Yes, I saw that poor woman. And she does have a wonderful attitude. I was very impressed by her.

Cindy, if your friend doesn't like her wig or if you ever hear of anyone else needing one, there's a gal who lives out south a little ways that has a shop called Wigged Out. Her wigs are Hollywood quality! My friend who just got done with her chemo and radiation got 2 from her and you honestly can't even tell they are wigs. I hope your friend won't even need hers though.

I bet the red stuffed peppers are tasty and beautiful!

I hate painting! And my dad was a professional painter so I never really had to do it if I didn't want to. But now he can't do it much anymore and we sure don't want to have to do it, so that's why we got the siding. We already have the vinyl, tilt in windows so now we should be all set for our old age, lol. If we could just find a lifetime stain for our deck.

Speaking of wigs..My friend's dd had to have one and got a synthetic..much easier to care for than a real hair one..

I need new windows, Sandy...Would love the tilt-out ones. Now, can you get a tax credit for the siding???

Morning!

DD25 is coming over today - we're hitting some Christmas Charity sales.
Always fun!

This morning I have to help at DD23's sorority for the Initiation Breakfast.

DS17 dilemma - soccer has been over for a while now, and he's doing scholastic bowl, but he hasn't been back to swim practice. It's always been for a good reason - usually homework - but I hate to have him give it up.

Sigh.

Anyone up?

Hi..

I'm up and heading out to find some new people home for a WW call or two. Sounds like you are busy already today, MK..

Senior year is full of stuff..Brett loved Scholastic Bowl and that was his winter sport, after football. I guess it's up to DS if he wants to give up swimming or not..Will he be looking for a swimming scholarship for college???

Okay..big game..on the radio..(grumble)..Kansas State and MO..and Nebraska and Kansas are playing on tv down here..Shawn will have his Huskers flag flying today.

Sandy thanks for the tip. I guess hair loss is hit and miss with this type of chemo. I guess Tom who was co-founder of Netrition just passed away 2 days ago from brain cancer. He was 42. It was also what Ted Kennnedy had. Very devastating disease.

Morning peeps.
We have brick with some wood and that wood has to be painted. I like outdoors painting where you don't have to be real particular, like say a barn or something, LOL. We have the tilt out vinyl windows, which are wonderful and I still don't wash them nearly enough. They need it badly right now. But then, it always rains again, hmmpphhh!
DGS 18 month tornado didn't get to come, he was not feeling well yesterday and has a slight fever so him mommy kept him home. He is coming to visit one day next week.
Not sure what plans I am going to have for the rest of the weekend.

Yes, Cindy, our Tom passed away..so young. He was really concerned about health, etc..So you just never know.

We did 4 WW calls this morning..Yipee.. Then I have a Jordan Essentials (soap) party to go to..I hate those "parties", but this is a good friend, so I will get some almond soap..

Buffy: You dodged the little tornado for a few days..Now you can rest up.

So sad about Tom!

Carolyn - he's only a junior - I thought we had another year!
Did you buy soap?

Buffy - any pics of your little tornado?

Busy, busy weekend. We really didn't do much but I feel like I was busy the whole time. And tomorrow is massage day! I can't wait either.

Tuesday my dad and I are going to talk to the retirement center "just to see what they have to offer". But that's a huge sign of progress so I'll take it. I really hope it goes well. And then the following Tuesday is his shoulder replacement/carpal tunnel surgery. If all goes as planned.

Morning!

Sandy - it will make him feel better! Sometimes seniors have these wild ideas about going to the "home". I'll want an update!

Good luck with his surgery next week too!

It's raining here-again.
Time to become a duck again!

Morning folks, mind if I join in?

I've been doing Atkins for quite a while and getting no where lately. I saw thi
area and have been reading and following you for a week or two. You seem really supportive. I'm 45, 5'9" and 204lbs.

Atkins had always worked for me, but for some reason about 4 months ago
my body decided no more! So, now, I'm cutting my protein way back and for what I have planned to eat today I'm at:

fat 84%
Protein 14%
carbs 3%

This entails

coconut oil, coffee, heavy cream, cream cheese muffin, salad, dressing, 5oz steak and cheese stick.

I never realized how much protein(never looked - only counted carbs!) I was eating and how difficult it is to cut back. I've yet to get as low as the calculator says I need to be, but still trying. Wish me luck, and nice to meet you!

DeDe

Welcome DeDe, And yes it's very hard to switch our brains to less protein after Atkins. But just do the best you can and it'll come. Don't beat yourself up over it for sure!

Thanks MK. And I'm in my duck suit here too. Yuck! I want last week's weather back.

Hi guys..

Made a quick trip to visit kiddos in KCity..Gary had a business meeting at night there..
While he was at the meeting, I bought a Mac for myself with the help of my soninlaw, who put all the stuff on it..So, hopefully, dh and I can plug it in and have it work here.

Welcome Dede.. You know..we all had to learn the sad but true story about protein..

Hugs all around..Our cabling (deck) guy is supposed to come today..in the rain..I have to leave him a plug in..

Catch you all later after knitting.

Welcome Dede!! I don't follow EFGT as one thing I have learned here is YMMV however, even with my current WOE, I find that too much protein leaves me sluggish and looking for something else even when i'm full. Cutting protein to a manageable level was difficult as I always made it my main component of the meal and put a few things around it but i had to change that and it takes some work. Many LC items are high protein. I love ****** as it helps identify when I've gone over the limit.
Rainy and dreary here girls. We are going to see the movie 2012 tomorrow. I'm going with my BFF and her 2 daughters.

I loved The Changeling, but yes it was very sad. I don't think I even want to see 2012. I've read mixed reviews.

I guess we're now going to have to get a new washer. I think I'll go to NFM and see if they have any floor models or odd ones left. I just want white. I hate buying stuff like that.

Hi..

Good morning..My new puter is sitting upstairs in the box...Methinks we will wait for Brett to come home next week..I can wait..

I was 151 this morning.............I'd love to break into the 40 code..

My dd and her dh are back on WW..They do this plan very well together. Her dh loses really quickly..She is like me (thyroid problems).

Oh...my techno brother sent me a CD of our wedding..31 years ago for my bday.
He had originally taped it, but it is nice to have it. and remember what we all promised..

That is a wonderful gift Carolyn. How thoughtful.

Well after a whole day of shopping all over the place, I hadn't found anything. Then I saw Best Buy on the way home and thought I'd check that one last place. I found a good buy on a floor model GE washer. I hope it's a good one. I always get white too. Easier to replace them one at a time that way. My dad went with me and I think he got way more running around than he bargained for, lol. We ate Chinese for lunch so I'm sure I'll be up a bit tomorrow.
