Water requirment on EFGT?
Can someone following EFGT please tell me what Barry says about water? I don't have the book (which seems to be out of print) and I started yesterday. I kept very low on carbs and had about 1500-1600 cal but I gained .8 so I am wondering if I did not drink enough (or maybe too much) water.

He says that we should drink 3 1/2 pints of liquid a day..Don't wait until you are thirsty.and don't drink more than 8 ounces with a meal as it will dilute your stomach juices. 56 ounces is what he recommends as a minimum.

Thanks so much, Carolyn, and for your advice in the other thread. I did cut back today and will see what happens (yesterday was my b'day, so what the heck!). I do drink about a gallon of various liquids about half of which is filtered water and am hoping that is not too much. The rest consist of morning coffee and herbal teas. I ordered Barry's new book. It got such great reviews on Amazon. Have you read it?

It's Natural Health and WL. Did you like it? I never heard of Trick or Treat but can guess that it's about how the FDA is serving us up to Big Pharma; should be Trick and Treat, lol! Really looking forward to NH & WL. We moved to the country over 6 years ago and have been going organic as much as possible. I love to read about natural ways to manage diet and improve health. I feel so much more in control of my health destiny, especially now that I've lost so much weight. Btw, was down a little bit today so am encouraged to stick with EFGT

It is called Trick AND Treat! I looked it up on Amazon - my kind of book! I'm a big conspiracy theory fan since I found out a few years ago that they are basically all real. That's when we moved to the country (from NYC) to be able to self-suffice when the whole thing starts imploding (as it already sadly has). Please let me know how you liked Trick and Treat as well!

Yup, it's Trick and Treat..a very readable book..Much like Taubes' Good Calories, Bad Calories, which is pretty technical.
NHealth and WL is a great book. |
