We'll be thinking about you MK. Have fun and try to check in when you can.
I weighed in at 145 this a.m.!!! I haven't weighed 145 on a Monday since one Monday in March!!! I'm doing my official weigh in for the month tomorrow morning if that's ok. I have dinner theater tomorrow night and would like to "enjoy" it. I'm taking DGD10 this time. It's her first time to dinner theater. It's Sound of Music and she's very excited. Kathyrn, it sounds like you were every bit a perfect lady. And such self control drinking the mineral water after dinner. Probably a very good idea too. We can't wait to see the pics of you in August. I get to pick up my 2nd week of goodies today. I guess one of the farms we get stuff from was badly damaged in last week's terrible storm so that will effect what we receive this week. They said they'll have to sub some items until they can regroup. I feel so sorry for those farmers.

Some have made that chocolate cake with black soybeans to reduce the carbs. I don't eat a lot of soy but I think it is fine on occasion and plan on trying it.
Making a buffalo roast tonight for dinner. Buffalo makes great roast. It likes that long, slow cook. Sandy, I asked the guys at Steve's Meat Market about whether they knew if the buffalo was grain finished. Much to my horror, I found that a lot of the meat, including the buffalo, at WF is grain finished. They said, "No, we know all of our suppliers and none of them grain finish, use hormones or antibiotics". Basically, it is organic grass fed but not "certified organic" as that involves the FDA and is expensive. We have family from Germany staying with us with their 2 cats. DC's are not amused. We keep them separated. Picked my first tomato today, a yellow Lemon Boy. I will serve it with dinner like my grandmother did: sliced on a plate. S&P, nothing else. Nothing better than a warm, vine ripened tomato. |

Cindy, I don't think I've ever had grass fed only beef. I'm a bit scared of it, lol. I'm afraid it would be terrible dry without that extra fattening up time in the feed lot. We used to get our beef from my FIL and of course he always finished them in the feed lot with grain. Plus they were young cows, usually under a year old, and they were so very tasty. I guess I'm going to have to venture out and try the grass fed and see if there's a big difference. I do buy a lot of the Good Natured Farms beef at Hen House and it's good. I need to look at that label better next time.

Hi ladies and Gord..
Buffalo is getting very popular..but they are tough old guys sometimes, but I think cooking them very slowly will be fine...Your boyfriend is one lucky guy to have you.. ![]() Your poor dc's..I'm sure they will be relieved when the company cats leave. Did my exercise, got a coffee..and doing laundry.. Prayers for a safe journey for MKay and her family. The black soybeans are okay in the cake. However, I do think they are a bit drier bean that the regular black beans.. Hurray for 145, Sandy..and on a Monday for Pete's sake!!! I was 153.8, which is good for me on a Monday. I made a nommie coffee/egg shake for breakie. I used egg whites from a carton, a cup of cold expresso, some of my LC milk, ice, sweetener, a tsp. of instant vanilla pudding for thickener.

I did it! ![]() 144.5 for me today!! I think that's a one pound loss. I'm not really actually "losing" weight, but I'm doing a heck of a job of maintaining! ![]() ![]() One year ago I was at 150!!! That was right after my Mexico vacation with DGD19 though. I call that vacation fluff, . |

Low Carb Examiner
I finally found Cleo's recipes but it is a very circuitous route to get to them. She has her articles archived and within the articles are her recipes. When you go to her blog and it says "recipes here", you click on it and it says page not available. The above link will get you her recipes but you have to try to decipher which article they are in. I'm wondering if she doesn't work for the Examiner and they felt her recipes were their property. I will quit cutting and pasting but it is fun! |
