Morning!

I've been trying to work my way through my DVR and finally saw the last 2 episodes of Trust Me last night.

Isn't my life exciting!

What's everyone up to this weekend?

So far I've only gotten to the coffee stage of my day, lol. We don't have any big plans, just playing it by ear. There are lots of events in all the little towns around us so we might hit some of those. And we might go to the local farmer's market too. Exciting, huh? How about you?

No clue.

DD25 might come over today.
There's some craft/antique shows going on etc.

DD22 and both boys have to work . . . .

DH is going to a retirement party tonight that I bowed out of.
But everyone else will be gone too . . . .

MK, I'm working 24 hours today.

Kapri, I'm a net carb counter but I've seen people do both. How about the rest of you?

Jem, my local farm here has goat yogurt. I see you eat that a lot. They also do an egg CSA which I may do next year. But man, grass fed is high. $8 a pound for ground and up to $23 a pound for steaks. I'll stick with buffalo.

Hi ladies/Gord..

Doing laundry. I did some exercising this morning, got an iced coffee..Gary is actually home today as he usually works on Saturdays.. It's kinda windy to put up my pool today..It's 18 inches deep..LOL..I'm hoping the neighbor dog doesn't think it's hers..

We might head to Bartlesville to get Gary some more slacks for work. The ones he likes are drycleanable..Too expensive, methinks...

I'm glad someone likes goat "things"..Honestly, I can't bare the taste. Maybe that's why I don't like the taste of lamb, either..

Wandered around with DD25 today - Target, Pier One, WalMart, an Asian Grill for lunch (sushi was just average), and took a 2 mile walk with DD22.

It's gorgeous here!

Kathryn - when I kept track, I used net carbs.
I lost 2 lbs this week and then the scale this morning said I gained 1.5! Overnight!!
I don't think so!

Cindy - Wow - a 24 hour shift?! How do they expect you to function?

Carolyn - do we get a pic of you in your pool?

Yes, I will try to take a picture of it when Gary gets it set up.. LOLO..I'll get him to work on it tomorrow..leveling a place...So, I don't end up in the lake (which is not a place I would want to swim at all).

Cindy says that she can sleep during the 24 hour shift, but those who can't, don't take the shift..

I think we are going to the fish place in B'ville..I will get crab legs..

Talked to DS and his "summer" is going fine..Class is going well and his research professor..Dr. Hu..(lol) seems pleased with him.

We went to 2 city festivals today and down to the Power & Light District to wander around. It was a beautiful day!! I'd like a complete repeat tomorrow please. DH went to pick up some ribs and I just made some SF coleslaw. I'm all pooped out tonight. It sounds like everybody is busy which I think is a good thing.

MK, I gained 1.5 overnight too. I know what caused it though. I'll drop it back off early in the week, I hope.

Mary Kay,
Thanks

and re unexpected scale shock -argh ..that sort of thing drives me nuts! Hope you resolve it.

One of the main pressures on me to lose weight this month is a lovely dress I want to wear fro a college reunion. The size up fitted but was gapey at the front and this size fits but I can't do the side zip up yet ...I hope that six pounds (2 per week) will ennable me to get it zipped up. It is a lovely dress.

ps I've not been counting net carbs and was a little concerned about the reduced numbers of leafy greens etc I couldfit in to 60g as a result. I think I will reduce my starchy carb in-take to 40g and keep an eye on leafy greens etc

So much to learn, so little time ...LOL

Morning!

Actually chilly here!

A friend is coming over to walk about 9:00, besides that I have miscellaneous stuff to put away and laundry to do.

I'm ready for summer to start!

Hi everyone...

It's 90 here, MKay..We will be sending you some warm weather tomorrow, I'm sure.

Kapri: Green things are always the very best choice for carbs...very best..You know, some peeps can't lose on starchy carbs..So be careful, kiddo.. Your dress sounds loverly..

I was at 154..Hoping that my new thyroid meds will take me down to where I was before..And, of course, eating sensibly and exercising.

Have a great Sunday..

Thanks Carolyn.

Are you also a measurer of net carbs when it comes to greens?

I'm still counting them as part of the whole 60g but if I ate more greens I would end up naturally consuming less starch etc and naturally keeping my cals down too.

The dress is really motivational - black halter neck with ivory empire line sash and ivory piping on the neck line ..softly drapes just onto the knee.

Kathryn

Monsoon Accessorize - Evening Dresses

I couldn't find a detailed shot but if you scroll down the dress is on the second from the bottom row black dress, Corrine. It's in a kind of crepe, chiffon floaty skirt combination and the ivory tie is in satin.

It's really nice on.

Beautiful dress Kathyrn. I'm sure you'll fit into it in no time. Are you from the UK? I think Barry mentioned that on products there the carbs are already listed as net. You might see if that's the case. I usually just count net carbs but I tend to not worry at all about leafy veggies.

It's very hot here today but there's a nice breeze at least. And I think storms are on the way.

I planted an herb bowl with cilantro, mint and basil. I love all those!!

Hi guys..

I just came out of the "pool"..It is wonderful for being 8 feet across and 18 inches deep.
I bought a lounging floaty with a cup holder and a pillow thing..All this for less than $40.
I'm hoping the lab across the street doesn't discover my pool..

I don't worry about salads or lc veggies at all..Can you imagine what 40 net carbs of lettuce would look like????

Gord: I wish we could send some nice weather your way..

Going to check out the dress, Kathryn..It's always good to have something to try on every week or so for incentive..

Today was a great day for the pool Carolyn. I'm sure it'll be very refreshing. Don't get sunburned!!

I had another off plan weekend. I guess I'd have to say that's been working for me for quite awhile now for maintenance. I guess I'll see how my blood tests look when they come back to see if it's doing me any health damage. I hope not.

Back to the grindstone tomorrow to get rid of any excesses.

Thanks Sandy. yes I'm UK based. I am finding that foo details on packets include carbs and fibre so I presume I just deduct one from the other. For Fitday, I have to do those sums in my head or ignore fibrous greens as you mentioned. If I increase green leafy veggies - it will be a good thing over all.

I'll keep going. As Carolyn, it's a huge incentive!

Kathryn

Morning!

Everyone is going in a bunch of different directions today with work and meetings and swim team!

I've been in a funk - it might have to do with DD22 leaving for New York at the end of the month . . . . It's great for her, and I need to get over it! Sigh.

Maybe I can push my energies into cleaning!
The house can certainly use it!

Kathryn - congrats on the loss! And your dress is beautiful!! Can't wait to see you in it!

Carolyn - great mental pic of you in the pool - now I want one!

Sandy - I just can't seem to stay on plan - blaming it on my funk! Very handy!

Gord - I'd be freezing at 45°F!
I'm so ready for summer!

No, but thanks for the kind offer, lol.

I just got back from doing my Interval workout. I'm really liking that workout which is very surprising to me. I've never been much of a sweaty runner type person but with my HRM and knowing what I'm supposed to get my heart rate up to and for how many minutes, it just makes it fly by and then I'm actually energized for the whole day.

I'm going to have an almost total protein day today. Really more like an induction day to hopefully swish away my weekend sins, lol.

Good morning..

My friend Pam came over and we walked our 2 mile route, then I did Curves for 30 minutes..I'm going to do my Wii Active..Honestly, I love this..MKay, have you thought of getting one??

It is sad when our kiddos are so far away.. Hopefully, she can come home once in a while...probably just the major holidays, huh? And, breaks?

Okay...I'm a little scared to tell you that I was 153 this morning..I've been good, but not starved myself, so I'm hoping it's not a fluke...This has been a Taco chip free week..

Caffeine gets me out of a funk..LOLO.. I think it is hard when transitions happen in our family. Brett's 22nd bday is a week from Friday, so we are going to Manhattan for a visit on that weekend. Beth/Shawn just spent the week in Chicago..Shawn had a business meeting/training so the hotel was paid for..I'm sure they had fun.

Hi!
You both have been with me long enough to know this will pass, but it's so hard!

Carolyn - I haven't used my Wii enough to think I would use the Wii Active!
As long as DD22 is here, I walk with her.
I should be using the gym membership I'm paying for . . .

All that being said - it looks like a lot of fun and I want one!

If I wasn't already decaffeinated, I'd jump right on the caffeine!

Maybe an iced decaf would help . . . but I need more syrups . . . maybe spending money would help!

Sandy - I'm trying to go mostly protein today too and get rid of the cravings!
So far:

B - 2 eggs
L - yogurt with PB
