Have fun Cindy! I love the mountains in the summer.
And I tend to agree with you on the metabolism thing but I also think everybody is different. Just like some people can eat all day long and never gain a pound and some people eat 1 piece of bread and gain weight. Our bodies are complicated organisms and what can be true for some doesn't have to mean it's true for all.
I actually weigh less now than I did when I was 20!! And I probably move more now too. And I know that I know more about what to eat and what not to eat and how important activity is for good health all around.

Hi kids..

Cindy: Have fun at Vail..A friend of mine just got back and loved it.. Expensive, but very lovely..You are still a sweet young thing, girl.. It seems the closer I get to 60, the slower my metabolism is..it seems that way..

Well, I went to Bartlesville shopping today and got some new clothes for vacation..I needed some good jean capris..and got some other stuff on sale. Ate at Camille's..tuna salad with lettuce, etc..Went to Hobby Lobby, etc.Gary is in Florida..But, he is 2 miles from the beach (near St. Augustine)..

Brett is heading to Wichita today..His friend at KSU is a pyrotechnic guy and he is shooting off fireworks for some celebration tonight..So, prayers for safety would be appreciated for anyone who is around. I'm sure Brett won't be near the "works" as he doesn't have a license..(thank God).

I have my yearly doctor's appointment on Monday. This is where I tell her that I am going to another doctor for my thyroid and my bioidenticals..

Oh, Carolyn, firework injuries kept me up half the night on the 4th. Thank goodness your son won't be close. My patients were in their 40's and 50's. Both hand injuries. I love fireworks though!

I just got a new iphone and I sear that thing is more intelligent than I.

Had homemade fajitas for dinner with homemade salsa from my garden tomatoes and japalenos. My cow is ready. 190 pounds hanging weight for a quarter. I wonder how much that will end up weighing after processing? It sounds like a lot!

Morning!
I'm back!
St Louis was awesome!

I did lots of shopping - all of it necessary, of course!
My favorites are pillows from Pottery Barn!

But we also did well at Sephora, Crate & Barrel, DSW, some cute shops in Kimmswick and Kirkwood . . . .

Food was great - one place was Pan Latin. We went early to beat the Friday night rush, and after telling the waitress I was Lactose Intolerant and having trouble picking something off the menu, the chef came out and helped me. Would you believe they put milk in their bread to make it fluffier!?!

So he pretty much made me my own special meal.
So nice!!

Now I come home to a hurricane!
Why does it always look so much worse when you get back?!

I weigh about 20 lbs more than I did in college - but if I still weighed less than 100lbs, I don't think I'd look good.

Most women that small look too thin and too old!

Hi..

I love Pottery Barn, too. St. Louis is really fun place. We have good friends who live there and always enjoy visiting them. You are very special..How cool the chef came out to help you...

Yep: I weighed 125 in college and for most of my young life..then I had children..

No word from Brett, so I assuming he got home safe and sound. I'll call him this afternoon..He is done with his robot research, and has to write up the results..or whatever they right up.

Sandy: Tomorrow night is the Bachelorette Finale..It's a happy ending..you might want to watch..LOL.

Gosh, Cindy...iphone..I am totally impressed with that. It seems that your 1200 calorie plan helped you lose a bit, is that right?

Hi gang,
Well, sounds like you have all been having fun shopping and getting things done. I was so tired after DD#1 left and then as soon as I got rested up started helping DD#3 get ready to move into the house they bought. It was nice enough they could have just moved in with a little cleaning but they took up all the carpet as the old owner had a dog and it was dirtier than it looked, now they are putting down some wood flooring and new carpet. And, they want to paint while all this is going on, so this afternoon I am going over to help paint a bit. They have until the end of the month to move but they will both be working all week so it will be a lot of late nights for them, but, I think I remember being able to keep up with all that when I was their age.

Cindy, have fun in Vail, I love CO in the summer.
I am fine, weight is trying to slip below 210, it was 208.8 this morning.
Went to refill my byetta and although insurance approved it last month, this month they denied it, so I have to get ahold of my Dr. tomorrow to make sure he wrote the letter to the insurance company that the pharmacy asked him to write, and, I probably will need a sample for awhile until they approve the new refill, if they do. I hope so, that stuff is really expensive I think.
Well, better get back to getting things done so I can go paint.

I might just have to tune in for the finale Carolyn, lol. We've had a pretty busy weekend here but today looks lighter. Maybe we'll catch a movie this afternoon. Or take a walk at the park. ?? Something for sure.

Headed out to Mass now. Have a great day.

Hi Carolyn!

I'm recommitting this week!
This past weekend managed to undo all the work I'd done this month!
It can't be that hard to be good for a week, right?!

Well, what's your definition of hard MK, lololol. For me it's sometimes the hardest thing I've ever had to do, but other times it's not bad. I think it's all in the mindset. Good luck. I'm going to be good this week too. At least until Friday when my nephew gets married.

Morning!
Moving day for the kids and it is POURING rain, something that is not normal for this time of year in Dallas! Who would have thought we would have to contend with that. But, the truck is small enough to back right up to the garages so that will help.

Hi everyone..

This must be "good" week for everyone, huh?

Off to my yearly appointment.. We all hate that, don't we?

I was still at 153 this month,...at least I didn't gain anything yet. Maybe I can get back to 152 by Saturday for vacation.

Rain... Hopefully it will let up down there, Buffy.

Cya later..

Hi..

Well, I passed the physical so far..Blood pressure is 104/70ish..Am I alive? And, the good part was when she pushed on my tummy, she said it was easy to feel the organs because of the lack of fat. Wow..That made my day..And, I told her that I was going to someone else for my thyroid and my hormones and she said that was okay. That was my scarey part..

My cat sitter friend is coming to learn about Alex for our vacation. She has animals and it is always great to pick someone with cats to feed and clean up after your kitty cats.

I hope Cindy is having a good time in the mountains.............

I had a great 4 hour lunch with my friend!! We're getting the DH's together with us on Wednesday night for drinks and then another lunch and a walk on Thursday.
Then she has to go back to GA.

Yes, health is everything as you "age"..

I watched The Bachelorette..I liked who she picked..Ed.

MaryKay: Sounds like you had alot of fun with your friend..Does she visit from GA much?

It was interesting that my doctor said I could do a non-fasting total cholesterol test because my heart was in good shape and I didn't have any risks..So, I hope it comes out okay..

Wow Carolyn, great news on your checkup! You are in great shape, you work hard at it though and you deserve a good bill of health. Where are you going on vacation? I think you have mentioned it.

Kids got big stuff moved today but wood floors are not quite finished, carpet didn't come in for the bedrooms and tile went down today in DGS bathroom and laundry room, so, they just had them unload most of the furniture in the garage and I worked on getting all the cabinets cleaned inside and out. House was really pretty clean so it wasn't much work. We really can't do much more until the flooring is all done, so will go back on Thurs. to work some more. They moved out of a smaller home and with just 1 child didn't have tons of furniture so they can keep most of it in the garage until Thurs. And, they have their other house through the end of the week so we have until the weekend to move all the hanging clothes, etc. Whew, although I am not doing that much, moving is such a job. The kids are wiped out already. DGS has been at his dad's all of July so he has missed most of the moving, which is good, I think it would have upset him, he likes things very structured and organized, LOL.

MK, sounds like a very fun friend lunch, lasting 4 hours, great to have friends like that.
Sandy, MK and Carolyn, you all sound like you are doing great on your eating this week. Hope Cindy is enjoying her vacation and not having to worry too much about her eating.
The rain wasn't good for the move but so welcome here in TX at the end of July, our yards, trees, etc. will be very appreciative.
Well, off to bed, I am tired and hope the sound of rain lulls me to sleep!

Carolyn - I'm still excited about your great checkup!

Buffy - it is great to have friends like that! She visits once a year - her in-laws love here.

I was doing well yesterday until pizza flew into my mouth last night! DH and I went on a 2.5 mile walk about 9:00pm, so maybe I stalled the weight gain a little!

Those flying pizzas are so dangerous MK! But I'm sure the walk helped. I did well all day too until DH wanted to go to taco night at our local Mexican restaurant. I didn't overeat, but I did have beer with my tacos, lol. It was hot here yesterday! I don't think I'm going to show a loss this month. In fact I don't think I'm even going to be where I was last month. Just a pound or 2 over though.

Buffy, yes moving is hard work. Even when you're not doing that much. I think know ing you can't help more makes you even more tired. That's the way I felt when my grandson moved into his house. And nobody would let me really help and I think that wore me out, lol. I put away and did last minute cleaning instead. At least I felt helpful and thank goodness they didn't have a rocking chair handy. I'm afraid they might've tied me into it, lol.

The pizza must not have registered yet - I was down this morning!

Morning!
I have to drive across the north part of Dallas this morning to my endo to get my sample pens of byetta, to get me by until I can get the RX approved. My Dr. was supposed to get it preauthorized, although the insurance company didn't notify us of that until after they denied it. Grrrr
Office work this morning until I leave to do that.
Need nails and ped done but not in the mood today.
for some reason I had trouble with overeating last night and my weight is back up this morning, must have been something in the air that caused that and the pizza flying incident, LOL.
If it is not raining when I get back from endo's office, I might run by the kids old house, get a load of clothes and bring them over to the new house. It is nice having all week to get this all done.
Although DD went through 2 home purchases with her first husband, then a couple of rentals and another home purchase after her divorce, this is her 2nd DH's first home purchase, he is so fun to watch, he is just so happy and so proud to be buying this home and is working soooo very hard to get it all fixed just right. I am so happy she has found such a great guy. His parents are coming to visit from Canada in Sept. and I know he wants to have it just as perfect as he can when they come to visit. He had been though some rough spots over the past 10 years so I know he wants to show them that is all in the past and how successful he and my DD are now. They are such a good match, she was always very responsible but needed a great DH and stepdad to her son and he needed a good wife. Problem solved, LOL!

Hi ladies..

I walked 90 minutes on the treadmill..At my faux Curves we were watching "Dancing my XXX off"..It is rather amusing and the peeps finally figured out how to eat..

Gosh, Buffy..what a hassle on the byetta, but it certainly was helping ya.. How wonderful for your dd and her dh..I'm sure his parents will be thrilled with his new house and new wife and new life.

Congrats, pizza eating MKay..no weight gain is good..even a loss!!!

I got a huge zuke today at exercise. I think I'll make zuke noodles out of it and serve it with my leftover shrimp. Gary will be home tonight for dinner, so I can't serve tuna out of a can..LOL.

My bloodwork came back and my total cholesterol was 202. I didn't ask what my HDL was, but it usually very high so it kicks up the total number. She said everything was fine..Mammo on Thursday..

Well, the reason it was higher was because my Happy Cholesterol is high, so it jacks the whole number up. LCing makes my Happy Cholesterol higher..
