Hi gals..and Gord.
Loved that video. It is good that those little ones are exposed to surviving in a pool, in case of emergency. Thanks, Buffy.. Glad you had fun..Oh well, about your sissy. Gosh, fireworks are pretty scarey..Brett and his buddies set them off on Saturday night..no accidents.Cindy: Gosh..I'm sure the hospitals are full of injuries during the 4th.. Poor DC's..Alex stays inside and doesn't get phased by the noise. Sandy: Some peeps bring their dogs to watch the fireworks..must be like your doggies. I guess they like the lights and the noise doesn't bother them. MK: Wowo..Syracuse must have some extra $$$.. What a nice gift, huh?Did my exercise this a.m. and had to run around doing stuff...My pool is rather nippy, thanks to the rain, so I'll wait until tomorrow to go into it.. Cyalater...Cindy: Did you do your blood sugar readings??

Morning everyone.
MK, love your new avatar, you look fabulous. Cool on the Ipod. Cindy, I had no idea they would prescribe metformin for cravings, etc. I have a friend who is very obese, I swear she is insulin resistant and she could sure use that if they would give it to her. Although, the metformin worked for me for a time, then on it's own it got to where it did not help my cravings or appetite. But, for some it does so here's hoping it continues to work for you. Tinker (DC 7) is so absolutely disgusted with these 3 younguns (3 month old kittens) who are ripping and tearing around our house. I swear he comes and sits beside me and rolls his eyes! My weight continues to go down, I am at 208.8 this morning. I am one of the lucky ones who the byetta causes the loss of appetite and weight loss, who'd of thunk???? It is so odd for me to go places and care less what they have to eat, or where we are going to eat because nothing sounds that appetizing. I do get hungry, but could easily skip meals, good thing I have to eat to take the meds. When I do get hungry, I find myself taking the same amounts of food I have in the past and then eating half or less of it. And, if I overeat I feel bad and have bad reflux, so all combined, it really has dropped the amount of food I eat. I really wonder what the long term effects are, I have heard that after about 2 years some peeps start regaining their weight. I wish everyone who needs to watch their weight could have something like this that works for them. It is my month to pick a restaurant for dinner club tomorrow night, so I had better get a place picked out and email everyone.

Hi everyone..
MKay..you and your gal, huh? Nice picture.. Buffy: Yipee for you, girl..When you hit 199, we are going to have a party..to end all parties.. It is true..loss of appetite really helps when we are dieting. I also think the less you eat, your body adjusts to only wanting that much. Does your stomach shrink??? I always thought it did...Hi Sandy, Cindy and everyone else. I made those yellow cupcakes of Lauren's..made with beans..........They are to die for................. I had one for breakie. |

Hi all, today is my dad's birthday. So I made him a cake. I just halved the recipe so it's a small one so nobody will have to be tempted by leftovers. We're taking him our for dinner tonight to one of his fav home cooked meal type places.
I need to try another bean cake I think. And this time I won't tell DH it's anything different, lol. DGD turns 20 this Saturday!! Hard to believe she's leaving her teens behind. She's having a pool party at her brother's pool and the family will celebrate Sunday. Her dad's BD is Sunday so they always share the BD dinner.

Carolyn, my blood sugars were in the 80's and 90's all day, basically unchanged so this is good.
Buffy, it's called "Off label use". It is basically when a doctor prescribes something for other than what the drug company got FDA approval for. It is EXTREMLY common. Tons of meds are used off label. Take Botox. It is only approved for lines in between your eyebrows but it injected all over to help stop sweating, muscle spasms, neck muscles bulging, and lines everywhere. Anything other than in between the eyes is "off label". I think it helps quite a bit. I don't get hungry until about 2:00 now and I'm hungry, not my usual low blood sugar famished! |

Wow..your levels were great..Oh yes, that is the recipe..I baked them at 325 for most of the time, then jacked it up to 350 for the last 8 minutes or so. They are so delicious..Dh loved them..I froze half..
Question for bioidentical peeps: Do you dream when you are on them? I noticed I started dreaming again..(nothing too wierd), but I hadn't dreamt in a long time. I take mine right before bed and it helps me sleep better, too. |

I've always dreamed and still do. And I always remember my dreams too. Many people say I should write them down and do a dream journal because I dream so much. Some are very twilight zone-y, lol. DH hardly ever dreams. I would really miss dreaming. Since the hormones help you sleep better I bet they are letting you sleep deeper too and so you're dreaming more and hopefully feeling more rested.
I can't seem to get back on the wagon this week. Maybe today will be a better day. I have no events for a couple of days at least. I'm thinking I might have to go to the pool today. |

Not very often but sometimes I'll feel a very strong sensation of deja vu and wonder if I've dreamed that before. Maybe if I wrote them down I'd be able to tell more but although I remember them when I wake up I forget most of them as the day progresses. When my kids were little I'd have this recurring nightmare that my son had fallen in the lake and I couldn't reach him! As he got older it went away but when we got a swimming pool when our oldest grandchild was 3 I started dreaming it again. You can bet I was the most paranoid, cautious mom and grandma around water at all times!!

Morning!
Oh, I dream a LOT. And, most of the time I love it b/c I find it so interesting some of the things I dream about. And, I have a few dreams that have been recurring over years of time. Was just talking about this to my DB last weekend. He had a stroke sometime in the mid 1980's and he said that all his dreams are about times before the stroke, he never dreams about anything that happened since the stroke. Isn't that interesting? Down another lb today. Yes, Carolyn, we will have to party down when I get in onderland, I had begin to think that would never happen and I better be careful what I say, it hasn't happened yet but I was 207.6 this morning. Wish I were rich, I would fly us all to Hawaii and we would celebrate in style, on the beach where Sandy always wants to be .Cindy, I didn't realize they could prescribe off label, but in thinking about it, yes, I have seen them do that. What my Dr. gives me for my RLS is an anti-seizure drug. I don't think it is labeled for RLS. My house needs a super serious decluttering! It is getting messy looking b/c I am piling things here and there and I hate it looking like this. Plus, these 3 kittens are really messy, I keep thinking I need to acclimate them to be outdoor kitties but then one of them rolls over, looks at me and meows so sweetly I melt. |

What's RLS? Since I've been following FlyLady my clutter is very dimished! And I'm happy with that for sure. |

Good morning...
I've been doing genealogy and through doing some PA research, I think I have found a cousin that was doing the same research. I called her and left a long message so she wouldn't think I was nutso. They live in SC.. Yes, dreams can be very interesting. My mother had dreams come true..She was a bit clairvoyant. She dreamt that I would meet someone in London, and I met my dh there...LOLOL.. Hawaii sounds like fun..I love it there..And, Sandy that is where the Bachelorette is taking her final 3..next Monday.. LOLOL.Hey, anyone who is on facebook, there is an Atkins (real) site there..It's pretty interesting. Ice Cream Social tonight at church. I'm making Dixer Diner Brownies with Pecans and Caramel Sauce for the diabetics. They always have SF homemade ice cream there..So, it's a happy night for me. That will be my dinner. Hugs to everyone...Buffy: Do you think you can hit Onederland by Labor Day???????? |

Then I can usually tell you what's going to happen next BECAUSE I've already dreamed it! Weird. Carolyn - I saw that site! Buffy - I'm going to focus on decluttering for a while. Somehow with the kids being home and then DD leaving, I lost track of everything! |

Carolyn, I take Melatonin at night and that causes vivid dreams and I started it about the same time as the hormones so Im not sure which is causing it.

Oh yes, melatonin makes your dreams much wilder. I have to limit my use of it just b/c of that very reason. It makes me have almost nightmares! But it does help you sleep, lol.

Oh my Sandy..nightmares are not good, are they? I do take melatonin but I have never
combined them with hormones..Might be a deadly duo. I was very good at the ice cream social..had SF vanilla and didn't get one of my brownies, they all disappeared.. ![]() Cindy: How's that mimicream in your coffee? Does it make it lighter and creamier? |

Morning gang.
RLS is restless leg syndrome. Not sure about 199 by Labor Day Carolyn, I ate Italian last night and today my weight went from 207.6 yesterday to 211 today! Wow, I am retaining something all right, haha. Start of my declutter, had one of my girlfriends come by last night and gave her 3 shopping bags of size 18W clothes that had been sitting in my office for months and months. I kept thinking I would do ebay, or a consignment store, but just gave them to her and was done with it. Carolyn, how interesting in finding another person in your family doing the geneology. Well, better get started on the laundry. DH has been working very hard out in the 100 degree heat the past 3 days and wants to just goof off this afternoon, so I will get a little bit done here and then go with him. Later gators! |

The Mimiccreme is ok. It is thick like cream but you do miss that cream richness. I'm going to keep putting it in my yogurt smoothies to see if it is worth re-ordering. I use 1/2 cup in my smoothies and it adds richness but not as much as cream would but 1/2 cup is 80 calories vs 400 with cream. Actually, it is probably the same richness as 80 calories of real cream so why not use that.

Hi all,
I've been online for 2 days getting our winter BEACH vacation all set up. Wow, we almost waited too late for the primo condos! I'm very excited because my DD and her hubby are going for one of our weeks this year. We've been wanting to show them Puerto Vallarta forever and now they're finally going! Now I'm nervous, what if they hate it, lol? There's sand, beer, sun, margaritas, Mexican food, what's there to hate? Now I only have to wait 6 months, lol. But it gives me something to look forward to and it's my favorite place to go, so I'm happy. |

It's funny, they talked us into going to Mexico with them the very first time we went. Now they laugh and say they must've created a monster as much as we go and love it.
Where's Carolyn today???? Hellooooo!! Are you floating today? It's so muggy here! |
