Hi..

MaryKay: What handsome guys and what a great job they did.. Glad the city recognized them.

I'm back on plan, too..Still at 153, but better than 154-5, which was last week..don't really know why???? I'm still hoping my thyroid meds are kicking in better..

I do a Curves rotation at least 5 times a week, then some treadmilling a couple of times (30 minutes), then another 20 minute workout with my Wii. I don't break a sweat unless I'm running with the Wii..But, I do feel I have to keep my muscles in shape and need more flexibility. Barry isn't into big time exercising, but he thinks walking is just fine. Of course, in the UK they do alot more "walking" than us "Yanks"..LOL..

Sandy: Sorry about your nightmare..I was up and down all night.. I ran out of Mona Vie..So, I got some regular Acai Berry drink to see if it would still work as well as the expensive stuff. I'll see tonight.

Hope everyone is doing okay.. I would love to get to 152 by the end of the month, which is rapidly approaching. I made some Oopsie rolls yesterday for our burgers last night and had a chicken sandwich with them for lunch..Love those things.

Yes - DH and I are very proud of them!

I exercise too - mainly because I feel better!
Though I know it's not necessary to lose weight, it is necessary to be healthy!

Busy morning!
Went to lunch with a friend, visited Mom, mailed a package to DD22, went to the grocery store . . . .

Book Club tonight!

I'm starving!

I have a fasting blood test this morning - which i could have done at 7:00, but i was having a drink and eating popcorn then . . . . so now I have to wait until 9:00 (after my pedicure! - it's spa day! - but before my hair cut/color) so I can fast for 12 hours!

Sigh.

Good morning. I'm always hungrier when I know I can't eat, aren't you? Enjoy your day. My massage day is tomorrow and I'm looking so forward to it. Today is a Dad day. He has lots of little errands we need to take care of. And we'll have lunch out too.

I've dropped most of my last week's stress weight. I'd like to drop another 2-5 though but that's that 2-5 that are the hardest to get rid of for some reason. They're stuck like glue!

Morning!
Company is gone, sad to see them go. I only get to see DD#1 about 2 times a year, sometimes it is only once. We do talk all the time so it seems like more but when we do get together it is so wonderful, we just have such a great time and it was awesome spending almost a week with DGS 15. DGD who didn't get to come down this summer turns 17 today and DGS turns 16 next week so I sent their birthday money home with them so they can use it to shop for things before school.
I am tired though of course, took yesterday off and just kind of vegged out but still feel tired today but have to work in the office.
Weight stayed exactly at 210 during the whole visit although we ate out every night at different places that they love to eat at while visiting here. I ate more than usual so am ready to get back to lighter meals.
Been reading and keeping up with everyone;, now somewhat back to normal for me.

Buffy, I'm so glad you got to spend the week with your family. There's just nothing like family is there? I really feel sorry for all the people who don't have a good relationship with their families. I know sometimes it just can't be helped, but I still feel for them.

And good job on keeping the weight steady with all that eating out. Now you'll probably start dropping it again. Is your appetite still small?

Hi..

Did alot of exercising this morning..Walked 2 miles with my friend and then went to the Curves place and did the treadmill for 200 calories worth and some ab exercises..I am tired.

MaryKay: Good luck on your fasting blood test.. When you "can't" eat, you do feel hungrier..

Buffy: That is so great that you stayed the same during all that eating out..
Now, that's wonderful, isn't it? I'm sure you will be in Onederland by 2010..big party then, right?

Sandy: You know, I am always amazed how you can drop weight so quickly when you eat on plan. You do have the metabolism of a bunny rabbit, girl.

Cindy: Are you working today???

My new glasses came in today. Hopefully, I can see with them and actually read with them. I'll go down and get them in a little while. My other ones were very dated..(3 years). I wear my contacts most of the time anyway, but it is nice to have glasses as a backup.

Still at 153..which is a good thing..Gary will be gone for a few days, so I'm going to really hit it hard when he won't be around to "cook for"..

Hi!
I survived!

Carolyn - it is so much easier to stay OP when it's just you!
Do we get a pic of your new glasses?

Sandy - enjoy "Dad Day"!
Where did you eat?

Buffy - What a wonderful week! You are lucky to have such a great relationship with everyone!

Tonight is Family Night in the park behind our house.
I'm tired and wish it would rain!

I guess I am really lucky Carolyn. If I jump right back on and not let it get "stuck" it does fall back off pretty easily. But I've been trying to lose that same extra 5# for about 5 years now, lol. Like I told my dad, I must not really want to lose it that bad. Right? But if I keep thinking I want to lose it then it keeps me pretty honest on plan better. So it's my maintenance trick I guess.

I'm thinking I'm going to get the back of my hair cut shorter again. I'm tired of how hot it is when I'm running/walking and it gets so sweaty. And I'm tired of dealing with it!

I did enjoy Dad day. We ate at Red Robin and I ordered the bunless cheeseburger. It was very good. And we got all his errands ran too. He bought a new cordless phone so I had to set that all up for him. It came with the ans. system too so now Mom's voice is finally off the incoming message. Now it's the strange man instead.

Hi..I love my new glasses..I can see really well with them. I think the older ones were a bit scratched..LOLOL. They have a sunglasses clip on them as I always have to wear sunglasses when I'm outside. I wonder if dh will notice them..

Had to make some devilled eggs for a funeral tomorrow..Not in charge anymore. Gosh, luckily I had 22 older eggs which peeled great, but the other 2 new ones didn't work out as well, so I only have 44 devilled eggs..oh well.

My "newly discovered" cousin from SC is sending me a baby picture of my grandmother that she had hanging in her house. We are both having fun swapping stories that our families have told us about our "relatives"..

Now Mary Kay..don't be such a spoil sport.. Have a glass of wine and it will put your right to sleep.

I got some more Mona Vie for my sleeping. I honestly, think that stuff works so well...
Will see tonight.

Hugs all around.........................[IMG]

Are those your new glasses Carolyn? I'm glad you can see again.

Well, I finally got the new TV and stand all set up thanks to my DGS and DSIL. I told them I hope that's the last heavy thing they'll ever have to move for us. They said they doubted it, lol. But they're both great about helping and I don't know what we'd do w/o their help. They treat us like we're old!! Imagine, lolol. Sometimes that's a good thing to take advantage of, lol.

Now I'm going to try to sell my old ent. center on the list site. I got rid of both old TVs that way yesterday. But they were free. I couldn't believe how many people wanted them!

MK, I know you are so proud of those boys!

Carolyn, great glasses. I still wear contacts also but find I'm needing readers.

Sandy, I know that was hard on your dad to erase his wifes voice. I'm not sure if I could do it. I don't know if it was comforting or upsetting for him to hear it.

JoJo, I do weight training, knees won't let me run any more and I ride my horse.

That's the thing Cindy, my dad never listened to it at all. Just everybody who called would hear her. At first it was very hard for me to hear her come on and speak but I got used to it. My oldest granddaughter however wouldn't even call him b/c she was afraid grandma would start talking and it really upset her. It was a bit upsetting for others as well. We all have tons of videos, pictures, etc. which we'll treasure for life, but I think it was time to let Mom quit answering the phone. He saved the old answering machine just in case and that's fine. She still answers the cell phone voice mail.

My BF's wife died suddenly of a burst blood vessel in the brain. He had her voice on the recorder for over a year. I'm glad your dad saved the recorder. He may never listen to it but it is probably a comfort to know he could if he wanted to.

Carolyn - LOVE the glasses!

We went to the park and listened - very good, but long.
Then it started to rain!

Sandy: You never think of people's voices on the answering machines, do you? But, it's a good thing your dad kept the old one. Maybe we should start taping our voices in case our kids miss us someday..

Yes, I do like my glasses..Thanks..They are progressive..I had to point them out to Gary..

That's great you got rid of your tv's..Free is always a great price, isn't it? Let me know how you like your new tv..We need to get a new one someday..

Just made a 3 minute flourless chocolate cake for us..I split it and put some Cool Whip on top..

Thanks MK, it has been hard.
She was so sick for so long and it's been well over a year now since she died and this is the first thing he's changed and probably will be the only thing he changes. I understand it's hard but I really worry about him. It's like he's keeping a shrine and I just don't think that's good for him. But it's his life and he makes his own decisions and I respect that.

Carolyn, that's why it's so great to have family videos to look back on. We were watching old family videos at Christmas and even seeing DH's mom actually talking was really something. She hasn't been able to speak for about 13 years now due to her stroke. Or walk. The younger grandkids didn't even remember her before so that was good.

So far we love the TV. We got a 37" HD Toshiba.

Morning!

So - Movie night at Sandy's??!! Great TV!

My DH thought movies were silly so we don't have any!
I think we're going to regret it!

Off to St Louis until Saturday - have a great rest of the week!

Hi gang..

My brother spliced our family movies (as kids together) and put them on Video Cassette..I need to watch that again..so funny.. Ah..we were so young, then. Honestly, I think a shrine is fine for your dad..It's a way to remember the love of his life.

Have fun in St. Louis, MKay.. Fun town..great food.

We did a WW call on a lady who moved from San Diego to our little town. Big old shocker..She seemed very nice..They bought a nice old hotel that was changed into very nice apartments.

Did my exercising this a.m., met a friend for lunch, and am washing dh's clothes. My gf and I are going to Harry Potter tomorrow night. She had lapband surgery, but ate more than I did..(didn't drink anything). She has lost about 40 pounds, which is good and she needs to lose about 40 more. It can be a very slow process. But, it stops her from eating way more than she ate today.

Hi,
I had my massage and lunch day today. It felt great! Then picked up a birthday gift for DDIL and looked for something for my nephew's wedding. Kohl's didn't have one thing that they still needed on their registry. I found that very odd. So I'm just giving them $$. They're leaving on a cruise for their honeymoon right after the wedding so some extra cash will probably come in handy. Or they can buy what they still need as they want.

We had lunch at Panera and I didn't do terrible but I sure didn't do well either. I love Panera!! I did get my workout in before I went for my massage though. Not a very long one, but at least something.

Well, I had to cook chicken for a church thing, so I held some out and made chicken salad.
I added some of the Dreamfields elbow mac, mayo, cuke, and onion..It was very nommie..But, I do need to bake all that bacon before it goes bad.

Yes, new deck..real wood..The deck is the whole length of our house on the top floor..Gary has been patching it for many years..he hasn't the time and the wood is about 30 years old. It will be nice..They aren't starting until August 17th..

Off to iron..

Hi ladies..

Good morning.. It's really nice here..

I'm going to be really good this weekend through Tuesday. Might have some shake meals once in a while. Hope it helps..

I met a lady who worked at a fitness center where two of the Biggest Loser boys went. She was saying how very difficult it is to lose weight as we age..It's all about the metabolism slowing down. We can "help it" by exercising and eating right, but it's an uphill battle..That made me feel better. What if we didn't pay attention???? Gosh,
I would look like a beached whale..

We are leaving Monday to go to Vail for 6 days. The new cat sitter came over to see the cats and the house. A pet sitter is much less stressful than boarding them. They are too old.

DHOR 27 is doing well. Her face is starting to get a little tone to it and she can eat a little grass so good for her.

The Synthroid has me running around. I can hardly sit still which is like the old me! Weight is down from128 to 125 so yeah. 120 is the goal but at this rate, it will take 3 years.

Carolyn, I'm not sure if I buy the "metabolism slowing down" thing. At least I don't want to. It makes me feel like it's inevitable and I have no control. My theory is that we DO loss muscle mass as we age. If we maintain out muscle mass (the source of metabolism) and manage hormone balance with bioidentical replacement AND maintain the same activity level, we should weigh the same at 50 as we did at 20 but the above requires effort. I do weight lift and try to keep moving. Now that I have some circulating hormones, I actually do feel like moving!
