Hi..

No yoga tomorrow as you have to put alot of pressure on your feet..But I do do the Active Wii for 15 minutes..no running..and some arm stuff..It does hurt a bit..but Gary is taking me out to dinner tonight so I'll feel better, I'm sure.

I just made my favorite snack: LC Tomato Soup for one..
small can of tomato sauce
1/2 can of water
one package of Splenda or
2 tsp. of Splenda
A couple of Tbs. of cream

Heat everything but the cream until hot..Add cream, stir, put in a big mug and enjoy..
It's about 10 carbs or so, but it is very good. You could also make it lower fat.

Hi all. Spent the day with my friends (the one with the brain tumor) 15 year old daughter. We went to the movies last night with her best friend. We went to see Paranormal Activity. She and I are big scary movie fans. We were squeeling! About 1/3 of the way thru, she leaned over and said, "I'm sleeping with you tonight!" (she was spending the night). She woke up in the middle of the night with DC14 standing over her staring at her. Scared her to death, especially after seeing a scary movie. She's a great kid. If I had a daughter, I would want it to be her.

Eating a lot of hospital food so not entirely on plan but had a great baby green salad with chicken strips and roasted pumpkin seeds with ranch dressing. Pumpkin seeds are dangerous! I can eat too many.

Cindy, I'm so glad you are such a big part of your friends' children's lives. They are really going to need a strong shoulder during this struggle your friend is facing.

My granddaughter and I are the scary movie freaks around here. Although we haven't been to see one lately. I bet that kitty was very scary for her. Even w/o a scary movie that would scare me, lol.

Don't sweat your diet right now. You have more to worry about than that right now. Of course, take care of yourself for sure. You know what I mean.

Hugs and prayers,

Morning!

Cindy - what a great thing to do!
I'm sure both of you needed to think about something else for a while.

Today I NEED to clean my mom's stuff out of my family room.
But a friend wants me to go to a movie.
I'm not sure I'll enjoy the movie more than getting part of my life back in order . . . .

Hi all,
Ok, I'm done with LFL. rI just can't deprive myself that much any longer. Although I was loving having fruit. But I was missing fat more. Plus after the initial loss I wasn't losing any more. So back to LC/EFGT type eating. For now anyway.

Hi...

Sorry I missed everyone yesterday..hugs all around..

I NEVER go to scarey movies..I love the DC14 story..I can totally see that..Alex DC12 or so is always in bed with us..by my feet..until he gets hungry..

Sandy and I are meeting tomorrow for a little while..DH has a meeting, so we are doing coffee/etc. until his meeting is over. Then will see DD and her DH and their notsoDcat.
Looking forward to it.. Sandy, can we meet at the Hen House/Starbucks place??

Okay..this is my opinion on WL for those over 50..Eat less at night. Barry says this, too.
Do you think this is the key to WL forever??? According to "Outsmarting the Female Fat Cell" our bodies start storing calories at 5 p.m. while they were burning them from morning to then...Hmmmmm???? But, unfortunately, this is not how my family eats..Big meal at night.

Mary Kay: I totally understand on cleaning your mom's stuff out..Are you giving it away to Salvation Army? or do you have to store and keep?

Sounds perfect Carolyn, Starbucks at Hen House. Call me when you get to Olathe and I can meet you there about the same time you get there, ok? See you then.

We are a "snacking" family. We all have to have a snack mid evening. Very bad habit but a hard one to break too. I just ate low carb today and I feel 100% better already, lol.

Wahhhh, I want to meet you gals.....
I of course have met our wonderful Carolyn, so sometime, when I head to the midwest I will try to make it happen that I can meet more of you.
Had a great time with DD's and DGS's yesterday. The 16 month old is soooo cute, and funny, and interesting at this age. Trying to learn to talk and babbles so earnestly all the time. Mostly though he wants to "drive" the cars, so is always at the door, saying key, key, key, to go out and pretend he is driving a car.
I am a night eater, always have been. I can honestly go most of the day and be hardly hungry but I love to eat at night. And, it is probably habit b/c if I am on the go at night, I really am not hungry, but I love to eat while watching tv, and I know that is a bad habit but at my age, it is not going to change so I just plan for it. On WW, I just save at least half my points for my eve meal and snacks and so far it seems to be working. I was at 206.2 this AM, so it is slowly inching downward. WW of today is NOT a quick weight loss plan but is very livable for those who chose it or can do it. But, I have to agree that low carb is probably one of the very best plans out there for how it makes you feel. I just needed this change for right now. And, since the byetta shots make me crave fruit and not care so much for meat, it works for me right now.
I cleaned out my closet and have a huge pile of clothes, most are too big, yay!! that I have ready to take to a resale shop. They do it by appt. only and I can't get in until Nov. 18th so I have to wait, but it will be worth it to try to get a little return on them instead of just giving them all away. Found a nice shop and hopefully I will need to shop there myself for some smaller things. Right now I still have enough stuff that fits. Except I do need a pair of black dress pants, the ones I have been wearing have been too big for quite awhile and now they are really too big.
Later peeps!

Hi gang..

All ready and packed..

We wish we all could meet..someday.. Buffy, you need to pass thru KC when you head to IA and MKay needs to stay longer at Ttime..

Buffy: That is great on your weight..We KNOW you will be in Onederland by 2010..

I nearly fainted when I got on the scale..It was 149 this morning..What???? We did have a nice lunch and for dinner one rib and some pumpkin pudding. So, I'll have to be careful tonight..I'm sure it was a big fluke, though..

Hugs all around..See ya soon, Sandy.

I'm back.
Another day gone!

DS20 has 2 ear infections, a sinus infection, and no allergies.
I had a PEO meeting and then took DS to get glasses.
Came home at 4:00, talked to the neighbor and here I am.

Are there pictures?

Sorry, we forgot to do pictures. We got so busy visiting and then we went to a few stores to shop and I didn't even think about it until I was on my way home. Maybe if she comes to her DD's for T-giving and if you're in town then maybe we can all meet for a quick cup of coffee or something. And anybody else who wants to join us is more than welcome! Carolyn's not sure yet about T-giving but it's something to keep in mind.

Morning!
For me today ~ Circuit class, pick up DS20 for his haircut and grocery store trip and lunch together - then hopefully he'll get on the road back to school and I can get on with my life!

Book Club was supposed to be tonight, but too many people couldn't make it. So, a few of us are meeting for a margarita anyway!

Anyone awake?

I'm up!! I know trying to meet on a holiday is very hard. Especially when you're traveling to a relative's house. It's even hard when you live here, lol. Someday we'll make it happen.

The sun is shining and it's raining! My grandma always used to say if it rains when the sun's shining it'll rain at the same time tomorrow. We did get a couple of really nice days but it looks like we're in for a couple more gray days now.

I have a massage this afternoon. And oh how I'm looking forward to that.

MK, I'm going to make your sausage pumpkin soup today. Hopefully DH will eat it, lol. Do you have any tweaks for it or do you make it as posted?

Well, after being back on the LC/EFGT track I'm back down to the full 8 pounds lost that I'd lost initially on L4L. And I'm so much more satisfied too.

Morning peeps!
Wow, Carolyn! 149, me thinks you have your thyroid meds perfect, yes? And Sandy, you are doing great as well. Not sure if I will see onederland by 2010 but surely sometime in 2010. Oh, it bounces up and down, up and down, then goes a teeny bit downward, so hoping.
Going to meet my sister in Vegas on Friday, we are staying until Tues. so not sure how well I will do on eating and we do love to drink our wine together and talk and talk and talk, but we sooo seldom get to do this that I will enjoy it and deal with the effects when I get home.
MK, sorry for DS and the infections, bet he was feeling really miserable.
I can't seem to get enough sleep lately? I go to bed early, get up late and still feel tired. I should get my blood test results back today or tomorrow, will see what tsh is doing. Maybe it is hibernation mode, who knows. But, I feel good overall so would rather feel good and a little tired than wired and not feel good. Or, feel perfect, that would be nice.

DS20 is on his way back to school - well he's left here anyway.
Fingers crossed it only takes 4 hours!

Buffy - Vegas sounds fun!!

Sandy - i make it as posted - though I usually use sage sausage now instead of the hot - DH has "new" taste buds and can't handle the heat!
Get some sweet bread for him to dip in it and he'll love it!

Hi gang..

Got back this afternoon and am catching up..It was fun meeting up with Sandy, as always.. We took the kids to Garrazzo's..the original one, I think. It was wonderful.
No one could finish their meals, so the kids will be eating the leftovers all week. Is that your favorite, Sandy? and have you been there Cindy?

So...I'm askeered to step on the scale..So, I'll save that for the morning.

MKay: Poor DS20..those hurt. Hopefully, he is well medicated by now.

I was thinking of the pumpkin sausage soup, too..I agree with the sage flavor, too..I will look at the recipe again..I remember how great it was.

Buffy: We know you will be in Onderland in 2010.. We will have a giant party on the board when you hit it.

Cindy: Sending hugs to you and your dear friend.

Hi Vanilla..How is it going??

Did Zilla disappear???

Garozzo's is "one" of my favorites. I have so many it's hard to keep track. What did you order? I love their chicken spiedini! And calamari of course. And I love the salad dressing.
Ok, now I'm hungry.
I made the soup. It's yummy and I haven't even added the cream yet. I wish DH would get home. I'm really hungry.

Hi Cindy.

Buffy, I know you'll be in Onederland by Jan 1. I just know it!!

MK, I don't think I'd like it with hot sausage anyway. And I like hot foods. How is your DH doing? Everything still going well? I certainly hope so. And I hope your son gets better quickly too.

BTW, my DGD ended up NOT having a bacterial infection so she has to go to a gastro Dr. Thursday to see what's going on. She also was getting sick with stuffiness, congestion, tired symptoms and we were afraid of h1n1 but the Dr. said she just has a cold, not flu. Whew! At least she missed that one for now. She's totally exhausted and dehydrated. They tried to draw more blood but couldn't b/c of the dehydration and then she fainted! Poor thing. I certainly hope they get to the bottom of it NOW!!

Hi...

I had the chicken spiedini, but I had with the linguine alfredo instead of Atkins style..I could only eat 2 of them and half of the pasta..Very good..

Sandy: I am so happy that your DGD doesn't have the H1N1, but that intestinal thing is not good. Hopefully, they will get to the bottom of it. She might have had a tummy virus (which I had 4 times in one year...lasting a week each). Tagamet type stuff was the only thing that helped..and a very bland diet..Let's hope it's just some passing thing.
Prayers to her and wisdom for the doctors.

Time for bed..yawn..

Morning! DS20 made it back to school safely!
AND we had a wonderful visit! Yay!

Today is lunch with a friend - but I can't decide if I should run over to see my mom today or tomorrow . . . .

Sandy - I hope they find out soon what's wrong with DGD!! Is she in the hospital getting fluids?

I even bought Lactaid milk to use in place of the cream, and forgot to put it in!
It's wonderful without it!

Carolyn - you're making me really really hungry . . . .
What's up for today?

Cindy -
How are you?
How is your friend??

No MK, she's back at school! She's so afraid of falling behind we can't convince her to stay home. Luckily she's only an hour away so she comes back for her appts. but then goes right back. Her BFF is her roommate and she drives her here and back and watches over her so at least she's not alone. She's a very stubborn little girl. Or young lady I should say. She's 20 now but I still want to baby her and take care of her when she's sick. That old mothering instinct never leaves.
