OK, I'm officially back up and running normally again. $85 later, ugh! I didn't feel so bad about not being able to get it up and going by myself. Lightning had fried the router too. I just bought it from them in Mar. so they replaced it for me but the service charge was still $85. Oh well, hopefully I won't need them again for a long time.

Now I just have to still get a new TV and try to get the keypad on the garage door fixed. Then I think that's everything. I sure hope so.

Cindy - that sounds amazing!! Yum!
Luckily the Lactose Intolerance will keep me from making it - or I think I'd eat the whole thing!

Sandy - Yay! Welcome back!

Hi gang..

Had a coffee this morning at Dianne's. They all loved my home roasted coffee bean coffee..LOL..They all thought that coffee beans came off the tree already to go.
Made the blueberry SF cake and Dianne (LCer, too) loved it..She made the high carb coffee cake that my minlaw used to make..

Cindy: That recipe sounds wonderful for ice cream. The cake mix would really thicken it up...I wonder if we could do the recipe using SF dry pudding mix? Hmmm..just some thoughts.

$85 isn't horrible for "labor"..glad they gave you a free part, Sandy. I'm trying to be good before our vacation..It's so hard to be perfect, isn't it???

Brett called me to tell me that milk has alot of carbs in it. He just read the label..He makes a protein shake after exercising, so I suggested some cream and water. He has lost more weight. His goal is 190 and he is at 195. He has self discipline..plus he runs a couple of times a day, and swims...and he is 22.

I want to start knitting a sweater..a simple one that will fit me.

catch ya later, gators.

Morning!

Busy day yesterday!

I totally scrubbed down DD22's bathroom - good thing too - because she was home last time, I couldn't get in there to clean and it really needed it.
Then I moved around my bedroom and I really like it!
Though moving the bed, dresser, etc by yourself means I'm feeling it today!
I have a new bedspread to put on today and some miscellaneous stuff to move, but then I'll have a new room!

Carolyn - that's great about Brett!!! I wish I had a metabolism again!

Morning
Thanks so much for all the warm welcomes.

I'm doin' pretty good. Better Wednesday than Yesterday but despite it all I am down 3 lbs water weight. Yippee! I still feel like I am wearing a swimming pool floaty around my middle but maybe a floaty for a smaller child? lol

Playing with the fat ratios and keeping them high enough and then low enough is a fun game at times lol Coconut oil certainly helps. Thanks for all the hints and suggestions so far, too.

Cindy, that ice cream recipe just sounds dirty-naughty. I drooled a bit!

Mary Kay: You are the little flylady, aren't you? New bedspreads are fun.. Yes, I wish I had a metabolism, too. Honestly, I think there is only so much you can do with the metabolism when you get past 50..It's just the way it is, I think..

Arynn: Wowow.....3 pounds is great. Watch the portions and you should do great, girl..

Talked to a cousin that I had never talked to before. We are both doing geneaology on

You made a new friend!!

Melinda - you can fiddle with so much on this WOE!
It is hard to get the fats right without adding too much protein though.
Sounds like you're doing wonderfully!

Drive by hello! Kids are keeping me going full blast, I do have this morning home while they all go to a waterpark but I have DGS 1 home with me and he is a little tornado, you have to follow him around while awake with a safety net, LOL, he explores non-stop. Right now he is still sleeping, we tired him out so much the past 2 days that he is sleeping way late, good for Mema :-). I really am enjoying all my kids being together, they all get along so great and are so much fun to be around. Had a great time visiitng my son and dil in Austin and seeing the little starter home they bought this summer. It is very small and very much a starter home but they are so proud to be first time homeowners, they both work hard and I am so proud of them.
Tonight we are going to Babes to eat, a famous local home style cooking place, fried chicken, fried catfish, chicken friend steak, roast beef, all the trimmings served family style. Thank heavens I have a small appetite these days!!!

Sounds like you all are staying super busy too, have a great weekend!

Cindy: Thanks for the link..I'll check it out this afternoon..

Oh.............I love fried chicken..alot. Sounds like you are having a fun time, Buffy..

Did my exercise this morning..I bought one of those littlish balls for exercising and my
friend who runs the faux Curves helped me do the exercises. It's great for abs..The ball was like $10 and alot smaller than those giant ones.

DH and I are going out to lunch..He worked this morning, so we are having lunch out instead of dinner.

A friend from church had a cow that he had to have "processed", so he made it into hamburger. So, I got 50 pounds in my freezer. I'm going to see how it would make
burgers tonight..Frozen hamburger doesn't make the best burgers...Any one have any secrets??

Thaw them first and then cook them! Ah, I crack myself up!!

Rode my horse all day so that was my excersize. I just got some hot dogs from WF. Organic, no nitrates, grass fed beef. No filler, no carbs, 8 grams fat, 7 grams protein, 110 calories. I'll let you know how they are.

Gee thanks, Cindy.. I did thaw them and patted them down really well..They didn't fall apart on the grill and we quite good. It is pretty lean meat, but not terribly lean..49 more pounds to go.. He charged me $2.50 a pound..Is that a good price do you think?

We watched Pink Panther 2..Kinda crazy..

Morning!

Great time last night - we went to church and then dinner out with friends.
Eating on a plan - any plan went out the window - but banana split cheesecake is to die for!

I'm back on it today!

This morning I'm walking with a friend, checking out the uniform sale at the HS, going to see a movie with another friend - Easy Virtue - and then figuring out dinner!
It'll be a great day!

Buffy - just reading it makes me tired!

Carolyn - you could use the meat for tacos, chili, crack slaw . . .

Hey gals. I know I'm late jumping in, but I've been reading your posts and doing the EFGT for a good 4 weeks now. I started on Atkins, but was struggling. These threads have helped me a ton. I was at 128 a month ago and I'm at 123.4 as of this morning. I'm very happy with this WOE, it gives me more flexibility but still holds me accountable. Fitday has been a enormous help as I can see right where my ratios are. I have a few foods I know can help me even them out--two fried eggs in butter if my fat is too low but my protein is okay, and strawberries in cream (mmmm) if I have some wiggle room in my carbs. I actually JUST read the book, you guys kept me on track until it arrived.

Anyway, that's me. I'm hoping to be holding in the 121-122 range by the end of the month. it is SO nice to fit into my summer clothes :-)

Oh, Jo Jo, your going to regret that!! We post something 5-6 times a day! I LOVE Fitday also. I use it every day.

That link above is actually good. It takes about coconuts as being maligned and eggs and PB being good for you.

I am covered in chigger bites from riding yesterday. I have to work today and am itching in places I shouldn't!

Hi..and a big welcome to Jo-Jo..Wow you are doing really well..

Cindy: I hate chiggers..Now when dh and I were first married, he took me blackberry picking (first and last time)..Well, my minlaw told me to immediately into a tub with a cup of clorox mixed in the water and soak. I did and no chiggers!! Gary had chiggers everywhere cuz he didn't do the clorox bath.. Chigger bites last forever..like tick bites.

MKay: All things in moderation..A few cherries are fine, I'm sure..They did look good in the store here, too.

Filling up my pool again after the tree removal..It had a few holes in it, so I patched them..Hope it holds..

Hi Sandy and everyone else.

Jo Jo, I will be picking up my 1/4 of an organic grass fed cow in a couple of weeks. About $5.50 a pound, including processing and so much easier than running to WF all the time. I do still eat buffalo also.

The hot dogs are good. Can't tell the differance. Applegate Farms is the brand. Really just beef and seasoning and all organic grass fed. Rudy's makes a good organic hot dog bun. You feel like your being bad!

Carolyn, you hit it on the head. I'll be scratching for a week!

Hi everyone..

Did my faux Curves this morning..

I'm giving up my blended coffees at the coffee shop and getting something with alot less carbs to see if it helps with my weight reduction. Supposedly, the whole blended thing with the milk had 23 carbs, but you know that might be way too much at one time..

Back on plan for me, too..Gosh, it is 71 here today..very nice, but cloudy and cool..

Hi to everyone......................

Very handsome young men MK. I'm sure you are very proud.

It's amazing what one day of good eating will do. Now I just need to keep it up all week. I slept horrible last night; I kept having a nightmare that would start up again every time I woke up and fell back to sleep. Now today I feel like I didn't sleep at all. And today is a gym day. I need to find some energy somewhere.

Sandy,

You reminded me of something I wanted to ask--what kind of exercise do you guys do? I was really surprised to read about that part in the book--that Groves doesn't advocate exercise for weight loss. I've been exercising a fair amount (jogging or biking mostly) and was curious as to whether you guys found it beneficial or not.

I don't know if it really helps my weight loss or not. I have to believe it has to rev up my metabolism at least a bit. I mostly workout to maintain bone and muscle strength as I get older. I'm 59 so from here on I guess that's an uphill battle, lol. I do interval workouts Mon, Wed, and Fri consisting of walking and running for about 30 minutes each day. On Tues and Thurs I do about 30 min. of strength training with weights at the gym or sometimes at home. I feel much better when I workout so I do it. Even while grumbling somedays, lol.
