Morning!

DS17 doesn't have school today, so I'm a little behind.
Today is my last PEO meeting as president! Yay!!

Maybe I can spend more time exercising!

I didn't way this morning, but I'll take the 127 from yesterday *shudder*
How did this happen??

Well as promised, I'm up. 4.2# up!! 152.2. Ugh!! I was looking at my Weight Commander program and when you enter your weight it shows what you weighed last week, last month and last year. I'm up 8# from Mar. 1 of last year so that really hit me hard. I have got to get with it and get this extra weight back off before it becomes permanent and before I add another 5# and then another.....

So yes, life in Diet County certainly is a struggle isn't it?

I'm blaming (my) age. There is a reason they give senior citizens tiny portions and want them to eat at 5 p.m. LOLO..

I wish I could eat at 5 p.m...There is a book called Fighting the Middle Age Fat Cell or something like that. Eat early..then stop is the theory..The theory is for older folks, the metabolism really drops like a rock in the evening and switches to fat storing mode. I think I'm a believer..

I have to blame me, not my age. I've just been eating whatever and whenever I want and that's not good. I knew I couldn't get by doing that for long and it's really catching up with me. So trying to turn over a new leaf. I really need new inspiration to get me motivated though. Like a new diet book, lol. Even if it's the same old diet it'll seem new maybe. And I've been doing pretty good and not eating late. I just eat so much before it's late that it really doesn't help, lol.

I forgot to weigh this morning and I'm sure I drank 10 pounds of coffee!

I think I'm up too. These last 3 days with a cold makes you eat junk to try to make you feel better. Girls, it never stops!

I'm no longer my PEO chapter's president!!
Yay! Check that off my list!

And big news - DD23 has a paid internship this summer with the Aspen Music Festival!
So exciting!
But instead of 14 hours to visit her, it'll be 17.5!!

But she's thrilled, so I am too!

Morning!

Mapquest sends you through St Joe but not down into KC - they say it's shorter on 80 not 70!
It looks shorter on I-70!

Anyway - she'll be doing media relations for their summer festival. It runs 6 weeks from mid July thru end of August. Then home for a wedding and hopefully a real job somewhere.

She says in magazines you intern until someone offers you a job as an assistant (like the show Ugly Betty). As long as it's a paid internship - I don't care!

Hi gals..

Our neighbor's son interned at Bravo one summer, then did get a job there editing
Inside the Actor's Studio. He loves it..expensive in NYC..way different culture from
being in the Midwest..

Dd is getting great experience to see what she really wants to do when she graduates..

Dh is going to my PA this morning to have his thyroid evaluated..He is on Synthroid, but I think he needs more and some T3..Blood tests have been done..She tested his
hormones, too. (This may not be a good thing..LOLO).

I'm thrilled for DD - it will help her later. And even though Aspen is farther away than Syracuse, it seems closer!

Morning friends.
Been MIA for a couple of days, just got sidetracked, not even sure with what. I get sidetracked very easily anymore.
Can't believe we are in a new month, wow.
Been making some travel plans, going to NE next week to see DGD as Dorothy in Wizard of OZ, community theatre, then DD is driving to TX to see the new baby so I will drive back with her. She will be here visiting for a few days. Later in the month I am going to CO with DD#2 and her family to be Mema Nanny for the baby and brother while they do some skiing. Busy month.
Oh, MK, Aspen is awesome in the summer, she will love it there.
Kim, still fighting your cold? I swear I had it for almost 2 weeks and I even went to the Dr.
Carolyn, has Gary always had thyroid issues? DH was put on thyroid meds about 2 years ago.
Sandy, like you, I need a new diet to make things interesting.
For now, just plodding along.
Weekend was fun, babysitting the 2 little ones on Sat., the baby started smiling on Friday so I got some million dollar smiles out of her on Sat. DGS 20 months is so cute helping to take care of the baby.
Sunday was the triplets 4th birthday party, that was a very busy party but lots of fun.
Sun. night DS called to tell me that he won one of 5 awards given out by his company at the awards ceremony that night, I was so proud and happy for him.

Hi gals..

Buffy: Wow..sounds like you have a fun filled month.. I saw in the news that there was a fire in downtown Dallas at a strip mall.

To watch the big KU/KSU game, I think we will have to go to the local hamburger/sportsbar place. We can't get it here, but at least I won't have to cook..
There are more KU fans than KSU fans, so we might be outnumbered tomorrow night.

Wear both colors for your own protection, lol. It ought to be a good game.

I'm almost finished with the taxes and then DH will check them over and I'll send them. By e-file of course, lol. Except the ones I have to pay. Those will wait awhile, right?

Wow, Buffy, you're a busy girl this month. Sounds like all fun.

I scheduled our summer trip today. I had FF miles so I just hunted around until I found a place that I could get 2 free flights to and that's where we're going. We're going to the OC. I'll be on the lookout for any Real Housewives while I'm there, lol. We're going to stay at a well reviewed quaint hotel right across from the beach in Newport. I sure hope we like it. I'm sure we will. We love going to new places. And with a beach and seafood how bad could it actually be??

Hi,

Sandy: That sounds like lots of fun..We all know how much you love the beach.. Those FF miles are great, but you really have to search for the right flights, etc..I've been to CA years ago..the coast is beautiful.

We don't know where we are going this summer with Brett graduating and hopefully getting a job..We may spend our vacation moving him somewhere, which is fine.

Off to the doctor today to see how my thyroid was doing.

I hope it is a good game tonight..If both teams are "on" it should be.

Morning gang.
Game plus food you don't have to cook sounds like a winner Carolyn!

Sandy, sounds like a great vacation. I have only been to CA 3-4 times but do love the weather there. Love seeing the ocean, the waves, etc. I think you will love it. I keep saving my miles for Hawaii, just need to sit down way, way in advance and plan it, like you said, it can be tricky using the miles.

I love Hawaii..

Just got back from the doctor..thyroid is fine..3 grains is perfect for me. Then my Tcholesterol was good 185...This is the best it has been..But I do think proper thyroid
meds makes a difference..and my HDL was 65..above the range.

Then..good think I"m locarbing cuz my fasting glucose was 101 and my Ac was 5.7..So,
if I was a bad girl, it would be higher. She gave me some supplement called Diaxinol to take with lunch. It helps control sugar levels without medication.

Time for exercising and a hair cut..then the big game.

ANOTHER long crazy day!

Visit mom, doc appt, errands AND I tried on bras and bathing suits - Ick

Wow - I look awful!

I bought 2 suits to try on again at home and some swim shorts to go over them.
DD23 called me in every dressing room I was in . . . .

I hope everyone is doing well - I'm fried!
And tomorrow isn't looking much better!

Though I did figure out how to use my car's bluetooth!
It's so much easier to talk to people while I'm driving!

Hi gals..

MK: Your ds's spring break is earlier than ours..We have another few weeks to go. One of Brett's friends is getting married here so he is going to the wedding. It's amazing how these kids grow up..LOL.

AKK..Bathing suits..I always have to have something on the bottom to hide the top of my thighs..

Sandy: Happy night for KU last night..But then they meet MU at home. That should be interesting. KSU plays IowaSt, so that should go pretty well..Then it's the big 12 conference in KCity..Have you ever gone to that??

Hi Buffy ..Dh and I met a civil air patrol man from Dallas last night at the sportsbar..They learn to fly their new planes that Cessna makes here.

Cindy: How do you feel on your lower meds??

Yes, the KU/MU game will be another good one. Sounds like you had a good time at the bar, lol. No, we've never gone to the games here. We've never gone to a college basketball game at all. Only football and that was only once. I think we prefer watching on TV from the comfort of home. I know, we're old, lol. I did get a 1/2 price offer for tickets this year though. Maybe I should've bought some??

MK, busy day here too. Bible study and then Dad's Dr. follow-up appt. to check his knee and shoulder. It's going to be in the 50s here today!

Oh, I finally got back below 150 this a.m. First time since I got home from vacation!! I've been very good all week. Hopefully that'll motivate me to stay good all weekend.

Morning peeps.
Did the guy from Dallas know us Carolyn, LOL?
Ewww, bathing suits, no matter how beautiful or expensive the suit, it looks crappy on me. I shudder when I have to wear one. Then that makes everything jiggle, it is a horrible sight to behold.
Yay Sandy on being good and getting below 150.
Carolyn, that's not good on your glucose, especially for the way you eat. Keep an eye on that.
DGS 10 was here after school and last night, we had a good time.
Today office work. Period. Oh, and a run to CVS to pick up some of their super specials. No WHERE ELSE may I go.....
Must work in office
Period!

Hi, All. Just starting to come out of this cold/sinus infection(?) coma. My BF put me on a Z-Pack which seems to be helping. I am not a good sick person. I can't stand being lethargic and laying around.

Warmer weather this week end, up to 58 on Sunday and Daylight Savings Time Spring Forward is March 14th in a week and a half which is my favorite! I love the lighter evenings.

Oh, I just ordered this stuff from Netrition: http://www6.netrition.com/mt_olive_sweet_relish.html
I'll let you know how it is.

Hi gals..

Hope your dad's appointment went well today, Sandy. The bar stool had a back so it was pretty comfortable..However, we will listen to the Saturday game at home on the radio..like in the olden days. Congrats on losing that weight..Good for you!!!!

Buffy: Yup, on the glucose..I'm in the middle zone..just have to watch it carefully. I bought a bunch of strips so I can check more often.

Cindy: I like the other Mt. Olive pickles..or some other kinds that are SFree..Sometimes I add Splenda to dill relish to make it sweet. It's convenient to have a doctor for a bf..

Okay, ladies..The end of ALL MY KITTIES soap opera. Mercedes (ragdoll kitty) went back to Sharon's a few nights ago for good. Sharon promised to keep her forever and ever. Sharon also is adopting a little boy ragdoll in May. So, Mercedes can play "house".
