Much more in depth MK. We did an overview of all of salvation history in only 8 weeks through the old and new testaments. Now we're doing the book of James for 8 weeks. One book! Only 5 chapters. Quite a difference, huh?

Wow, that's now 3 people I've heard of in the last month who tore something in their ankle but didn't break it. All on crutches. I wonder if there's a vaccination for that? Lol.
Seriously though, I sure hope you and the others all heal quickly.

I made a Colorado Red Beef Chili in my crockpot today. And it smells heavenly.

I tried on several outfits for DH's Christmas party this weekend, and I still don't know what I'm going to wear. At least I know I have many options, lol.

It's going to be cold, cold and colder. I'm going for warm for sure.

My whole week next week revolves around food. Ay yi yi!! We just have to try to hold on and do our best until January. All this madness should be all over by then for sure, lol.

DD just called and her dh's grandma is near death in the Lawrence hospital and isn't expected to live. The funeral will be in Baldwin..Hopefully, my foot will be better, but I might not make it up there. Grandma led a very happy life and her dh has been gone about 7 years.

Morning gals and Gord if he happens to check in.
You know, it is such a shame that during this season when everyone enjoys getting together and sharing their best recipes and treats, that we all can't just eat whatever we want and not feel guilty and or suffer a weight gain. It is fun to fix all the goodies and share them, away with the guilt!!! I SAY!!
Carolyn, hope you get off the crutches or cane before you have much snow or ice on the ground, that will be scary. Did the Dr. say how long?
Sandy, you should know the book of James and have a very good understanding of it by the end of 8 weeks.
Carolyn, sorry to hear about DSIL's grandma but sounds like she had a good life. That is the important part.
DD#2 who is now 8 months very very pregnant came by yesterday with DGS 19 months, he doesn't talk much yet but is trying to say a lot of words. DD said that when he saw me come out of the house to greet them he squealed with delight! Now, that makes a Grandma happy :-)
Cindy, ouch for sure for your anesthesiologist, wow, that will make work so much harder.
More office work today, didn't get through the pile yesterday but made a dent in it, of course Tinker the cat is laying in that dent sleeping under the desk lamp right now. Hopefully by tonight, I will have most of it cleared away and be ready for the weekend. DF and I are supposed to go shopping Sunday so I want to get my Christmas list made and get a start on it.
I am going to get DH an electric blanket this year, he is always cold. Any brands you receommend? I can't believe how expensive they are, years and years ago when I lived in Iowa they didn't seem so expensive. Isn't that a romantic manly gift, LOL.
MK, that was so nice that you decorated Mom's apartment so she can enjoy it for the holidays.
Have a great day everyone....

Buffy, do you have Aldi down there? I bought one from there and it's great and was only $30!

I'm down with my back again. I'm hoping I recover enough to go to DH's work party tomorrow night. I know he won't go w/o me and I also know he wants to go and feels like he's expected to go, so I'm hoping.

Yes, I think KU needs a thinner coach, lol. He really was an embarassment to sports I think.

So sorry to hear about Shawn's grandma.

Speaking of cold hubbies..I got Gary a Snuggie for Christmas..He will laugh at first, but then enjoy it I'm sure..Yes, I think that $30 is a great price for electric blankets..My minlaw used them all the time..No heat upstairs in the farm house.

On my foot, the doctor said 3 whole days with my food up/ice, etc..Then I will see how it is..I go back next Wednesday.

I totally agree with "Why can't we enjoy the food during Christmas syndrome." I think moderation is the key...like WWers..

Sandy: Gosh, we are both in tough shape..How far do you have to travel to the party?
Hopefully, you can make an appearance..eat, then leave..

The party is downtown and we usually stay about 3-4 hours with 90% of that time standing. Which really hurts my back, so we'll see. I could be much better tomorrow. I'm going to try to keep positive. But if I go, I will eat! That's a given, lol.

We keep our house very cold at night so we love our electric blanket. I set mine on low but DH really cranks his side up, lol.

We keep our house 68 at night, but I still have flannels and blankies..and a cat.

Hi,

Good morning..Anyone Christmas shopping today? I'm still keeping my foot up as much as I can so I can all better next week...

Got my cards done, so that was a good thing..

No weigh-in till the swelling goes down..

How is your back, Sandy?

How is your swelling?

MK: Of course, your dh is from MO.. That's why you go there for Tday..

My swelling is down, but still hurts to walk a long time on it, so I'm not going to the children's rehearsal at church this morning..In fact, I'm staying home and keeping my foot up.

What did you all think of the Amanda Fox verdict? I have no idea if she did it, but the rule is don't get arrested overseas..

My back is still not good. At all! It might be 10% better. I don't think I'll be able to make the Christmas party tonight but I hope I can convince DH to go w/o me. He really doesn't like to do that but I know he enjoys going to visit with everybody.

Good idea Carolyn to stay home and keep your foot up. Probably it'll get better much faster if you follow Drs. orders.

Oh my, somebody has actually found a Chiefs And a Royals fan????? I thought they were extinct. That is a real find!! Call CNN, 60 Minutes, etc. Lolol.

Morning dear friends.
Feet, backs, ouch! Take care of them so they don't get worse. Too bad about DH's party Sandy, hopefully he will go ahead and go.
The annual Elk's Christmas party is tonight and for the first time in years, DH doesn't care if we go or not. I haven't decided yet, but it is up to me. Can't get excited about same ole, same ole.
I wasn't surprised about the Amada Fox verdict, but like you Carolyn, have no idea if she is guilty or not but it would be very scary to get in trouble in a foreign country. If she is guilty, then she deserved it, what they did to that poor girl was horrible. If not, then what a pity she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Snuggies, they are tempting, and so much fun to make fun of, LOL.
We don't have an Aldi's here, is it kind of like a Sam's or Costco? I will look to see if maybe Sam's has a electric blanket, that might be a good place for a good price.
I am staying in again today, still working on that desk that doesn't seem to be going down much, papers just keep sneaking upon it.
Shopping tomorrow.

Hi..

LOL..Sandy...There are alot of Chief fans around here, but probably not too many Royal fans..

Hi Buffy: I'm sure Sam's has an electric blanket.

Put my birdfeeder up..It hangs over the yard, but is attached to the deck with a clamp..
The local squirrel population has found it but they have to work for their seeds..hang upside down, etc..

Sandy: I do think you would be miserable at the party and you are smart..I hope your dh goes and has fun..

Oh, Carolyn, i should put up a bird feeder in front of a window for the DC's! I bet they would love it.
This is going to be a bad weekend. Mexican lunch today with my friends daughter, BF's Christmas party tonight and Mexican dinner with friends tomorrow night. Then I'm free until the 19th so maybe I can recover. Then 2 weeks in Africa.....I may be eating a lot of pigeon!

Well, I talked DH into going to his party w/o me. He's not real happy about it but I told him he should go. I really wish I was able to go too but I don't think I'd last very long at all. So I'll just stay home and lay here and watch more TV. Or finish the books I'm reading. My DD came over and cleaned up my kitchen for me. That was so very nice of her and I'm sure DH really appreciated her doing that too.

Cindy: Alex is entertained for hours with our birdie feeder. We got one that clamps on the deck and hangs over the yard, but he still enjoys it immensely..

Girls and Gord: I do think the next few weeks are going to be challenging food-wise..and Mrs. Santa isn't a very good example for us, is she?

Good for you, Sandy..I'm sure he will have a great time with his co-workers..KState plays tonight..Not on tv, but we will listen on the radio.

Made some oopsie rolls..having a burger for dinner..

I guess Sandy, you are gimpy and I am limpy.. Anyone NO shoes fit for church, so I think I'll wear a black ballet type bedroom slipper on my bad foot and a black flat on the other. We'll see how it works..I need to go to Walmart, but I guess dh can help me shop a little..

As long as we don't become "blimpy" we'll be fine, right? Lol. Sounds like a great shoe plan, just don't over do it and undo your healing progress. Is it snowing or icing there yet? I think we're supposed to get some tomorrow afternoon. Yuck!!

Sandy: Blimpy is not good...None of us Divas want to become blimpy over Christmas, do we? KState played really well and I heard KU is no 1..They are talking about KSU being 3 in the Big 12..who knows??

I do have to make a Wallie run, but I think I'll let Gary wheel me around in a wheelchair..no kidding. I think I would kill someone with those electric cart things.

No snow yet..I talked to Beth and she said the same thing..Marcena is still hanging on in the hospice section of the Lawrence hospital..Shawn's parents are up there all the time, of course. They gave them a room to stay in, which is very nice.

Have a great Sunday.. How's the back today? Are you going to chiro this week?

Morning!

How are Limpy and Gimpy today??

Yesterday was great! I went to see

with DD25 and we did lots of pricing and a little shopping.

I'm feeling better about Christmas - now I just need to buy for someone besides DH!

LOL, Limpy, Gimpy and Blimpy!
Slept well last night, first good nights sleep in several nights but unfortunately, to do so I had to take a pill and I don't want to have to take a pill to sleep, but, after several restless nights I did and oh, it felt so good. I have tried all the safe remedies and sometimes nothing works. Bought this relaxing cream of Dr. Weil's at Origins, alas, that didn't even help. Have taken melatonin, valerian, the works, arrggghhh! Wish the RX drug wasn't a habit forming one and I could just take it every night and be done with it.
Going shopping with my best friend today, we are really looking forward to our day out. We have our trip all mapped out, the stores in order, I have a half priced coupon for Johnny Carino's for lunch and then we will end up at a Brighton Christmas event at 6:00 this evening, where they will have refreshments and a drawing, yada yada. Hopefully, I will get a few Christmas gifts along the way as well as the printer ink I need, the hair spray I like which is on sale, the odor elimator thingies from Bath & Body which I use near the litter box, the returns I need to make, etc., etc., etc. We are starting out from my house at 11:45 so we can begin when the stores open at 12. Fun day.
Finally got everything on my desk cleared with just a few things that need to be done during business hours, in a neat pile and a list made of everything that needs to be done Monday. Then, if I just keep it caught up I should be good through the holidays.
I love bird feeders and we used to have lots of Doves that came every afternoon around 5:30 to our back yard, until one year a hawk took up residence in our back yard and got a couple of the doves, they got smart and moved elsewhere. We used to love sitting out there on nice evenings, having a glass of wine and watching and listening to the Doves as they flew in. I told Dave that they came for happy hour, since our place had free appetizers.
Have a great day everyone.

Has anyone read any of the threads started on EFGT about some diet plan called Stop eating and get thin?? There's 3 of them in a row and they sound like spam.

It was SPAM and I reported all 3 posts.
