I just got back from a massage. I told my gal I'm probably going to skip the summer ones and double up in the fall to catch up. I really don't enjoy them as much in the summer.

I'm also trying to catch up on laundry. Ugh. I don't know how 2 peeps go thru so many clothes. I do at least 5 loads a week and sometimes 6!! Are we weird??

Good for you on the massage thing, Sandy..I agree winter everything tightens up more than summer.. Yup, there is always laundry...and taxes.

Do any of you have any GREAT Hi-Fat, Low-carb reciepes you'd like to share?
Or is there a special place I could go to find some?
Heads up: I'm not into "Healthy" , "Organic" or Exotic cooking.
My style is more Southern Style, and I like the "down home" type of cooking,
but not veggies like Greens, Black-eyed peas and stuff like that.
Also I like Splenda and plan to continue using it frequently.
When I was doing EFGT, one of my fav lunches was an Oopsie bun (which is all over this board) with melted Brie cheese and a smear of Walden Farms strawberry jam. Oopsies are basically egg whites whipped with a bit of cream of tartar and room temp cream cheese folded in. I had a muffin top pan which was perfect to bake the buns. Here's the website which is a really helpful one: http://cleochatra.blogspot.com/2009/...ka-oopsie.html

Morning!
For some strange reason, well aside from the fact that my sleep patterns have always been strange, the past week my body has decided to wake up about 3:30 AM each day and some days I can go back to sleep, some days I can't. Today was an I Can't day! So, have been on ebay, read email, made coffee and it is still dark outside. Not normal for this late sleeper.

Good morning!
Buffy: I have nights like that...where I can't (or maybe I don't want to) go to sleep till after midnight...and I am up @ 5:10 everyday...I slept pretty good last night.
So far enjoying this WOE. When I was getting groceries this weekend I got some Dole Sliced strawberries from Sam's and they are really good...not like I remembered frozen strawberries. I am back to having CO in my coffee too and enjoying that again...Today lunch will be something simple...got some romaine at work already and Ranch dressing. Dinner tonight will be salmon. Simple foods...love them. I tried to find a favorite at the store and guess they don't make/carry it anymore...the Progresso Carb Monitor soup. Oh, well....not alot of LC prepared stuff anymore.

Marie, your proportions sound perfect.

So, Sam's have Dole sliced frozen strawberries with no sugar added? Oh, I have to get those. I love strawberries but have to say, I hate getting them, cleaning them, etc., plus they spoil so quickly. The frozen ones would be perfect for me, DH seldom eats the fresh fruit I buy, unless I buy cake and coolwhip, but this would work for that as well. Thanks for telling us about them, will look next time we make a Sam's trip.

Thank you, Cindy
I checked out the web-site and I think it will be a great help.
I needed a bit of motivation because my book is still not here.
Maybe it will come today, I hope.
I'm going to go right to the kitchen and make some of those oopsie rolls now.

Exercised this morning, went to Wallie..chatted with a friend from the olden days..She sang at my wedding 31 years ago..and we hadn't talked for many years as she lives in Maine and we just found out where each other lived..

Hi to Sandy, MKay and Cindy and Gord..(I wonder how the met is going to work for ya)

You guys aren't going to believe this but....I had another birthday lunch for me today. Finally, the LAST one. My dad got back and wanted to take me. He felt bad b/c he's been gone, busy, etc. so I finally relented and we went to Cheddar's. I did order a salad but not a very healthy one and then we split a dessert. Way too much. I'm glad it's over now.

It's a beautiful day here! I've been fighting a computer virus all last night and today and I think I'm finally virus free. Sorry if you all got any bad emails from me b/c of it. I hate those things!!

Thanks for making me . I just got back from the gym and getting my food ready for work. Cooking some hamburger patties to take for today and the rest of the week so that will be done! Today I will have romaine with it at lunch time but tomorrow I think I will cook up some brocolli for lunch the rest of the week.
Working on my 2nd cup of coffee and listen to some talk radio while I get ready for work...ttyl

I heard from MK yesterday. Her computer is fixed so she should be popping in soon.

It's a beautiful day here too. I hope to enjoy it if I can get outside soon. I'm making a triple choc. cake for the Daughters of Isabela meeting tonight and it's smelling yummy. First time I ever made it in a 9x13 instead of a bundt pan so I hope it turns out or I'll be making another one. Ugh!

Morning!
Oh Sandy, dangerous ground, making a 2nd cake to take, that means that old, damaged, but still yummy cake is still hanging around, reminding you that you just had a birthday, hey, you're special, come on, just a little pinch won't hurt cha??? KWIM??? LOL
Wow, Carolyn, 147, false or not, that had to be fun to see. You deserve it for supporting the country with your taxes.
Marie, you are doing good, planning and cooking ahead makes all the difference.
Yes, BrightAngel, the books take awhile to get here. It is hard to wait.
Glad MK's puter is back up, she is sure missed around here when she doesn't pop in and out.
Dinner club tonight at a "new to me" mexican restaurant, supposed to be very good. We are so busy talking and having fun that I seldom overeat at these meetings, so at least my portions are small. I usually split an entree with another friend. We all live in Denton county, so we have finally come up with a name for our group, The Real Housewives of DC. Fun!

Love the name Buffy and that dinner club sounds like so much fun. I keep thinking I should try to start one with my gal pals. Or even couples I guess. Although I have no idea what we'd call that one, lol. I do go out to theater/dinner with my friends about once every other month but just a dinner club sounds like fun too. Just what I need, another eating temptation though.

The cake turned out of the pan fine so whew, I don't have to make another one. Saved!!

I hate it when cakes don't turn out of pans..cuz you have to eat the whole thing yourself while baking another one..My lifesaver is parchment paper..Of course, doesn't work
for bundt pans..

Dh and I love loaded broccoli..Steamed broccoli with shredded cheese, bacon, and sour cream.....

Yay little miss piggy, whoops, I mean our little Mary Kay is back! We missed you!

Sandy, a dinner club is fun. Some of us see each other in between, some of us don't but at least once a month, we really each try to make dinner club. Very casual, there are 9 of us, keep it small so you can sit around a table and hear each other. We had 8 but one gal we all liked, begged us to let her join, but we said no more after that one joined. We make up a list of months ahead and each person takes a month, or one person just assigns, them, keep it easy. We always meet the 2nd Wed. night of each month, don't change the date if one or more can't come, that just gets crazy as then you change it and someone else can't come. On Monday morning, whoever is choosing the restaurant that month sends out an email, meet at Blah Blah restaurant Wed. night, 6:30 for drinks and then dinner. We each reply to all as to whether we are going to be able to make it or not. If needed, then the hostess of the month can make a reservation. We get there as soon as we can, usually most of us are there by 7:00. We order on separate checks, make it easy to pay the bill. Most nights we are home by 10, sometimes earlier as most everyone has to go to work the next day. Just have a ball, great girl time.

Morning!

Buffy - I Girl's Night Out! Sounds great!!

Carolyn - It's good to be back!

Today is Spin class and then a massage. I fell asleep at 10:00 last night and finally feel rested.

I've been enjoying the good weather! We're 15° above normal! So it's been 85° every day. Weird! I think I'm getting a tan! Next week should be back in the 60's.
