I need help about Eat Fat Get Thin

There are at least two things I can't find a clear answer about.
I actually e-mailed God himself (= Groves) 3 weeks ago because I heard he sometimes answers, but he didnt.

* First, is the limit of 60g carbs "net carbs" or does it comprise fibers? Some say it's 60g total ; some say it's 60g net .

If you eat a lot of fibrous vegetables as I do, it makes a BIG difference, and EFGT isn't clear about it (I have the book)

* Second, I just can't understand the protein requirement. On one hand, Groves says you should consume 1 to 1.5 g proteins per kg of lean body mass. Fine. My LBM is about 45 kg, that should translate into to 45 to 67 g proteins per day. Then, he says proteins should represent 20 to 25% of your diet. That's where the problem begins. My upper limit for proteins (67g) represents 268 cal, which is 20 percent of a 1 340 calories diet. Now, on his diabetes site, he gives the ratio of 15-25%, which is slightly better: the maximum calories I can consume if I follow his instructions goes up to 1787. Problem, I am currently eating 2000-ish cal per day (should I believe fitday), and I'm still slowly losing weight on that, which isn't even my primary goal, since I'm within the normal weight range; I'm low-carbing bc I'm insulin resistant. I am currently following the fat-proteins-carbs ratios he gives in his book, but it means that my protein intake is around 100-125g daily (=20 to 25% of a 2000 cal diet). Much much higher than 67.

Hi..Are you a male or female..? Wow, I'm impressed that you are losing on 2,000 calories a day.

I think Barry has answered the question about veggies somewhere...You are to subtract the fiber, however, the amount of carbs is still different for everyone as is the amount of protein.

Everyone is different and Barry is giving guidelines. His main point is to avoid bad carbs, eat veggies and some fruits, eat proteins, don't be afraid of fat. You might have more muscle or exercise alot and be able to eat above the 67 grams ..Most women eat between 60-80.

Another point his book was making is that when we LC, we need to get energy from fat, not lean protein. Too much protein turns into carbs and for some people that is not good, especially if they are having a healthy amount from their veggies, etc..

I am a female, and I'm not even that active; I'm definitely not muscular. When I said I'm "losing" weight, I mean I lost 3 kg since sept 1, when I started entering my intakes in fitday. This is not "water weight", because I lost this one before I started counting precisely, plus the "loss" is slight but steady. Anyway, my point was, I am not gaining weight. I am amazed myself by that fact, when I see everything I eat.

OK thanks. That's what I was doing already, but I saw the other option from several sources, so I had a doubt (I'm well under 60g net most of the time, but I'm often over 60g total).

I understood that. My point is: how much proteins is appropriate? If I follow the "1 to 1.5 g per kg of LBM" rule, I don't get enough calories for maintenance, and if I follow the "15 to 25% of the calories" rule, the quantities of protein go overboard. What do people on maintenance typically do?
