How about "shivering in September"! It is a high of 70 tomorrow. Looked at the Farmers Almanac and they said "colder than normal".

Morning!

I love the word "stunning"!

DS17 gets out at 11:00 today - teacher's meeting!

I have some errands to run this morning, and then see if he needs anything this afternoon.
I even want to clean, especially in DS20's recently vacated room!
Then a soccer game at 5:00.

What's everyone up to today?

Ok, official Sept 1. weigh in-147. I guess that's not too bad right after vacation. I think it's 1/2 pound up from Aug. 1 weigh in. [ETA: I went back and checked and I gained 1 whole pound, not a half.] Ugh! I really need to be diligent in the coming weeks. Holiday season will be here before we know it.

I like the word stunning too MK. I think we are all stunning women. And man, sorry Gord. Our amazing sticktoitiveness is very stunning IMHO.

Teacher's meetings already???? Wow! You'd think they could've met before school started wouldn't you? When I worked at the schools it seemed we were always having a teacher's meeting day or in service. I would've just rather had the kids there those days and got out earlier for the summer. Most of them really did seem like a big waste of time and most of the staff felt the very same way. Oh well, of course nobody asked me, lol.

I'm heading to the gym today and then have a few more errands to run. I need to go spend my $20 credit at Kohl's. I wonder if they have iron skillets? I gave mine away a long time ago and I'm thinking I need one now.

Sandy - I thought that too about the teacher's meeting!
And next week is Labor Day - so another day off!

I have no clue about Kohl's and iron skillets!
Let me know what happens!

Hi everyone..

Okay..yesterday I took my T3/T4 meds at 5:30 and went to the drs office at 11:30 for a blood draw. The nurse said that I shouldn't have taken the meds..So, I went back today sans meds for a blood draw. I'll be interested to see what my "true numbers" are on Thursday. Of course, I'm hoping she will jack up my meds so I can lose more easily..LOL..

Sandy, 1/2 pound is great for having a vacation, etc..cookouts, etc..Yippee..Yup, we are all very stunning..

MaryKay: I'm washing Brett's windows and washing his curtains, too..I got him a new comforter for his bed. I wish his room wouldn't get dusty..

Cindy: Now, what meds are you on now????

Hi Buffy and everyone else.

I'm going to make a chocolate bean cake today..

Had a major accomplishment yesterday--for me, at any rate...I'm working really hard on getting over my MAJOR BINGEING...and I ate my 3 meals with NO SNACKS! I know this sounds silly and easy, but for me, this is a major accomplishment...I intend to repeat it again today! Still waiting on my book to arrive in the mail...wish it would get here soon, but I ordered it from a discounter off the internet, so it may take a little longer than if I had ordered it directly from amazon. Oh well...

Hope everyone has a great day!

Carolyn...wonder why the folks on the thyroid board recommend the 5 hour rule and your doc wanted it done differently? Hard to know what to do, isn't it? My doc has never really said one way or another...sometimes, I feel like the patient is educating the doctor, don't you?

Morning peeps!
Carolyn, good for you for saying no, that is one of the hardest things to do but gets easier as we get older and stronger in saying no. It is so easy to volunteer for too many things and then you don't enjoy any of them.
Gettingwell, binge eating used to be a huge problem for me, especially around TOM but really anytime and it was for years. If you have hypothyroid and your meds aren't right it can lead to binges, also it can be emotional, it is a hard beast to tame, many books on the subject. LC does seem to help.
Sandy, I'll bet Kohl's has iron skillets, but not sure. Hardware stores do if you can find one of those.
MK, you are always cleaning something, you fly, fly, fly around, LOL.

DGS comes home to me after school again today so I plan on being home all day. Tomorrow nails, pedicure and I need to shop for socks for DGS.

Hi....

Gettin: Good for you..no snacks is a great rule. Barry doesn't really recommend them either (if I remember correctly). A lot of the WL experts don't..Three (normal) meals a day is often recommended. But, if a person is doing 5 meals a day, it's really 5 tiny meals a day to equal 3 normal meals a day. Very seldom is it 3 normal meals with several snacks thrown in there. I'm going to avoid snacks, too..I'm with ya...

On the thyroid meds, I will be very interested to see my numbers tomorrow. You know many people will go in at 9 to get their blood work done..(after having taken their meds at 7). So, she might say this to avoid any problems of when peeps are taking their meds..

I'm still at 153..Now, this is my normal weight..So, I need to dip down to get to my abnormal weight..or subnormal weight.

A big hug all around.. It's slightly raining here, too. We need it..I guess.

I got a great iron skillet at Kohl's. By Bobby Flay and it has a handle on both sides so it's not quite as difficult to lift it, lol. And it was 1/2 price so I'm happy. I used it last night and it is great.

I've been running around all day with my dad. Groceries, medicine, lunch, pet store. And we went to visit his therapist from when he had his knee replacement. She was really happy he stopped by.

Now I'm home and have no energy left to do what I should. I woke up with a headache early this a.m. and can't seem to totally shake it. I even went for my run/walk thinking it might help. It didn't. But it didn't seem to make it worse either so I'm glad I went. Tomorrow is my gym day.

I made a new Linda Sue recipe tonight. It was fantastic!! Red enchilada chicken. I used boneless thighs instead of breasts but kept everything else pretty true to hers. I fixed a mixed salad with ranch/avocado dressing to go with it. The dressing was fantastic too. I just made up about 3/4 to 1 cup of dressing out of the HVR mix and used cream and mayo to make it. I added about 1/2 tsp of taco seasoning and 1 mashed avocado. OMG! It tasted just like a dressing I had at a restaurant in Mexico with a shrimp salad. Now I want shrimp!

Today is nails and pedicure and a lady elks meeting tonight. I hope I get in a better mood, woke up on the WRONG side of the bed, whew, I am in a bad mood, even the kitties are making me irritable???? What is wrong with me? Oh, I know, that TOM, which for me is exactly during the full moon and a double whammy! Ouch! Step back, do not come near me, you won't like me...... Oh, I'll snap out of it, I just have to say, I even surprised myself when I woke up and found myself in this growly mood.

I'll be back later when I can be nice.....

Hi gang..

Gentle kitty hugs to our Buffy.

Okay, Sandy, I'm making that dressing............I do bet it would terrific with shrimp on a salad, too.

MaryKay: You are our flylady representative.

Okay............went to the doctor..She is extremely nice and will do anything I ask her..
My numbers were really bad since I hadn't taken the meds before testing, as per her instructions. So, she upped me to 3 grains of Westhroid...2 in the a.m. and one in the p.m. and told me to take Idoral with it to help it absorb. I need to talk to Pam..

So, I'll try it for 2 months and retest.

She was impressed on my sugar-free diet and said I was doing everything right..So, I should be losing some weight..SO..We will see how the 3 grains work out for me.

That's my dosage Carolyn, except I take it morning and night, same amount each time. What is Idoral?

I had shrimp today mixed with a little lettuce and stuffed into an avocado with that leftover dressing. It was marvelous! Exactly the way I remember that yummy salad I had in Mexico 3 years ago! I've never forgotten that salad, lol. I think all my memories are earmarked by the food involved at the time, lol.

My DH is having tummy problems. He goes for an ultrasound in the a.m. and then Tuesday he goes for an endoscopy. I have to take him to that one. We have dinner theater Tuesday evening. I hope he feels up to going.

We have Irish Fest this weekend. I guess we're still going to go. He'd thought about canceling but he thinks he feels like it. Our friends from Iowa will be down for that too. I hope it doesn't rain!
