WOE: Low carb
Questions.....help??

This has probably been asked a gazillion times, so thank you in advance for your patience with my questions!

I am new to learning this WOE, and finding it difficult to learn the ratios, etc.

Right now my biggest hurdle is simply finding out the right amount of protein I am supposed to be eating for my size...I went online to several different sites and they all gave me different calculations as to how much protein I should have each day....huh???

Questions:
Is there somewhere most of you use that you trust to get calculations??

When you enter the data into the calculators, do you use CURRENT weight, or GOAL weight??

Also, the sticky titled "Eat Fat, Get Thin percentages and calories" shows that for a 2000 calorie eating plan you should only be eating 100 grams of protein per day...that is only 3.52 OUNCES PER DAY of protein??? That sounds way too tiny.... What am I missing ??

I have read several low carb books now, and read sooo much online...I am still trying to find where I "fit", a WOE that I can do for life, that works for ME. This one, EFGT, seems to be a good fit, but I am finding it a bit difficult to get into the swing of it, as far as percentages, etc.

I have such a long way to go, still, and it can feel overwhelming. I was stuck around 400 for a LONG time...years...and have only recently discovered low carb. I would appreciate ANY help or advice anyone cares to share.

Thank you!!

Hi...

Well, I would aim for 100 grams of protein a day..which is..(divide 100 by 7) and you get
12-13 ounces a day, spread out.

LCing is the way to lose weight and not be starving. Just pick a plan, don't worry about the percentages too much..Just watch your carbs..only eat LC veggies/ a few fruits, protein and some fat. You will do well, I'm sure.

Right now, you can certainly lose on 1800-2000 calories a day. However, as you get smaller, you might have to cut back.

Good luck and just start..

Thanks, Carolyn. I guess I didn't figure that conversion right from grams to ounces.

I will "keep is simple", and just start. I appreciate your help!
