Great..Well, today is the day BRGTW challenge..I have to make something for a meeting tonight and I'm making Magic Cookie Bars because I am not eating a thing after dinner.
If I bring fruit or cheese, I will eat it and I'm not going to..

My poor Alex hasn't eaten since 6 last night..He slept with me was up several times and has been meowing his head off this morning..It's teeth cleaning day for the old boy. Dh has to help get him in the carrier before he leaves for work..

Hi..

Well, they didn't do Alex's cleaning because his kidney blood work was slightly elevated, but he could have been dehydrated as he hasn't had anything to drink all night because he was upset when we took his food away last night..So, I bring him back in 2 weeks for another blood test to see if he needs kidney meds..They could have done the teeth cleaning, but I didn't want anything to happen to him if his kidneys need meds. He is happy to be home and ate like a little piggie..although, I only gave him a small amount at first. He was licking the bowl and he never does that.

On the Mercedes cat story...I think Sharon wanted her Sheba back and Mercedes has her own personality and that was hard to accept. Sharon needed time to grieve I think..before she got another different kitty..

I need to get the girls teeth cleaned but I fear subjecting them to anesthesia. The vet said it is safe but I worry about the old girls. How old is Alex?

Tell Sharon it is normal to compare cats. She won't like the new one to start and it will take a few months for her to appreciate the new cats personality.

All right, being good for a week, I'm in! I need to be! I forgot to weigh this morning so I'll post in the AM.

Alex is 12, but be sure to have the blood work done first...I had no idea he had a slight problem, but I'm ditching his dry food, which can be very dehydrating..He only got it as a backup. If I was a good mom, I would make my own. I had him on diet dry food, with lots of fiber, which I think can be dehydrating for sure..So, just cans, please..

With Sharon it's either black or white, so I'm sure Mercedes will be back to her mom tonight..Oh well..I was a little worried because I just met Sharon in our Bible Study this year and she is rather uptight..It's okay..

Nothing to report today except it is February.
Saw there is a book coming out on Oscar, the cat who lives in the nursing home for severe dementia patients, and goes to lay by a person who is in the last hours of their lives. No one understands how he senses that, but he is almost always right.

Just went back and read about the Mercedes story, for Pete's sake, 2 hours???? Did you say she was a schoolteacher, or did I imagine that? If so, I hope she gives her students more of a chance than she did that poor little kitty, or maybe it was lucky for the kitty.

Yes..Sharon is rather anal and impatient. Maybe it was a blessing the kitty will find a new home, methinks..Cats really "read us" very well..I like that Oscar story..I guess if he was heading to my room, I would be saying my prayers..

Okay...I have been very good today...I'm done eating. No grapes for me tonight or those Magic Cookie Bars..Dh can take the rest to the office tomorrow.

Breakfast: 2 eggs/sausage
Lunch: Bunless Burger
Snack: Cheese and a slice of turkey
Dinner: A fake taco salad with guacamole/sour cream/hamburger/lettuce and cheese.

Oh..I had 1.5 ounce of hard salami baked in the oven.

Yay Carolyn on such a good day. I did good all day on quantity, then couldn't get to sleep and got up and had a snack, not needed!!!
Yes, I think Oscar goes and gets on the bed and lays next to them. Maybe he is an angel, taking them on their way? I wish they could figure out how he knows what he does??? It is a sensory thing of some sort.
DGS walked home from school to my house and got to stay for dinner, DD had a class at 24 hour fitness on her way home from work. DGS is coming by again tomorrow after school, so we are getting caught up. We missed last week, I was out of town on the day he usually comes.

Hi everyone..

How nice your dgs visits.. and eats I think it's great when kiddos can have loving grandparents who are close. When I was growing up, we lived in NH and my grandparents lived in CT..My kids grew up in IA and my parents were in NH and Gary's were in KS. But they loved their grandkids..

How small was that box of nerds, MK? LOL..

I was in dark ketosis by yesterday afternoon, but sometimes the dark is just fat that you are eating coming out. I don't think I lost anything so far..One day down..

Exercise, Bible Study, might have coffee with a gal I am sort of mentoring...Dh is leaving for hotLanta tomorrow in his boss's private jet and he is travelling with his boss ..Good news..bad news type of thing. Honestly, he drives to the airport here which is
3 miles away, gets in and goes. No lines, no security, etc.

Surprise! I had a minute and a good internet connection too! Woohooo. So I just wanted to pop in and say Hola to all my amigas here. We're having fun. Today is supposed to be whale watching. It still looks really cloudy but that can burn off fast, so we'll have to see what happens. The kids love it so far. We're eating and drinking way too much but walking a ton too so hopefully.......prolly not, lol.

Carolyn, my kids were lucky when they were younger to have my MIL closeby and they adored her, so I am so happy I can be close to at least part of my grandkids.
Off to bed, didn't sleep well last night but made myself get up at a decent time this morning, so, hoping I sleep better tonight.

Thought I'd drop by to say hello to you lovely ladies!

Had a disaterous year LC wise, and of course pigged out at Christmas and all through Jan. BUT - enough is enough.

You may remember that I just couldn't lose weight on EFGT (though I wasn't gaining either - today I'm fatter than I've ever been in my life...) SO, I've started a mixture of intermittent fasting, LC and conscious eating. So far so good... reading this message board is great inspiration

Yup, Gary's boss is older (78) and kinda big, so he likes the company jet (they share it with a Wichita firm). I've never ridden in it, but I think it would be fun...

Today is : reading with my little guy (not totally motivated) and my perfect little girl, out to lunch with Brett's old gfriend..whom I love and she dates someone else..Brett broke them up..She dropped out of KU (All A student).. And thinks she wants to marry this new guy, which is fine, but I'm just going to be a "friend"..

Akkk..my leg cramps were back this morning..Induction does it to me..So, I took my potassium this morning and will continue to do it. Didn't get on the scale yet, but might skip until tomorrow.

We got a new dishwasher yesterday. I ran it last night but haven't looked to see how it did yet!

I had a meeting at church and exercised - 35 min on the elliptical and 15 on the treadmill and then arms. AND then I gained weight this morning!

Massage today and then I need to work on the house.

Oh, a new dishwasher, I get so excited to get new appliances, even such things as a vacuum! I swear by Kitchenaid for d/washers, but have had mine for about 12 years and don't know if the new ones are as good. Mine still works great.
Lola, so happy to have you stop by. I don't eat EFGT anymore but still hang out here with the gang, so just hang out with us and chat, we will support you in whatever woe you choose.
Carolyn, that is nice that you have stayed friends with Brett's old girlfriend, so sad she dropped out of school though, hopefully she will come to her senses and go back and finish. I always liked, well, almost always, my sons girlfriends but haven't stayed in touch with any of them. Most of them were from his days when he moved away from home and I only got to meet a few times, or once or twice. He had several since he didn't get married until he was 32 and it was interesting that as he got older, I thought he picked nicer and nicer girls, and then he found DDIL whom I adore. She was worth looking and waiting for.
Today I am getting a pedicure and lunch with my friend Jeanette, then DGS is walking home to my house from school again. His stepdad has had a busy week so I have been lucky enough to have him 3 days this week.
Tomorrow DD#2 and DGS 20 months and the new baby are coming to visit. She lives about 45 minutes from me, oh, I wish she lived as close as DD#3, I just want to hold that baby non-stop.
Sat. I leave for Las Vegas again, another offer of free rooms, food and playing, so am meeting my cousin there. My friend here is also going and meeting her cousin there, so we will have a fun time.
Better get stuff done, right???

Hi..

Let's see..I have had 2 new dishwashers in my married life.. I love dishwashers alot.
I think I have a Kitchenaide now..

I had a very nice lunch with Becca..She is very levelheaded. Her mother reacts very emotionally to things first, then calms down..(Becca told me..no surprise). But, her bfriend is now looking for a regular job, so that is a good sign..She is going to get a job, then go back to college and teach Art at a college, so I am relieved that she has some goals..I always knew she had goals, but they have switched..

Wildcats skunked Nebraska last night..76 to 57..We listened on the radio as it wasn't on tv.

I have been very good today..Had mini crabcakes at the restaurant with a nice big salad..mostly lettuce.

I do think I lost some weight, but will do an official weigh-in tomorrow for our BRGTW
Challenge..

Gary left, so Alex and I are on our own for a while..

Question - The doc has suggested I take fish oil to help lower my cholesterol.
Anyone take it?

On the fish oil..I have taken it and I think it's a good thing..However, it is best to get a really good grade so it doesn't repeat on ya. Go to a health food store and see what they recommend.

They have especially coated ones that aren't supposed to make you burp too badly. But, go with a good grade..
