Me, too..Hey, what has helped me a bit is to have a few homemade protein shakes in place of meals..They are quick and easy..However, I do enjoy real food more, but, I'm trying it.
Was still at 151..Don't know if it's a fluke or not. Packing your mom with a smile on your face knowing that she will be safer at her new mom, Mary Kay, right? Oh..I caved and bought Brett 2 plungers for his contacts. I had to send him the local football news plus his rent check, so I did the "motherly" thing. Still knitting my sweater..I am on the sleeves, then I will have Gary take a picture of it and post it if we can figure out how to do it.. It's pretty dark here today...Thunderstorms expected. Hi and hugs all around.

Morning all. I have DC14 on my lap. It is cloudy here, a nice Fall day. Oh, Carolyn, I don't think I ever answered you. No, they still haven't got any leads in my BF's SILs death. Very painful for the family.
The rent at my stable went up to astronomical proportions. Here are some pictures. Remember, the is a horse barn, not a mansion: Peeper Ranch at 91st and Cedar Niles It is beautiful but for what i pay in rent, it would be a very nice house payment for someone. DHOR 9 is staying but DHOR 27 is going to live with my best friend and her horses. She will have her own pasture and go into a barn every night. My BF is so funny. He's distressed at splitting up mother and son. He made me promise to take DHOR9 over to visit his mom ![]() |

Cindy - what a nice BF!! I hope he visits his mom regularly too@!
![]() After everyone talking about their thyroid, I got my results today along with my Lipid Panel. My TSH is 1.193. Is this good? |

This is so spooky..Some person quoted me about the pumpkin shortage on the internet..
In some parts, the Great Pumpkin will be late - Smart Spending Blog - MSN Money Anyway, Cindy..You know your DHOR's might have separation anxiety, but maybe the son will meet a girlfriend horse if his mom is out of the picture and visiting friends. Mary Kay: Your TSH is great..However, did they do Free T4 and Free T3 tests, too? That is a more complete thyroid panel, but very seldom do doctors do them unless you ask. Had a bit of rain..My exercise place has a Wii, so the owner and I play tennis together, which is fun, except she is very good and I always lose. But, I did beat her in bowling. Hi Sandy, Kapri, Buffy and anyone else who might be lurking. |

OMG Carolyn!! Can people do that?
Did you say that? Is the author on LCF??!! ![]() And no, they didn't do any other numbers - it was mainly a lipid panel and he just threw the thyroid in. |

I think anything we post any where is fair game. Have you ever googled your user name? And nothing we say is copyrighted so I guess we're open for quoting, lol.
Is there still a pumpkin shortage. Our local stores have plenty of fresh ones. Busy busy day. Lunch, massage, home to shower, wash hair, then dinner and theater. |

Morning!
I've been eating terribly this week - part of the reason I feel so crappy! Well, that and my cold, and the fact I'm totally overwhelmed! ![]() We have lots of pumpkins here too! |

Is this moving day for your mom, MK? Hope you feel better. I think stress makes us eat bad things. I think you will feel better when she is all settled in and loves it there..What a relief for all of you..
Hey, I'm claiming the 151..Maybe my newer meds kicked in. Another thing I'm not doing is having my favorite coffee with milk drink. I'm doing the 1/2 and 1/2 thing instead..Cafe Breve. Gotta read with my little people today. One is a good reader, one needs help. Exercise, read, eat lunch, and knit..meeting today. What a busy day..LOL Hope everyone is doing okay..It's 50 here..I turned the heat on to take off the chill this morning. |

Boring day here. I have to be here between 10-5 to wait on a delivery and you know it'll come at 5!! I need to clean house so this will give me an excuse....I hope.
I've been eating much better this week. Our kids' BBQ competition/party is this Friday so that'll be a struggle but hope to make good/better choices. And we have a BD party Sat. night. More choices!! |

If pumpkin pie is an issue, WF has canned pureed sweet potatoes for sweet potato pie. I have a pecan maple topping I put on top. This is for holidays or company. Not to be trusted at home alone!
MK, are you on thyroid meds? Over on the thyroid thread, many say they only feel well when their TSH is less than 1. |

Mom is moved in.
It's a gorgeous apartment. We left. Went to dinner. Had a few drinks - I so deserved them. Then - I just got the first phone call (of many I'm sure) - She hates it and is leaving tomorrow! Quote:
No - no one's even mentioned it! |

Mary Kay: You only had a few drinks??? LOL..Yup, I'm sure the phone calls will come fast and furiously. Any change for AD patients is very traumatic at first, but she will settle in after a few weeks. Do they suggest not visiting alot at first? She will just take time to adjust...Praying that she does quickly and makes a few friends.
Well, there is a little grey kitty roaming our neighborhood..She is a half grown kitten.. no tags, etc. I brought her in the house and she and Alex hissed at each other like crazy..Not that I could keep her with our very only kitty, but I wanted to see what happens. I feed her out in the garage and she gobbled the food and water up.. I've decided to take her to the animal shelter because she could be run over and attacked by animals out here. However, they aren't open until 5:30..So I have my cat carrier handy to snag her. |

Well, I took the little kitty cat to the shelter..They made a cute little cage bed for her and put her in isolation..Gosh, there were some other little yellow ones there, too..So darling..
Did my yoga today..It felt good to stretch things that don't normally stretch. How is everyone? How is your mom, MKay??? |

Oh, Carolyn, I hope it was a no-kill shelter. I ended up with 7 cats at one time because people abandoned them. But I know how it is with older cats. They want to be left alone.

I know...I do think they really try to find homes for the kitties. They are a private place run by the townsfolks and volunteers and donations. Our neighborhood has coyotes/fox/bobcats and big giant owls and people go really fast down our hill, so at least the kitty has a chance for a nice home. So our kitties have to be inside kitties..Alex would not be pleased. Our neighbor took the kitty all over the neighborhood to see if anyone wanted it..

Both of my DC's were homeless. DC16 was about 4 months old wondering the streets and DC14 was born under a bush. Considering your indigenous population, it will fare better at the shelter. I'm sure i will be an old cat lady with 35 cats when I get old.

Well, it's time to refill my Armour and I can't find it anywhere!! I'm getting pretty tired of this every time I need a refill. And the pharmacies I checked with don't carry any of the other brands except Armour.
I hope the kitty finds a good home. MK, how did today go for your mom? And for you? Hang in there, I know this has to be so hard. |

Morning!
When I called mom yesterday she seemed fine. DH stopped by on his way home from St Louis and put some things up on the wall for her. At least she didn't dismantle her monitoring bracelet again! I'm feeling cautiously optimistic! Sandy - did you get your refill? Carolyn - I'm glad you snagged the kitten! Cindy - Can I be a cat lady with you? ![]() |

Morning peeps!
I'm afraid I am on my way to becoming a cat lady, with Tinker and the 3 kittens we brought in to tame that have never made it back outside. Tinker still kind of hates them but is getting used to them. Kittens have a chance of being adopted but the adult ones usually don't :-( MK, been thinking about you and your mom, such a hard time for all of you but the right thing to do. Sounds like we can all join together in old age and open a cat shelter.... I had a very nice time in Vegas, what a great comp I had, lovely suite, free food, free limo, free drinks, free dinner, it was awesome! Only thing I paid for was cab fare to go downtown and then bus fare which I rode the next time, once I found out about the bus. Think I may go back with a friend in Oct., this same offer is good through the end of Oct. I started weight watchers online yesterday along with my 2 daughters. I easily maintain at 210 with the byetta so am hoping if I watch what foods I am eating a little better I can lose some more. Just something different, I get bored with one or the other eating plan. H1N1 is going around here like crazy now.

Hi Buffy, it sure sounds like you had fun. I wish I could've joined you, lol. I've been considering incorporating WW into my plan again too. Using points but keeping the fats and proteins up. I can eat more points when I do it that way and still lose and I don't want to fall back into the trap of eating all those sugary treats just b/c they're only 1 point, lol. I just need portion control more than anything.
I finally found my Armour at my dad's pharmacy but they said they're having trouble getting it too and the Dr. only gave me enough for 1 month at a time with 3 refills. I wish I could get a stockpile somehow, lol.

Hi ladies...
Honestly, the shelter had several yellow kittens (my favorite) and I would have snagged them all, too. Gary mentioned that he didn't want another cat last night. Our house is very peaceful with Alex..Mr. Spoiled Pants.. Buffy: Good for you..I think WWers is a great plan..My sisterinlaw lost a bunch of weight on-line and so have several friends of mine...Good luck..You are a kitty mamma. Mary Kay: Glad your mother is behaving herself.. Sandy: There is alot of information on Armour on the Thyroid site. It seems they stopped making it because the new formulation wasn't working for people. I think they were supposed to start making it again. Good luck, friend. Cindy: Alex was a homeless kitty, too from the shelter. He had very humble beginnings... I am sooooooooooo sore from the yoga yesterday. I bought some balm for my legs so I could walk without pain. Myoplex.. Have a great day. |

I let my BF know that the current DC's are not the last cats in the house. When both are gone, I would like sibling kittens so maybe they can be closer than these 2 are. DC16 still hisses at DC14 when she walks by.

Morning!
Yes, the triplet kittens are close and get along great. Siblings are the way to go, or maybe just any 2 kittens at the same time. Cindy, I am like you, told DH once that I have always had a cat, I will always have a cat, enough said! With the WW I want to try to watch which foods I use my points on, I think that is the way to make it a better plan and anymore I find I naturally lean towards those foods instead of the junk when I do WW. I need to read more about the new plan, not that much different than it was but emphasis on "filling" foods. 2 of my DD's and grandson's age 1 and 9 were here for a WW dinner last night. Had so much fun, DGS 1 is a little tornado and the more DGS 9 laughed at him, the more he performed!!! |
