There are no alternatives! LOL. My alternative dress ...is even smaller. I do have a jersey dress that would do but is not really black tie.

Never did this before btw, madness. I'm going for the serious stuff from now on ...

If the worst comes to the worst I will go shopping the week before.

You can do it Kathyryn!!! I just know you can!!! Hang that dress right where you can see it every single day, several times a day. Maybe take a picture of it and put it on the refrigerator door, on your mirror, in your car, etc, etc. Be sure to drink plenty of water too to flush everything out good. I can't wait to see you in that dress!!

Kapri: This is your other mother speaking..Honestly, take the dress to a tailor and have it let out a bit...You can never tell where you are going to lose the weight and it might not be there. I am certainly not saying that you can't do it, but even if it's a bit loose, much better than tight..It would probably be cheaper than buying a new one.. Just my 2 cents.

Sandy, I'm glad no one can see me..My pool is kinda near the deck and a big tree, so I did find some drowned worms (small) that I had to get out of it before I could hop in.
It is not totally level, so I think we will buy some sand to level it up the next time I dump the water. It is so mentally relaxing..I read 3/4 of a paperback..James Patterson,
Sunday at Tiffany's..(not scarey). I actually bought it, but I will do the library thing, but I have to be careful not to get the book wet..

I'm making lamb arm chops for dinner. I've never made them or lamb at all. I just want to broil them on the grill outside. Will that work? I did make sure it's domestic. We've tasted domestic lamb and loved it. I sure hope this is good. I have some ground beef as a backup, lol.

Sandy: I don't do lamb, but I think I would google it and find out how to cook it. I do think it should be a tiny bit pink as it can dry out easily..(not like Porky Pig). Hope you enjoy it..I would say medium heat on the grill..

Hi Carolyn,

I've got a really canny friend who understands seams etc etc and will ask her if it is feasible to do that. It fits beautifully everywhere else btw.

Thanks too! Kathryn

I can't afford for my tailor to be my best friend!! I took up a plain piece of material about 5 yards long and asked how much to just run a shirt tail type hem around it. It was for a tablecloth for the table I made for family dinners. She quoted me $80!!!!!! I about fell over!!!! Needless to say, I did not have her do it. Lol.

But I agree, on some things your tailor is wonderful!!

Kapri, I hate when I am at the limit calorically speaking, but still hungry. I ended up uppng my protein intake but that is me. I did a 1 day fat fast where my fat intake was about 78%. I thought I was going to starve to death!!

Bison is quite lean because it is grass fed. It is a great alternative though if you don't want to pay grass fed prices. Bison, by their very nature, are almost always organic and grass fed. You can not feed-lot a bison. They will break the fences down so they have to be pastured. Since they are pastured, they don't need antibiotics. Their growth rate is very good so they are never given hormones as they don't need it. I get ground for $3.99 a pound.

DHOR 27 looks really good! She really has put on weight and her coat is glossy. Her face still hangs but she is physically thriving.

DC's had a gentleman caller today on the back deck. What appeared to be a 10 month old un-neutered male black cat. I gently escorted it out. DC's are too old to date!!

I am thinking about changing to Krill. Any of you use it?

Good news about DHOR27. Bad news about the gentleman cat caller, lol. Interesting info on the bison. Good to know.

MK, lots of lamb I've eaten in the past had that lanolin taste to it, so I've never liked it. I've read a lot of info about lamb since and decided to try it again. Like I said, it was yummo!!

And I fixed wilted lettuce along with the lamb. We bought tons of leaf lettuce at the farmer's market the other day and DH loves wilted lettuce. Just bacon grease and vinegar, salt and pepper. It took me years to learn to like it but now I love it.

LOL..

Love that Courtney picture, MKay..She is a real doll..

Yikes on the $80 hem..You could have bought a very nice tablecloth for that..I don't have a tailor either..Glad your lamb was good..

Ciindy: OMGoodness..what a riot about your DC..She is a cat magnet even though she is a Senior Catizen. But, you know what they say..Older women, younger men..It all works out. Bison like to "roam" like in the "Give me a home, where the buffalo roam.."
Kansas State Song, for the "others' out there.

On the hand lotion lamb..I think it's mutton sometimes..Senior Citizen lambs. Honestly, I can't even stand the smell of it cooking..I think either you love it or don't care for it.

Love wilted lettuce.........

Carolyn,

I will do. I am hoping that back flab will decrease in the next ten days or so and that could help with the rib cage. That said, the size up was no struggle at all, even slightly too big when i was six pounds heavier so I may be on the verge of a break through if some fat shifts close to rib cage area ...

Mission Uncertain! But we'll get there.

Cindy,
I'm starting off with eggs scrambled in coconut oil ..trying to keep the dairy down too ..water retention may be caused by mild intolerance and may therefore be slowing weight loss.

Salmon etc and greens later today.

Hunger guaranteed at some point. I do have a healthy appetite!!!

Cindy - now your cat is a REAL Cougar!

Thunderstorms again last night - for at least an hour. The big ones, where you can't sleep so don't even try. Very cool!

This plan is approved by me....

Just make sure you get enough fat which you will if you stick to fatty meat such as ribeyes/duck/chicken thighs....fat will keep you full

I have every confidence that you will look smashing in that dress

It's another rainy cool day. I ran all my errands and the laundry is spinning and tumbling.

DD22 and I are going to an outlet mall tomorrow. She needs some new things for her new place! I shopping!

The weather is supposed to be perfect!

I finally lost weight this morning.
And I feel better, so DD and I got our walk in.

Today is a much better day!

Hi...

Got home from my luncheon meeting..I was very good..no cheats at the Sirloin Stockade.

Kapri: Good luck with your plan. Try to eat on plan during your birthday, if you can, because one bad meal and you can lose 3 days of weight loss..Been there, done that. The thing about lowcarbing is that getting out of ketosis (by eating carbs) is not a good thing. And, it takes several days to get back into ketosis, too..Voice of experience..

MaryKay: Shopping...how fun!!! Is your dd driving to NY by herself??? Yeah for weight loss, too.

I was at 153 this morning..Hopefully, it will stick...

Hi Carolyn - DD is kind of driving by herself.
DH and I are taking a separate car and following her. I'm sure I'll be in one car or the other depending on the time.

We're going to help her move in and then visit relatives in WV before we come home.

I totally understand about one day setting a whole "good" week back.
It's not fair!

I just ordered 1/4 of an organic, grass fed cow. About 90 pounds, about $6 a pound so I'm happy. Sandy, it's that Gasper Farms place. Sandy, what do you mean "domestic" lamb? You mean from the US? I buy Costco's lamb. It is Austrailian so it is organic, grass fed because that is how they do it there.

I really like my mac nut oil butter blend. It has a great toasty flavor. I ordered 2 more. I have also been eating Ezekial bread. I find when I don't toast it, I'm fine but if I eat it as toast with butter, I crave it.

My, it has rained here!! But looking at the forcast, 90's next week. My tomato plants have a lot of baby tomatoes so that will be fun. I have 2 big freezer bags of basil already. This is all off a back deck. Rosemary is a slow grower but doing well. I love to garden. I wish we had a sunnier area but we are ALL shade except the back deck.

Jem, I was at WF and thought of you. They had a lot of goat stuff. I am tempted to try it.

Yes Cindy, domestic means raised here in the states. There's a really big difference in taste. I've never liked lamb from Aust. or NZ. But the lamb from here is great! The first I know I loved was Colorado lamb which I guess is very sought after.
I hope your beef is wonderful. Did you read her episode with the snake in the duck nest? Oh my!! How do you freeze your basil? I just potted mine last weekend with the cilantro and mint and I used some cilantro tonight. It was very good. I found some of the low carb tortillas at Price Chopper so I had one of those with some taco meat and pico and cheese. Very yummy!

Basil freezes great. Just trim the leaves off the stems and put in what you would want to be a single serving baggie, pushing most of the air out before you seal the baggie. Then i stuff those baggies in a big Ziploc and put in the freezer. When you take it out, it just crumbles frozen and is purfect to use in recipes. We love it on pizza or in pasta sauce (I use tofu noodles).

The only reason I went with the Austrailan lamb is I knew it was grass fed. I will have to try some domestic. Gasper Farms has lamb. Maybe I'll get some of that and try it. It's grass fed.

Carolyn,

Thanks for your advice. Two places will be french restuarants ..so lc etc will be achievable ..hard not to eat dessert when other are though ..argh...

I'll keep myself reined in.

I have noticed that I have increased dairy on this and will have to reduce have started to get the migraines I got in my teens. That said, there is quite a bit of stress at work at present inlcuding news at work today about whether our team is outsources with ensuing redundancies ..so my appetite is not massive anyway. !!!

Cindy - can you freeze dill? That's what's growing on my patio!

Kathryn - dessert . . . . sigh.

Morning everyone!

It's supposed to be a beautiful day here. DD22 and I are going outlet mall shopping!

The VCR/DVD player I bought isn't compatible with our old TVs. So do I buy a new TV or try to get the old one fixed?

I'm trying to have a no alcohol week - it really seems to add the pounds and I'm finally going down again. But I really wanted a glass of wine last night and I'm selling drink tickets at the high school mega raffle on Saturday night!

Can we be strong together?!
