Carolyn, on holding on to your 147, we are so proud of you.Went to DD#2 yesterday afternoon to see my little ones and babysit while she went to a bridal shower last night. DGS is 22 months now and DGD is 3 1/2 months. Oh, how cute and what fun they are. DGD is now going down for the night at 6:30 pm and DGS 7:30 pm, so it really wasn't as tiring. And they were both so happy and good. Hilarious watching DGS helping DD get ready, he was up on a stool while she was putting her makeup on, he had a brush and some blush and was just going to town on his eyes, cheeks and EARS!! He looked very pink and pretty when he got done ![]() What variety of lettuce do you gals all plant? I am probably too late for it here in TX but maybe for fall? That sounds good. I did plant a tomato plant last year and have a few cherry tomatoes before they burnt up. ![]() everyone! |

Hi ladies and our Gord,
Exercised, did 3 WWagon calls, grabbed a bunless burger, now doing laundry..LOL..big day. We met 2 KState grads on our journey today..Nice folks.. MKay: How many times did your dh take the test??? Brett was a little nervous about it, so who knows?? PE is a good thing to have when you are looking for a job. Marie: Will pray for Megan today, too.. Sandy: I hope Bailey let you sleep in..Mr. Alex wakes me up at 6:00ish..I give his meds in his food, then he is okay for a while..Of course, dh never hears the little meows.. Buffy: Makeup is fun when you are a kiddo..When Beth was 2 she found some bright red lipstick and in her crib she put lipstick on all her stuffed animals and herself.. Dh will be home at 8:00 pm...I told him to find food on the way home from the airport as 8 is too late to cook..(Aren't I mean?) Cindy: I think the Costco pots are a great idea..No weeding involved, either. |

Carolyn - I think he just took it once, but I thought he took it later in his career.
Don't they take the EIT first? Now I'm confused . . . Buffy - too cute! Did they get a pic of him? |

MaryK: I looked on line and it is an 8 hour exam..Of course, it's optional to take it..I'm sure they have classes or study books that can help if he doesn't pass it this time.

I asked DH - he said the EIT is 8 hours. This is the first step in getting your PE.
After 4 years of engineering experience and 3 references they can take the PE. I'm sure he did well! He's your son, after all! |

LOL...Dh got home from AZ last night..We tried to call ds and see how the exam went..I'm sure he is exhausted or celebrating..LOL. Thanks for the clarification on the test, MK..I didn't know how you could become a PE without acutally being an E for several years..
Still at 147 this morning..After church, there is lunch, of course..Will take my supplement for lowering blood sugar with me. Hopefully today dh will hitch up the grill..Job number 1. Have a great day everyone... |

Morning peeps.
Rainy here today, but that's ok, lots of flowers, shrubs, etc. have been planted and a slow soaking rain will be great to set them in. Today is pick up, clean up, put things away in the house day. The more I go, the messier I get, LOL. Tomorrow is jury duty, fingers crossed I don't have to serve. |

Hi..

It is chilly here today..It is attach the gas to the grill day..Should take dh about 10 minutes..or more.. Buffy: I only did jury duty once..I didn't like it..We knew he was guilty of making meth but they couldn't prove he was doing it..The guy is probably dead by now.. ![]() |
