Morning peeps!
![]() ![]() ![]() to our dear Carolyn! You don't look or act like the old 60, the new 60 year old women are much younger, active and FUN!!!Oh, love getting a new computer, I couldn't wait to get it up and running and macs are supposed to be so awesome, I haven't ever had one but people who do love them. Sandy, I even love getting new washer/dryers, my last set is white as well. Today I take a big load of clothes to the consignment store, haven't done this before so not sure what all they will take but hope I get at least some money for some of them. Gotta run, my appointment there is in an hour.

![]() ![]() ![]() to my dear friend Carolyn. And no, you don't look 60 at all. 60 is the new 40!!! Aren't we lucky? I'm not far behind you at all.Dad liked what he saw and heard at the retirement place. It's just letting go of the house and ALL HIS STUFF that is giving him pause. He has all the knowledge and the figures and now he just has to think about it and decide what he wants to do. I can only pray about it now and hope that whatever he decides will be what's right for him. MK, I have no idea why visits with Mom are so hard, but I certainly do know that they are. I sometimes feel like I wasn't near patient enough with my mom and that I didn't spend near the time with her that she would've liked for me too. But it was hard....and I did the best I could do at the time. As I'm sure you are too. ![]() Buffy, I've often thought about trying those consignment shops but it seems like such a hassle. I'll be interested to hear how you come out. I think I'd feel terribly rejected if they didn't want my stuff to sell, .

Thanks Sandy!
![]() Buffy - I've done consignment before. It is a pain. AND they don't pay you until it sells. Whatever doesn't sell they give back to you. I may just do all Salvation Army. |

Hi gang...
Thanks for all the birthday wishes...Much appreciated..Gary is taking me out again.. Well, I give my clothes away to the Clothes Closet, but if I had some really nice things, like Buffy has, I might want to try the consignment shop and get a little bit of money. MaryKay: I hear you on the mom visit. Is her AD getting worse? My mom was slightly grouchy when she started getting it, but then mellowed out with meds... Friend Dianne and I are heading for KCity ...Her son's bday is tomorrow and I will stay with Beth/Shawn, then head home. Not time for a Sandy visit, unfortunately. We will take the Garmin in case we get lost.. Well, today I was the Brownie Fairy. I made Ina's brownie recipe from the Food Network Challenge and passed them out to my friends and my knitting class. I did eat 2 (that was lunch). They were extraordinarily rich. I guess when you are 60, you can eat 2 brownies for lunch and call it good..

Yes you can Carolyn. And I hope you enjoyed every single morsel too. Have fun in KC. I'm sorry we won't get to enjoy our coffee-time this visit but I totally understand. If you get too lost just give me a call and I'll try to direct you, lol.

Hi gang..
Had another dinner out..It was very low carb..Our local Italian restaurant will do a carb-less dish..You can add whatever you want..meatballs, veggies, cheese, and they bake it in a dish with spaghetti sauce..Very nice and you don't miss the pasta at all. Catch ya later on.. |

Morning peeps.
Congrats Dede on the 3 lb loss, however much pain you had to go through to achieve it. Sandy, if you Dad liked the retirement home, then he is moving in the right direction. DH and I are already starting to feel the need to declutter, maybe that is the beginning. I have always cleared out things but DH was such a hoarder, it is interesting that he is beginning to slowly feel the need to clear out. Ok, I took about 60 items to the consignment shop. She warned me that sometimes people are disappointed in what she will and won't take so I was prepared to take most of it home but she did take 40 pieces, set 10 aside that she told me to bring back in January for spring and 10 that she said she wasn't interested in. Of course, I am sure some of the 40 won't sell and even when it does, with the cheap prices and her cut, it won't be much but still, it is better than nothing. Her shop is VERY nice, arranged like a small dress shop, things are displayed very nicely, not crowded or cluttered at all. While there I bought 2 pair of black pants, which I told you all that I was off to buy about 5-6 weeks ago, she had 2 pair that fit me perfectly and one was $16 and one was $12, like new condition. So, I was happy and am already putting aside things to take back in January. What I pick back up will go straight to our local charity store. DGS 9 came and spent the night last night and DGS 18 months is finally coming today, but he is just spending the afternoon, not the night. So, another busy day. I feel fat this week so am avoiding the scale ![]() |

Morning all!! I just booked my hotel and tours for Cairo in January. It will be an experiance to say the least. 1 week in Cairo then 1 week in Mali for the medical mission. What a cultural experience. Tom is concerned about my blond hair so i have purchased a couple of head covers and will take a couple large scarves. Being a Muslim country, women who are covered are considered moral so no bathing suit this trip!!

Morning, or afternoon I guess.
Cindy, wow, that sounds like a very interesting trip. Stay safe. Dede, hope you get in to see the Dr., everyone around me has been sick, afraid my turn is coming. Hi Carolyn, Sandy and MK. Leaving in just a bit to pick up lunch and go to school to eat with DGS 9. It was to be a Thanksgiving feast of turkey, etc. at the school but he forgot to turn our names in, so I am now picking up subway for us, LOL. He was upset that he forgot but is in the 5th grade now and must start learning to be responsible. Can't hardly stand the thought that he will be going into the big, mean world of middle school next year. DGS 18 months came yesterday, he let me rock him for an hour after his nap, very unusual for him and great bonding time for us. DH and I are going to the casino tonight, we have tickets for Ron White, the comedian. Hope he is good and not to raunchy. Should be a fun night. Have on one of my "new" consignment shop pair of pants today, I LOVE them, they fit like a glove, very comfy but look great. Will be checking out this brand for other items, I know the store that carries them, they are very good quality. Rainy here too, dreary day. |

I 2nd that opinion MK. In fact I had 2 margs with dinner and think I really could've used a 3rd. But I passed. I'm ready for this week AND next week to be over and maybe even the week after.
Carolyn, Lidia's is a cool place to eat. We've had good and mediocre food there but I love the ambiance. I'm glad you had a good time. Penney's Outlet??? That's one of my fav stores and only about 2 miles away. It's one of those place where you either finds tons to get or nothin'. I'm glad you were able to score. Buffy, I'm so glad you have some grandkids close. I can't imagine how my life would've been without mine here. I'm about ready for great grandkids now. As soon as they're ready that is. |

Gosh, MKay..Hmmm..how does she get the scissors to do that? She is a little debil, isn't she??
Yup, we will all be busy doing cleaning and cooking (even if we eat somewhere else)..I had 2 diet cokes for lunch.. Yup, we had the trio..at Lidias..One dish was rather bitter, but the other 2 ravioli dishes were good..I am askeered to get on the scale. |

Okay, Sandy..it's going to be a tough day for the KS kids..KU plays Texas..and KSU plays Nebraska... ![]() ![]() Hugs all around.. |

Carolyn - I thought I had all the sharp objects removed from her room, but I must have forgotten something!
They wanted me to come over and talk to her while they put another bracelet back on her. Um . . . NO! ![]() I'm not driving 2 hours for a 5 minute procedure! So I talked with her on the phone while they did it. Yelled at her actually! The doors are locked and you need a code to get out. They think she might wander out after someone else who has already pushed in the code. They're supposed to only be removed with a special tool. Yeah, right. Sigh ![]() Today I have to help set up for the church anniversary party that's tonight. So my whole day is full! Sandy - where is Lidias?

Lidia's is not too far from Crown Center. Down in the "freight district" by City Tavern. I don't know the address but I know how to drive there, lol. I'm sure your KC relatives know where it is. Are you coming to KC for T-day this year? Maybe you all can visit Lidia's while you're here. I still prefer Garozzo's, but Lidia's is good. And of course, famous as well.
I've not been a very good Pilgrim either. I'm still in my "safe" window but it wouldn't take too much to bump me right out of it either. I did actually get my Christmas cards addressed last night. I don't even remember the last time I sent out cards so I'm very proud of myself. I'm catching up on laundry today with my new washer. How fun....NOT. DH is working so I'm just going to try to get some extra stuff done around here. Maybe even the tree!! |

This new washer is NOT fun. They installed it wrong and it leaked all over the place!!! And DH is working today so it was all up to me.
![]() Now my back is killing me!! But I didn't notice it until the 2nd load was almost done so at least the laundry is done, lol. |

Sandy - I wish we could go to Lidia's! I want to go to Zona Rosa on Friday (so yes, I'll be in KC again this year!
)I know where Crown Center is - but couldn't get there by myself! I have my mom's Christmas cards addressed and her letter written and copied. Mine, on the other hand . . . . ![]() |

Hi gang..
MKay: O my goodness, your mother is a houdini..Now, really, if normal people are watching the doors, they make sure people don't walk out with them. At Betty's nursing home, we never had that problem. I'm sure your mother thinks she is rather funny. One time my mother locked my sisinlaw out of the house and was snickering through the window. Well, we had a bulkhead on the outside of the house and Jeannie went through that and came up through the bathroom..Mom was totally shocked!! Yes, I do vote for Garazzo's myself. I think the menu is better and there are more choices..very nommie.. Sandy; Good grief on the new washer.. What a mess..Well, I bought 2 boxes of cards today..I think I might need more. I really should start addressing them..Good idea, Sandy. Made a pumpkin bake with ricotta instead of the cream cheese to see what happens.. Hugs all around.. Carolyn |

Good morning..
On my new puter so I don't have to wait 10 minutes for it to load.. Well, I was down a pound to 153..now have to be a perfect Pilgrim until Thursday. No lunches out planned, (except for today), so I should be okay. How's everyone doing??? What's happening on Thanksgiving? We are having it with Gary's brother at his home. DS and her hubby will stay here Wed and go over to his folks (same town) for dinner. So, we will get to see them Wed night..(after their WW class). |
