My biggest carb was a banana, it had 23.1.

It shows up like this on ****** - so I don't think the fiber is taken out.
What do you think?

Carbohydrate 80.5 23 %
Dietary Fiber 9.6

Did they only do thyroid? And did she ask for a "full thyroid panel"? I think that's what Cindy said you had to ask for to get it "all". I think that's the hardest part is actually getting the full testing you actually want or need. I can't wait to see what she finds out.

MK, maybe you could drink some melted butter?? JK, lol.

I've had coffee/cream, sliced roast beef, homemade veg. soup made with hamburger and only 1 can of mixed veggies and 1 can of tomatoes. That's the only carby thing I've had today though is the veggies in the soup.

Morning.
BABY DAY!! I am so excited, will head down to the hospital after lunch to be there by 2:00. C-Section scheduled at 4:00.
Cold here but dry, so very good and nothing in temps compared to the rest of you.
Sounds like you guys are doing good fighting off the carbs, I haven't gotten serious yet. But, find myself craving salad so that is a good thing.
I have 3 son in laws and love them all but have to give one super duper high marks. Yesterday, I dropped a bottle of bright red nail polish in the back hall where I have white tile and it splashed all over the floor and woodwork and up the wall. DSIL came over and got down on his knees and cleaned it all up with paint thinner. He is my hero, that would have killed my knees and legs. He da man!
Did a little shopping yesterday, TJ Maxx, one of my fave places is almost like bare!!! They are getting ready for inventory so no new stuff coming in to speak of. Looks funny for that store. Stocked up on hairspray at Ulta, it was buy 2, get one free.
Hope Beth has thorough results on her test and finding a doctor who can treat her correctly.
Be back tomorrow to tell you all about new baby!

Good morning..

Hi..

You know, Mary Kay..for me, if I have a big carb..like a whole nanner, it makes me gain. The deal is that your body grabs those carbs and holds on to it like crazy when you are on a LC diet. For me, eat carbs=gain weight.
If you only would have had 1/2 of one or 1/4 of one, you might not have
noticed much difference in the scale.

Sandy: I think they do TSH, Free T4 and Free T3..that's what I had her order.
You can order any kind of blood test through Health Check and you go to the lab and they email your tests to you. If she is low on the Free T3, I have to find a doctor in KCity who will treat the low T3 or she might have to come down to my doctor in Coffeyville..Who knows???

Buffy: We are all awaiting the new little one..I'll be praying for a good easy C-Section with no problems.. Of course, we want pictures...You do have great soninlaws..Mine is very helpful, but so far away..

I was up a bit today from my low 151..

Dd gave me Jillian's Shred..DVD..OMGoodness..I used to be able to do alot of jumping jacks in the olden days, but not so much anymore.

Okay...It was 6 degrees this morning, clear as a bell, just a tiny skiff of snow and NO SCHOOL here and many other towns? What was that all about? The roads were clear, too.

It's terrible here. Snow and now the wind is really blowing and our power went off in the middle of the night for a few hours. That was scary!

Snow, snow and more snow!

Schools are closed!
I hear the roads are awful, but since I changed my hair appointment to tomorrow, I don't care!

Carolyn - Thanks. No bananas today!

Sandy - yep, that's what it looks like here too!
Our wind is supposed to kick it up tonight.

Buffy - Can't wait!!!

Right now the wind is blowing the snow back onto the areas DH blew off this a.m. He doesn't think our snow blower is going to make it through this winter. And since I feel trapped inside today I feel like all I want to do is eat! So I'm looking at swimsuits, lol.

Twas the Month After Christmas

'Twas the month after Christmas, and all through the
house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibbled, the eggnog I'd taste
All the holiday parties had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I walked to the store (less a walk than a
lumber).

I'd remember the marvelous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely rared,
The wine and the rum balls, the bread and the
cheese
And the way I'd never said, "No thank you, please."
As I dressed myself in my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt--
I said to myself, as I only can
"You can't spend a winter disguised as a man!"

So, away with the last of the sour cream dip,
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
'Till all the additional ounces have vanished.

I won't have a cookie, not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a long celery stick.
I won't have hot biscuits, or corn bread, or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry.
I'm hungry, I'm lonesome, and life is a bore---
But isn't that what January is for?

Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year to all and to all a good diet!

Hey kids, I got an email from Cindy:

rHi Everyone, Just a quick update as our trip to Cairo winds down and we head out to Mali for the medical mission portion of this trip. We went to Alexandria today. It sits at the headwaters of the Nile on the Mediterranean sea. We went to the Citadel, a fortress on the Mediterranean, the Catacombs, which were built in the 2nd century AD (they were the second coolest thing, next to the pyramids) and had the most fantastic carvings in limestone and paintings on the walls, a collapsed (read, destroyed) temple built 200 BC, and the presidents garden. It is less crowded (read cleaner) than Cairo but the people have been more than gracious, well, except a couple of cab drivers but that's another story. Tomorrow is Old Cairo and a couple of the mosques. We are being brave and taking a local train as if coming to Cairo isn't brave!! This has been a fantastic trip, what with going inside the pyramids, the sphinx, the museum and the bizarre, oh, and the Nile dinner cruise where I got to dance with the belly dancer on stage (she was better). Next year (!) I would love to go into Luxor and the Valley of the Kings and Aswan at the end of the Nile and perhaps dive the Red Sea. My love to all. Tom, keeps your phone on you as I will call within 12 hours!! Oh, and it's sunny and 70 here!! Cindy

Morning everyone.
I am still on my new grandbaby high so woke up and got up early. I told DD I probably wouldn't come to the hospital today, it is about 45 minutes from here, but not sure I can stay away. Her inlaws are in town and I wanted to give them their time with her and the baby. The inlaws, who can afford to shop whereever they wish, went to Neiman's yesterday and got some beautiful, beautiful baby clothes for our new little bunny. I told DD's MIL and SIL's that they were officially in charge of dressing this little girl from now on, they are so good at it :-).
Cute poem MK, although I feel bad for you that your weight is now 1455, that must be a tad uncomfortable
Carolyn, thanks for sharing Cindy's note, how exciting her trip sounds.
It is 15 degrees here in Dallas this morning, very cold for us but will warm up daily from now on so it really isn't bad. Will probably be back in the 50's sometime next week.
Sandy, keep looking at swimsuits and looking forward to your trip south where it is warmer!!!

Congrats on the new little Ava, Buffy! She sounds beautiful!
We have big babies too. My kids were 8.11 and 8.1 and DD's were the exact same! How strange is that? I had them both the reg. way and so did she. I weighed 9.2. So see, I started out "up", lol.

So bitter cold her this a.m. I think I won't go out again. Maybe later, but not this a.m. I need to go workout and then tan but it's terrible. And it's snowing.....again! I don't think it's supposed to accumulate but it's been snowing for over an hour. Big giant flakes.

No snow here, but no school either..I met a teacher friend of mine and she said the reason they don't have school when it's so cold is to protect the kids from their parents who will underdress these kids and make them walk to school in the frigid temps.
Isn't that amazing????

Little girls are so much fun to dress..aren't they???

I got another email from Cindy..I will post it in a minute.

Okay..here are Beth's thyroid test results..I also posted on the thyroid board to see what Pam thinks.
