Marking my spot.
Ate very good again today, low carbs, now I can't sleep tonight so I am up at the computer trying to get sleepy enough to crawl back into bed.
Appetite under control again after 3 days of LCing.
Went shopping tonight with my friend and we didn't take time to eat, she asked if I wanted a milkshake on the way home instead, I have been caving in but this time I was able to say no, not for me.
Seems like we are all doing a little better.
I probably won't weigh in again this month, just trying to eat right but I know my weight is up from when I tried the VVLC, it kind of set me off on a binge, so trying to just get my head back on right.
Thanks for all the well wishes while we travel. I will be gone for a week, DH for 4 days. He gets bored too easily sitting around a resort so plans on coming home before me.

Morning!

I woke up at 4:00am!
I managed to doze for about 30 minutes, but finally I got up, read a couple of chapters in my book, made coffee, ate breakfast, read the paper, and now I'm going to walk before the next round of rains come.

I couldn't find my weight at the beginning of last month's thread, but I think I'm up a couple of pounds!

I'll start this one out at 125.2 (the top weight I allow myself) and know that it has to go down from here!

Buffy - have a great time!!

Good morning! Being good has paid off for me but I'm still up a bit from last month. But considering that I went over 150 at least twice this month I'm satisfied. Now I just hope I can hold onto it and continue a bit more downwards. And if I use my "real" actual Apr. 1 weight I am down. But I decided to weigh in a few days early before my BD celebrating. Now I wish I would've just bit the bullet and weighed in on the 1st. Oh well, live and learn

Weigh ins for the last year:
145.5 May 1
149 Apr. 1 (I'll post it now just for accountability's sake)
144.5 Mar. 24
144.5 Mar. 1
148 Jan. 31
149 Feb. 1
149 Jan 1
146 Dec 1
144.5 Nov 1
147.5 Oct 1
151.5 Sept 1
147 Aug 1
150.5 July 1
149 Jun 1
146 May 1
144 Apr 1

I'm definitely hanging in that bubble aren't I? Hopefully I can do better this year and hang more in the 140-145 bubble. That's my ongoing goal and I visit it sometimes but don't hang in there very long.

Hi everyone..

Yikes, I am up 2 pounds to 154.0 this month. I have to "get a grip" and avoid all bad carbs like the plague..

Lise: Good for you, girl..

Buffy: You were up late last night, weren't you? I would never get bored at a resort..But I know you all will have lots of fun.

Sandy: I think you have done great!!! I know I am up from last year..I'm trying to blame it on my hormones and thyroid..

MKay: Another early riser..I'm sure you will be one tired little puppy tonight..You can get there this month..You are usually a good loser..

Talk about rain..We had hail this morning, but no damage, I don't believe..

Hugs all around.......

I've had quite a day! First my washer broke, won't spin right. So I clean the laundry room like a madwoman so the service man won't think badly of me, lol. He's a friend of my dad's. Lol. Then Dad tells me he can't come til Monday, but at least that room is clean. It's more of a closet really. Then I start in on the dining room from top to bottom. When I got all done and sat down to rest I noticed I'd lost one of the diamonds from the ring my DH gave me for our 25th anniversary almost 16 years ago! I did make an attempt to find it, but with all the vacuuming, etc. I was doing I know it's gone!! So now I need to get that fixed!

I did run to Penney's for their sale to pick up some more of their St. John's Bay twill stretch slacks. I love, love, love the way they fit!!

Kirstie Alley was on Oprah talking about gaining all her weight back. There was another guy who'd lost over 1100 pounds who also gained every single pound back plus! Kirstie said she gained either 10 or 20 more on top of the amount she'd lost. I didn't sit and watch it all but I listened on and off. Very sad.

Gosh...I hate it when things go wrong with the washing machine..Grumble..and losing a diamond in your ring...another grumble. It's always good to check the settings on rings from time to time..I've had my engagement ring fixed twice in 31 years.

On that other guy..I have seen him at Brookhaven Clinic (after he mostly gained his weight back)..So sad..He has a huge eating disorder, methinks.

My house is dusted and vacuumed!
It actually looks good just about everywhere!

I love it when that happens!

Went to see Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.
Very predictable --but cute!

Sandy - you're a cleaning fiend!

Carolyn - I was at 124.6 after my walk! Weird!

Lise - congrats!!!!!

Welcome, KNB80. You will see we all do a little variation on a theme. Many here are straight EFGT. Myself, I'm a 60/30/10 girl. I find I need a bit more protein or I'll start whining!. Welcome to our little group and feel free to tell us about yourself. My goal is to exercise 5 days a week and I JUST put it in my calender! Funny you should mention that!

Carolyn, I'm sorry about your ring! That's too much of a bummer.

Sandy, your Avitar is too cute.

Welcome Knb, and thanks Cindy. I thought my avi was ready for a change and I found that one that fit, lol.

Carolyn, I've had my engagement ring fixed many times and it's my 2nd set! But it sits up high and gets a lot of abuse. The last time I had it done in platinum and it hasn't needed fixed since. The anniversary ring is all my fault. I told DH it needed to be checked and just didn't do it yet. I hope it doesn't cost much to get it replaced. It needs a new shank too. Ugh.

Hi all, starting out the month of May at 147-seems like the perpetual 147
Took the dog running today, did around 4 miles and kept it at 1500 calories (yay me!) ratios were very good.
I got called in tonight so I'm going to try and keep my cal's overall at 1500 for the next 3 days, but if I go up to 2000 I'm not going to sweat it too much. I do really well on my 6 day off stretch. My wedding ring is just a band, and I am so happy about that! No worries of losing things I am so sorry that you lost yours and your washing machine is on the fritz! Ugh
OK gotta go, talk to you all later
Becky

Becky, that is so hard, being up for 24 hours and trying to keep calories down but congrats on yesterday. That's the good thing about having a dog. You can't take a cat on a 4 mile run! Well, I guess I could if I got one of those baby carriers you strap on your front!

MKay, I thought that movie looked cute but the critics here kinda panned it. I still think it looks like a nice movie.

Semi-sunny today. I'm going to go out and work on the deck and in the garden. We have a deck that has a wooden fence around it but the cats have learned that they can shimmy thru the railing and try to make an escape so I'm tacking up a fine netting on the back side all the way around so they can't get out. Bad girls!

Good morning! I must've gotten up too late for the sun, it's all cloudy here now. Today is the BBQ at DD's house so I have to get started on my tater salad.

I was down to 144.5 this a.m.!! Woohoooo!!! Hopefully that'll be incentive enough to not stray too far off the track today.

I watched Grey Gardens yesterday. That was a true and very sad story too. The acting was good though. DH wants to go see Wolverine and there are several others that we still haven't seen. We haven't gone to the movies much lately for some reason.

Have a great day today!!

Morning friends!
Ugghhh, did not sleep well at all last night, again! This week is my "hormonal" week of PMS although I don't have periods, but my hormones still cycle. So, I get PMS and sometimes it is worse than others. This week seems to be one of the worse ones but in addition to the soreness, swelling and discomfort from falling off the ladder, I have been groaning and moaning . During this pms cycle I usually have 1 - 4 sleepless nights, check, wake up one night with horrid acid reflux, check, have terrible gas, check, stomach huge and bloated, check and overall feeling of being more tired than I have ever been in my entire life, check! So, hopefully, this is almost over for this month and will be gone before I leave Tues. on the trip. Last night was the acid reflux night, not sure who all of you have that but it is awful to wake up suddenly in the night coughing with the most horrible acid eating away at the back of your throat. Took about an hour of sitting up, drinking acid reducer, etc. to get that calmed back down. Then, diarreah hit, so was up and down several times with that. I tell you, I have just been a mess this week. But, did get out yesterday to get nails done and pedicure and I get hair cut/color today so all that is left is the packing and going to see DGS (11 months) before we leave, I don't want to go another week without seeing him.
Just found out yesterday that DD#2, mother of DGS 11 months, is pregnant, or her test came back positive yesterday. They will check again in 2-3 days, she just went through IVF so hopefully all is good. She is 41 so the doctor said if they were going to have another that they had better have it asap, thus having them so close together.

Everyone seems to be pulling their acts together a little better, guess we just had to have spring come along to help get us motivated. The good thing about this past week is that I have eaten well since Monday, all LC.

About rings, diamonds, abuse, etc., I got a beautiful new set on our 25th and I don't wear it at home when I am working, cleaning, etc. It is insured but I would hate to have anything happen to it. I know many women though who never take their rings off so I can understand if you feel that way.

to our new friends, we are always glad to have friends come to hang out with us.

Kittens are 5 weeks old now and this morning the mother had them down in the main part of the shed where we feed her so DH put them in a box and brought them in to me. I WILL NOT be trying to put them back in the attic today . Today they can go back to where he found them in the shed and if she wants them back in the attic, she can put them there

That sounds like a great idea Buffy. No more ladders for you! I have acid reflux too and last year when I lost my hearing in one ear the ENT asked me about it. I'd gone to him before for it but it seemed to get better so I stopped the meds for it. Well last year he told me I still had it and it never goes away and that when you have it you have to take meds for it forever. Ever since then I take a Zantac every a.m. and p.m. and do great. Once in awhile I have to take an extra one. But usually only if I eat something really bad for me, lol.

Keeping my fingers crossed that the 2nd preg. test is positive too.

OK, I made the potato salad, tasted it AND spit out the bite! I can't even believe myself, lol. It tasted great too. Then I ate a hard boiled egg for breakie. And it's really almost lunch time.

Hi gang..

Acid reflux..yuck..My dh has that and cannot drink coffee or orange juice or soda. If he does, he gets a recurrence. He hasn't had to take the meds as long as he avoids those things..

Buffy: Get well before you leave for your trip...please..I'm sure your kitties are adorable..No ladders for you..

I have heard of Grey Gardens, Sandy..who is that about? Good for you for spitting out the tater salad....and getting down on your weight..

KN: What's your "name"? We always like to address peeps by their names..bacon is my favorite...I got some today.

Gary is on the plane and will be home tonight...probably for dinner, so I will scrounge around for something in the fridge..LOL..hot dogs, maybe with a salad.

I have a jewelry party this afternoon to go to..I hate those things, but I might find some
earrings for Beth for Christmas.

Yes, let's hope the PG test is a true positive.

KNB, sometimes I do just bacon for breakfast....but it is 10 pieces! Have a problem with portion control! Have you been to ******.com? It is a great place to log what you eat and it breaks it down into fat, carbs, fiber and protein and also percentages so it is a huge help. You can also make a log of "custom" foods that you eat a lot. This is helpful if you have a package of something you got at the store but I use it for stuff i use a lot like raspberries, cream, BACON, eggs, ect. If you want to get an idea of what we eat, there is a thread on EFGT called "No Fooling Around Food/Exercise Log" where we have logged last months food a few times.

Outside today putting up netting on the inside of the fence around the deck as my cats have learned how to shimmy through the rungs. Rotten things!

BF is on 24 hour call so I have the house to myself. Well, back outside. Have a good day, all.

decided to try some lower carb crackers per dr bernstein...wasa, rye crisp type. there is not much to them but it might be fun. i have not been a grain eater for quite a while but have decided to shake things up and not be concerned about fiber (which i have avoided), if my tummy will handle it.
i do know that things have changed over this year and i don't feel as well and that is probably due to my blood sugar. i was probably not so aware of it before and was also working very hard so just chalked it up to that.
i am having a little carb w protein or fat; this afternoon i had a crisp bread w pb then a couple hours later had 3 small tomatoes w a couple oz cheese. that was instead of lunch.
it works out well because it's not enough to cause digestive problems.
had a meatloaf lettuce wrap for dinner...not a ton of food but comfortable.
i did have 2 breve lattes today and of course my morning smoothie so plenty of cals and fat.

i just need to feel well most of the time again. i'm trying to decide if i'm feeling any effect of that wee dose of hormone yet. it's been about ten days.

Good Morning All

I wondered if I could possibly join your challenge this month, I was doing so well up until last week and fell spectacularily off the 'wagon' and have now gained 4lbs.
I really need some support now I can't do this thing on my own anymore, I started Atkins April 08 and the weight started to drop for the first time in years
but things were going a little static and to be honest I was getting bored with Atkins, then I started to read the EFGT threads I even bought his book 'Natural Health & Weight Loss' and here I am. Although I hasn't lost any significant weight on this diet my body shape has changed for the better which mystifies me, if I haven't lost any weight where has all the blubber gone lol!

Good morning..

A special welcome to FP..another LOL lover.. I can see..We would love to support you during your weight loss journey. I love "Where has all the blubber gone?" Well, fat takes up more space than muscle so you can lose inches without losing any weight. Plus, if you are exercising or eating enough protein, you will gain muscle...You will be in Onederland before you know it!!!! What's your "real" name??

I don't think I'll be making any more LC cakes for the month of May. I'm going to try to eat cleaner and avoid LC sweets this month. Honestly, even though the carbs are low, the calories are pretty high..

Gosh, another "wet" day in KS...Luckily, we haven't had any floods lately.

We are meeting an old friend after church for lunch. I will be very good..Hopefully, they won't want to go Mexican..No chips for me if they do...........I will sit on my hands.

How's everyone today???????

Of course you may join us! We love newbies. Just jump in and post away so we get to know you . We're very supportive here even if we ourselves fall off the wagon occasionally. Which if you've been lurking you probably have already seen.
