I don't blame you, MaryKay..It's bad when pills don't work..at a restaurant is not a good thing either.

Hi dear friends!
Had a blast in Vegas, there were 4 of us, we shopped till we were beyond dropping, so spent too much shopping but hardly gambled, so it was all good. I am sooooooooo tired this morning, got in late last night.
Sounds like most of you are getting in on that winter storm, I think we are even supposed to get a little snow out of it, and quite cold for us.
We also ate too much out there. Yikes!

Hi..

Yes, I was leery of heating up the olive oil, but I didn't have it too hot, Cindy..

This is my new regime for my face..Do a search for the Oil Cleansing Method on LCF's..
You mix evvo and castor oil and then put a little on your face, rub it in and put a hot washcloth over your face and let it soak in, then take it off. Feels good..

Yes, Magical..Join us..We are really trying to be good...really..

Buffy: So glad that you had fun. I hope it was slightly warm in Vegas..

I'm holding my own at 152.0..So..I made up some of Jennifer's cold cereal mix..
Basically you take almond flour, flaxseed meal, nuts, cinnamon, protein powder,
sweetener and put it in a bowl..Then you add water until it looks like peanut butter.
Spread this on some parchment paper and bake at 325 for 8 minutes, break it up, bake longer until it is crispy..I make a bunch and put it in a container, so now I have to worry about dh's portion control factor, which isn't good at all.

It's 25 here but sunny enough that it actually feels warmish!
Our roads are good - the main ones anyway - and the rest are just snow-packed but not really slick.
We do have wind, but not a lot.
DS17 and I shoveled the drive, I exercised and then got a massage.
It's a pretty good day!

Buffy - I'm glad you had such a good time!!

Cindy - I thought you could use different types of olive oils for all those things - extra virgin, virgin, etc. No?

Hi everyone,

We are at 30 degrees, which isn't bad at all..Will exercise, then go to Christian Women's Club luncheon at the Sirloin Stockade..(lots of salad items there plus SF jello)..

I didn't weigh this morning..but was good yesterday, except for a salty hot dog..

MK: I'm betting you are glad the kids are back in school..Your ds was probably getting bored at home. Or maybe not.

Hope everyone is staying safe and warm..

Morning peeps, whoops, it is already noon. I lazed over coffee, the paper and email this morning.
Woke up to snow again in Dallas, boy, what an unusual winter, we have had snow several times, many years there is not one snow day. It is 33 here so it is sticking and they changed the forecast from 2 inches to 6 inches, haven't talke to DGS yet but bet he is in heaven. Supposed to get icy later in the day. So different for us. But, I don't have to get out for anything for the next several days so can wait until it is nice again and believe me, I need to be home getting things done after my last trip.

Welcome Magical, join into our chatty group.

Is Sandy due back this weekend?

MK, 2 snow days is probably enough for the kids to get enough sleep and then get bored.

Carolyn, let us know how the cereal tastes and how that works on your face, the oil, not the cereal, haha. My skin is so dry that I can not get enough moisture on my face but I try all the creams, etc. One thing that does help is to keep it exfoliated, as well as the rest of my body, then the creams do absorb better. I love the scrubs that have the oil in them for the body, they feel great and then I put more lotion on top of that when I dry off.

Dinner club last night, had a great time with my pals. Laughed and laughed about how many times we get suckered into buying stuff off tv, QVC, etc. One friend said her mom is the worst, buys all the makeup deals and signs up for auto ship, so she has shelves full of stuff. When they visit, they are invited to take anything they would like, LOL.

Laughter is so good for the soul.

Have a great day everyone.

Buffy - have you tried fish oil?
My skin was really dry until I started taking it.
It feels so much better!

LOL..

The cereal was very good.. I'm liking the oil, but I think I need to add more EVVO to the mix because that will give you more moisture..

Glad the fish oil is working on your skin, MKay.

Anyone ever seen Love Letters? It's a great little play..2 people reading those funny letters. We are going to a local production with dd's inlaws..Dinner will be lasagne and salad..but I'll be very careful and probably eat some eggs before I go so I won't be tempted to pig out.

Akk..out of ketosis..Back on track today. Took my water pill this morning as my hands were kinda swollen..I did have about 20 carbs of fried shrimp last night and the cereal in the a.m., so it might have been too many carbs.

However, tonight is that lasagne dinner theater. I will eat beforehand and have salad and pick around the noodles..

Hope everyone is doing okay.

Morning!
I love avocado, some people hate it, you have to try it to see.

MK, thanks for the tip on fish oil but yes, I do take quite a bit of it and you are right, my skind isn't as dry as it was before that but still dry in the winter.

Haven't seen that play Carolyn but think I saw something about it in the paper. Enjoy it.

I have a sore throat, started yesterday and by last night was on both sides. Taking day and nyquils and feel achy today but not too bad. Will stay in this weekend and baby it, if not better by Monday I will go to the doctor.

Need to go put a roast in the crock pot, was going to cut it up and make a stew but think I will just throw everything in with the big piece of meat, too tired to do a lot of cutting and chopping. Same result, kind of.

Hi kids..

It's hard to describe the avocado taste, I think..Almost "olivey" because of the oils in it..
I really love it.

Buffy: You are getting some weather, aren't you?? If you can't swallow, then it might be something like strep..but maybe it's just the flu..And, you know those germs float around on the planes like crazy, don't they??

Did my exercise..Made some Italian Cream Pudding with ricotta and milk on the Recipe
Board.

I'm not sure what to do on the ragdoll cat issue..Mercedes is still up for grabs, and Sharon said she can't get her out of her mind..but she thought it was too soon the last time she tried her out (and lasted 2 hours). Tazcat gave me lots of good ideas about this..I called Shelley and I think she might let Sharon have her, but they are going to have to figure it out..

Throat isn't that sore, just achy and slightly sore throat, some cough, so maybe a cold/flu combo. I really don't feel that bad and don't have a thing scheduled for the next several days so think I can rest a lot and shake it off.

We broke all records, got 10-12 inches of snow, UNHEARD of in DFW. It is very pretty and will start melting tomorrow as it is supposed to warm into the 40's.

For me, I have never had a cat I didn't grow to love and pretty quickly at that. Even if it was kind of different and not too loving. The only thing I would hate to think of is getting a cat that was sick all the time, that would be very hard. Are you keeping the cat now Carolyn? Could Sharon maybe just take the cat on a "visit" for a week or so and see how it worked out?

The soap opera All My Kitty Cats is still continuing. I don't know if Sharon will take
Mercedes but it's up to her. I gave her Taz's great advice..

Dianne and I are off to do some WW calls this morning. Dh will go to work. KSU plays at 5, so we will listen on the radio cuz it's not on tv.

Hugs all around..

Morning peeps

Glad you enjoyed Love Letters Carolyn.

I don't feel any better but don't feel any worse this morning. It is just kind of working it's way along. I will know by Monday if I need to go to the Dr. or not.

Worse thing is not getting to see the baby and she is growing like a little weed.

Weight back down from my trip which was needed.

Morning!

DH and I went out to dinner last night ~ Chilean Sea Bass - Yum! and are doing a movie tonight.
He doesn't mind Chick Flicks, so maybe Valentine's Day!

DD26 is coming over today so I can give her a present!

Mom seems to be settling in - fingers crossed!

Carolyn - LOVE your soap opera! Keep us posted!
Good job on skipping the bread!

Buffy - wow! That's a lot of snow! Did you take pics? How do you feel?

Love - it doesn't have much of a taste by itself but has a really creamy texture. I love it with salsa.

Buffy: Yeah for your weight down after your trip..This can the only benefit from being sick, but glad you aren't any worse..See how you feel on Monday is a good idea.

MKay: It's nice when you can get good fish locally. Shrimp is the only thing that tastes okay locally and some crab legs.

Your mom is settling in to the place you took her last fall, right? We didn't miss a move (except downstairs, did we?)

We did 4 WWagon calls..One couple raises miniature horses..So cute and little.. They also have 7 kitty cats.

I was 152 this morning..Thought it would be worse. I need a chisel to chisel off this fat..LOLOL

I'm Back!!!!

I reluctantly am back from vacation. We had a wonderful time but had some really weird weather there too. 3 days of rain in the 2 weeks which is unheard of at this time of year. It didn't stop us though. It was warm rain and we just went sightseeing those days instead of the beach.

Of course I'm up but not too awfully much. 151.6 this a.m. I have a hard week though. Dinner theater, lunch with Dad and then American Heartland Theater with my gal pals. Yikes!!

I did a quick run through of what I missed.

MK, I take enteric coated fish oil from Costco. No backtalk from it and it seems to work well. We take it more for maintenance and joints not cholesterol but it's good.

Buffy, thank goodness your DGS is ok. What a scare that must've been for him.

Carolyn, Good job hanging in there. Those Mexican restaurants and the Italian ones are the hardest ones. And of course, my favorites. The balloon sounds so cute.

Love,
Great pics!!

Lola, welcome back!!!!

Cindy, your garden sounds wonderful. We saw a cute little garden planted between 2 hotels right at the beach. Amazing how much they had growing in that small little space. Along with still blooming Poinsettias!!

I'm looking forward to a day of rest after church.
