Mary Kay, according to ask.com, to freeze dill, don't wash it. Just put it dry in freezer bags. I should have planted dill as I have been making Tzsaki for my lamb and fresh would be nice.
Kapri, you could always do a bowel prep like you are having a colonoscopy! I lost 3 pounds in 12 hours with a bowel prep for my colonoscopy. You may pass out from dehydration but you'll look great!! Sandy, I am looking into the local lamb at Gasper Farms. I'l let you know. |

Oh, honey, it was a joke but I will tell you what it is. You go to a Walgreens or similar place and ask for a "bowel prep". It is OTC. Basically, you drink this nasty stuff and a bunch of water and it totally cleans the large and small intestine in preparation for a colonoscopy. I truly lost 3 pounds in 12 hours. But that is basically because you have cleaned the entire length of the intestine.
And you all wonder why Gord left when i started posting here!!! |

Kapri, I'd rather buy 20 new dresses than do a bowel prep. I hate them!!! But Cindy is right, they sure do clean you out. Clean as a whistle I'm sure, lol. Yuck!!!
I got my blood test results back. I got them ran to check my hormone levels and the nurse calls and tells me my cholesterol is high and that they want me to start taking Prevachol. I told her no thank you and please fax me the results. My ratios are still great so no statin drugs for me. And I called her back and told her we were really just checking my hormone levels. She said there were no notes about that and I'd be called Tuesday. I was a little worried about the lipid readings though because this last year has been such an on again off again year with my WOE but they're good. A little higher than 18 months ago but still good. So whew!! Missed that bullet, than goodness.

You know Sandy, I could be wrong about this but it seems to me I've read that even though statins will lower your cholesterol, there was no reduction in the incidence of heart disease or MI's. 50% of those having open heart surgery have a "normal" cholesterol. There is so much more at play here.

Hi gang..
Well, I was up to 154..I say it was the salt in the restaurant food yesterday, so I'm drinking water.. Me, too on the bowel prep..I would rather buy 20 dresses..I'm sure Cindy was just "kidding ya"..Bowel preps "hurt" your fanny sometimes..TMI..TMI..I know. Sandy: I'm with you on the statin drugs for cholesterol..As long as your ratios are good, I wouldn't worry about it. Now, your hormones are different..I cut my "hormones" in half..went back to the troches..Take 1/2 dose before bedtime and really sleep well.. Gary is going to get me some sand for underneath my pool tomorrow.. Have a ladies' thing tonight..It says to bring your favorite snack..I'm not bringing anything..nor will I eat anything. I'm trying not to eat after dinner..too much food.

I'm having my son and his family over for a cookout. Hamburgers and hot dogs. And of course, I made him my world famous potato salad, lol. I threw together a bean salad I made up as I went along. Just northern beans, black beans, onion, garlic, tomato, cilantro, salt, pepper, EVOO and balsamic vinegar. The tasting I did was good. We'll see how it goes over. It might look too healthy for my bunch, lol.
I'm babysitting my granddog and my great granddog this weekend. I took all 3 of them on a walk together this a.m. I tried to yoke all 3 together but that didn't work b/c they're not used to walking. So I yoked the 2 wild ones together and put mine on her leash. It actually went very well and I got lots of smiles from passersby. You can imagine seeing 3 white fluffy dogs all pulling 1 old lady, lol. |

Carolyn, OMG!! You posted a get well on the "Tena75 Update" over on the main. Start reading at about the very bottom of page 4, and then on till the end. You will be amazed! I had never heard of Munchhausen's By Internet. I thought it was a little weird that her friend was posting under her name. From a medical perspective, some things didn't jive. It makes for some interesting reading. I'm going over to click on the Munchausen's link at the bottom of page 4 and read more. Someone smelled a rat and found she was updating her facebook and posting food when she was supposed to be in a coma. DRAMA!!

Morning!
Well I had a good time last night! DD22's BF's Mom came over - we walked part of the bike trail ~ almost 4 miles and then sat out on the patio with DH and between the 2 of us killed a bottle of wine. We had such a good time. I really like her! Everyone had dates/was out/worked last night, but everyone showed up about 10:00 so we had more fun here at home. Good times! Good time yesterday too - I didn't buy anything but some coffee and nuts from Harry & David. DD22 got some dishes and silverware for her new apartment. It was a nice day. ![]() Today it's supposed to rain. DH is supposed to see DD25 and help her hang curtains, DS20 has to be manager at the pool, DD22 works from 12-5, DS16 works from 12-9 - I need to clean until 4:30 when DH and I have to work at the HS Mega Raffle from 4:30-7:30. ![]() ![]() ![]() I haven't done a colonoscopy yet - I'm not looking forward to it! ![]() Thanks for the dill info. I need to check into it more! Quote:
![]() ![]() Quote:
I made a Greek Salad with tomatoes, green pepper, red onion, cucumber, black olives and feta cheese with dried oregano crumbled on top. Dressing was olive oil and red wine vinegar. Yum! I bet you looking great with your dog team!! ![]() Quote:

That salad sounds yummy too, MK. I'll have to try it. I'm getting tired of the same old ones all the time. Although my family won't hardly ever let me off making the tater salad. I'm ready to pass that recipe down. Which my DD and even my DGD know how to make it already, they'd just rather I made it, lol. I learned to make it from my MIL. I grew up hating pot. salad until I had hers. And the funny thing is, her DD's is awful!!!

Unfortunately, the whole thing is deleted. It was too strange. I have never heard of Munchhausen's By Internet but it makes sense since this is so anonymous. On ward to more important things like food!
I found a recipe for LC for Sloppy Joes: 1.5 pounds ground beef (I have buffalo thawing) 3/4 cup Heinze LC Ketchup 1/4t salt Sweetener of choice to taste (I think Heinze is sweet as it has Slenda in it so I may omit this) 2T mustard (I'm going to start with 1T) 2T vinegar (I'm going to start with 1T) 2T Worchestershire sauce 1 small onion diced 1t black strap molasses (gives a brown sugar taste) Cook meat, onion and salt in a skillet. Meanwhile, mix everything else in a bowl. When meat is brown, add sauce and simmer 15 minutes. Put on bun of choice. I have to think on that. I may make some Oopsies as I have regular buns for my BF. Had buffalo brats from WF last night. VERY lean. Weird biting into a brat with no juice coming out but good, grass fed and organic so I'll cut them some slack. I will buy them again. DHOR 27 is out in a paddock playing with DHOR 9, her son. Black male cat was back paying a visit to DC15. DC15 was NOT amused! |

However, Kimmer was like this, too. She pretended to lose 198 pounds in a matter of months and became the guru of LCF's years back..Then, we all found out she never lost an ounce!!! Sandy: Back away from the tater salad. Your bean salad sounds very good.. My idea: Have you ever added Splenda to this? It makes like a sweet/sour dressing similar to 3 bean salad. Beth and Shawn ate "French" last night.. I don't know where, but they said it was good. I also told them about the pool at Aldi's.. So happy that Pumpkin is happy again.. That sloppy joe recipe sounds good..So easy..and you can freeze it, too. Did my faux Curves thing, got an extra large iced coffee for the day..I was back down to 153 this morning...........I hope next week finds me at 152..crossing fingers, etc. |

No, DC is not amused! When you are 15 and arthritic, a gentleman caller is the last thing on your mind!
Speaking of having not lost an ounce... I have to knuckle down. You know how it is, a bite here, a bite there. Not good. |

Well, 900 pounds of sand later, I think my pool is even. 900 pounds of sand is not alot of sand. The man at the lumber yard says that a 5 gallon bucket holds 100 pounds of sand.
Just in case someone asks you this.. Poor DC..My DC is an only cat. He thinks I'm his girlfriend/mother combo. |

My DC 15 WISHES she was an only cat! When she was about 1 1/2 years old I brought home a kitten, now DC14, and there has never been any love lost.between them. You will never find them curled up together.
The Sloppy Joes were fabulous! Just double the ketchup and leave everything else the same. Very good. Glad to have found a good LC replacement for Manwich. Plus no HFCS. Carolyn, you've got to send us a pic of your pool! I had a little 6 foot inflatable pool when i was in my 20's to lay out in. A little neighbor girl came to the door and asked "if my daughter could come out and play". Mind you, I have no children! When I told her this, she said, "Then why do you have a pool"! Beware children knocking at your door! |

Great time yesterday! DH and I went to see Star Trek - great movie!!! Then to the Mega Raffle - a friend and I worked the beer/margarita booth - which means that I got free margaritas! Then we got to wander and chat. Great night!! DD22 and I walked and I fell into bed. Tired! Quote:

![]() Cindy - too funny about the neighbor girl! Luckily she didn't ask to join you in the pool! Poor DC!! But it sounds like DHOR is perking up!! ![]() Thanks for the recipe!!! Did you use 1.5 cups of ketchup then? |

Yes, Mary Kay. 1 1/2 cups of ketchup but leave the reat of the ingredients the same. I got this off Recipezaar but omitted the sugar and used LC ketchup. I really like that Heinze 1 carb ketchup. I used 1 1/2 pounds of meat but felt like there wasn't enough sauce to make them "sloppy" so added more ketchup and they were perfect. But I like sweet. You may like additional mustard and vinegar.
When we don't have DC's any more, my next set of cats will be sibling kittens. DC 15 still walks past DC 14 and hisses. Rain here the next 3 days. I am on vacation this week and my friend and I were supposed to take the horse Southeast Missouri for a ride for 5 days but we canceled it due to rain. Just bought a Ronco rotisserie off e-ba* for $58 including shipping, brand new. I want to start roasting some organic chickens. Gasper farms sells them for $4 a pound. I'll have to compare that to WF. Last edited by CindyCRNA; 06-14-2009 at 08:40 AM.. Reason: More to add |

Hi everyone..
Cindy: I love, love love my Ronco.............Chickens are great, pork is great, beef is great, ribs are great...You will love it, too. Gary is cleaning the garage..I'm hiding. I did "help" him a little, but I'm pretending to do laundry..LOLO. I've heard it's good to get littermates/pairs of kitties...When I brought Alex home, he was shock enough for Gary...... My pool was all sparkly clean yesterday, then it rained.........grumble, grumble..I will get a picture of it soon.. Rain is in the forecast, too... Eek..I was 154 this morning... ![]() |

Morning!
We had the great cat scare last night when one of our "inside" cats decided to break out of prison! DD22, DS20 and I were up until after midnight, but no luck. This morning I hear pitiful mewing about 5:00am and let her in the front door. The other cat hissed at her and she just ran straight for her food bowl. DD22 says she's grounded! ![]() I'm going to need a nap today! |

Morning peeps!
I have been MIA, been crazy around here, too much traveling for me for me to keep up with everything but I am home now for at least 2 weeks! Left Friday AM with DD#3 and DGS 1 to drive to NE to stay with teenage DGD16 and DGS 15 for the weekend while they were home from Honors camp for the weekend and their parents are in China. Had a great time with the teens, they are just awesome kids, my DD#1 and DSIL have done a great job raising those 2. We just visited and took them to eat and to church on Sunday, they had lots to do as they had to leave again Sun. eve to go back for 2nd week of camp. DGS 1 seemed to sense these big kids were cousins or something, he immediately "loved" them, was so thrilled to be around them and crawled all over them. Got to go to church where DGD led the singing during the service, she was awesome. Then Sun. we left at about 1:30 and drove back home, got to my house at 11:30, it was a fast trip but very fun. I am so tired of traveling right now though. My weight is inching back down by teeny tiny amounts, the byetta does suppress my appetite which is awesome and keeps my BS numbers exactly where they should be. I am ready to get time to fix some more normal food though, have eaten out way too much. Got caught up on our thread but nothing else on LCFs. Love all the chatter in our little world here! ![]()

Buffy, wow!! Did you take the little ones all by yourself? I'm impressed!! Glad to hear your meds are working for you. I sure need something to get me going, that's for sure.
I went for my walk, boy is it muggy! More storms on the way, but right now it's swimming weather for sure. |

Mary Kay, bless your heart! I know how you feel. My girls have never been out in a yard and wouldn't know what to do. I'm sure your cat was terrified. I am SO happy she(?) is safe and sound. My elderly girls only go out on the back deck and wouldn't have a clue what to do if they went into the yard.
Went to WF today. Their organic chickens are $3 a pound vs $4 a pound from the local farm but the local farm I know pastures their chickens. I may get a couple and see how they are. Bought some bison hotdogs as opposed to bison brats so we'll try those. No Nitrates. Buffy, I don't remember but were you ever on Metformin? There is a lot of info on this board about non-diabetics taking it and it helping with appitite suppression and cravings. However, it sounds like you are having good luck with your new med, I was just wondering if you had ever done Metformin? Sandy, I'm going to go to the Overland Park farmers market this Wednesday morning. Wanna go? I've never been. The only thing is I need to go early as I am supposed to ride with my friend right after. I was thinking maybe 8:00. |

I need to check out more food at WF's. I love hot dogs!!! It seems like more this year than ever before for some reason. I'm anxious to see how you like your new Ronco. Rot. chicken sounds so yummy! |

Hi gals..and Gord.
Just got home from errands..Met Gary for lunch..salad with chicken salad on top of it..New little place in Neodesha. MKay: Alex got out 2 times in his little life..Very scarey for him. So, he doesn't bolt when we have the doors open, but we are very careful. Your poor little dc, I'm sure she was really hungry.. Buffy: That is a very long drive, isn't it? How fun for you and I'm sure your grandkids enjoyed having their "cool" grandma there. Our little farmer's market is pretty sad..But, maybe they will have tomatoes on Thursday, if I remember to go then.. I was 154 this morning..DH and I went "Mexican" for lunch yesterday. They brought the chips, and dh made them take them back..(I had already grabbed one..LOL). We survived a chipless Mexican meal. |
