Are you really tired?

I've been eating this way for about 2 weeks, and I'm TIRED. I'm mean, literally TIRED! My body feels like it could fall over. Yikes. This happen to anyone else?

Could this be a result of too much fat? Too much carb? Help me... I HATE being a zombie!

I'll have chicken sausage in the morn with a spoonful of mascarpone for fat, a sanck of peanut butter & pc of stringcheese, lunch of avocado/chicken w/mayo salad, snack of some nuts & apple, & dinner of some type of meat. I don't eat any processed food and organic when i can.

Oh trust me, I'm eating pleanty! It's around 2000 cals a day. Many mornings (like right now) I eat a whole package of chicken sausage. That's like 800 cals right there.

Hi..

No wonder you are tired..58 percent of the protein we eat turns into carbs..And we know how carbs makes us feel. Have you done a check on making sure you weren't eating more than 25 percent of your calories from protein? Just wondering.

Glucogenesis?

Carolyn- where did this 58% number come from? Isn't it only excess protein that can possibly and partly turn into glucose?

Seriously? I didn't know protein could turn into carbs. I just thought excess could turn into fat (since your body doesn't need it).

Hi..

I posted something from Barry, then hit something and it dissappeared..LOL..

No, it is sad but true..Too much protein eaten at once will be turned into glucose, and raise your insulin level.

In Barry's book, it talks about how Type II's were given 50 grams of beef extra and found out that their insulin level tripled. Insulin will store fat..

So, it's best to figure out how much protein you need daily and then divide it by 3 meals..

Carolyn, were they given the extra beef WITH carbs or WITHOUT carbs? Just curious. Some people say that when carbs are really low (or zero) that it doesn't matter how much protein you ingest. I'm trying to figure out the "truth"!

No..it seemed it was without the carbs..Let me double check.

Page 78....In this study protein intake was doubled while carbs were reduced proportionally.

I don't understand how can a person get tired because of eating so much? In fact you should get more energy. If this is the case, your intake of food should be moderate. eat when you feel more hungry.
