Cindy - Ouch!! I hope you feel better!

Ms Festive - you have to do what works for you!

Sandy - you're such a dynamo!! Come to my house!

Zilla - where are you?

Carolyn - What's up for you today?

jem - I think it's only bad if it's a website that does what this one does.
Like you could mention the Lowe's website without a problem.

eb - keep working it - it'll become easier.

Hey, where is everybody??

I got all my stuff to paint, so tomorrow I do the MBR vanity. I still have a few things on my kitchen cleaning list too. I need to straighten drawers, cupboards and my pantry closet. And I'm sure there's more. There's ALWAYS more.

I did make it to the gym again and walked/ran the dog. She thinks I've lost my mind.

My small mp3 player died. I've tried everything to revive it and it just won't do anything. If I plug it into the computer I can see what's on it, but it won't let me delete anything or add anything and what is on there won't show up when it's unplugged from the puter. I reinstalled the software, reset the player, tried reformatting, nothing is working!! I love that little player!! And I like the fact that it uses real batteries instead of always having to plug it in to recharge it. Grrr.

Hi..

I ran around all morning..got a haircut, etc..

I ordered that Metabolism book..It talks about those with Metabolism A..can lose weight like crazy and the Met. B peeps..who lose very slowlyyy...and have some insulin issues...The first 8 weeks are very similar to Atkins..However, they allow 5 carbs in 5 hours. They don't seem to count veggies as carbs, but dairy, and fruits and grains. Only fruits aren't allowed really..unless it is one strawberry..LOLO. It's 5 net carbs in 5 hours..Then after that, you slowly add carbs in..so that you get around 50ish a day..

Today is our 31st anniversary..Gary is coming home early so we can go to Tulsa for dinner..We won't be early enough for the Senior Citizen Special, but you never know........

Hugs all around............Sandy, do you have a Creative Zen machine?
I've had to download a recovery tool..then yesterday I called OKCity via
India to get a tech on the line to help me erase all the books I had on the
thing..I thought I had erased them..

Cya later..Gotta get dressed in a bit.

The dog and I did a long run today, somewhere between 6 and 7 miles-phew! Went to costo and bought out their meat aisle as well as some GREAT gouda cheese-our family's new fave cheese. OK I told you guys wrong, the aidell's apple sausages has 3 g carbs, the garlic and gruyere 2 g, but no preservatives (checked the labels today) made some coconut bread last noc and the kids have managed to eat through half of it (I have eaten 2 slices and it's half gone LOL)

Becky, I love smoked Gouda but can't find the smoked at Costco so I have to get it at the store. I'm also in muenster and brie. I get both at costco for about 1/3 of the price at the store. Your numbers look great.

Happy anni Carolyn! Let us know where you and Gary go

Y'know, I thought it was so interesting, I"m a total type B metabolism-lose slowly, issues with sugar, etc. but I did get a type A metabolism for about 4-5 months last summer when I did this intensive program called P90X and I did a 3 month cycle with no cheating-boy, I lost weight, gained muscle, and for a few months there I could eat whatever I wanted and I didn't gain an ounce-I think it was the suddenly largely increased muscle mass-I don't have the time or inclination to do it now, I just thought it was interesting

Cindy-we haven't tried the smoked, but I've figured out that you have to get certain brands of Gouda to get that semi soft texture and butterscotch finish-I enjoy Brie too but the rind is a pain costco carried another double cream cheese that was much taller than brie so I might try that, think it was more like a camembert but there would be more cheese to cut the rind around

Yeah, Becky, I cut the rind off my brie. I just like the soft stuff inside.

We went to the Stone Horse Cafe in Utica Square in Tulsa..Very nice..great food..
I had a Caesar salad, crab cakes, grilled asparagus, 1/2 of a creme brulee and a glass of wine. I got on the scale and was the same..However, it will probably catch up with my
tomorrow..It was very nice.

Becky: I think Type A metabolism is too hard to keep up..

This book is interesting..She is not a carb hater..but under control..like Barry. On the 3rd phase..Maintenance, you can have 12 tortilla chips..LOLO

Hope everyone is doing fine..........

Hugs all around..Did my Curves this morning..June and I are going to walk..It's 77 so we had better do it before it gets too hot..Where are my shorts??????? Plus, there is a dead
possum at the bottom of our hill I will have to avoid.

Carolyn-yum, sounds good! Creme Brulee is a weak spot of mine too

Well, my body let go of some serious water weight last night so I think I pushed myself into ketosis yesterday-I was up every hour for the first few
pulled on some "tight" jeans this AM and they weren't tight-yay, I think I'm on the right track! Maybe it was the combo of increased protein, slightly decreased fat, and decreased carbs. Or maybe it was the 7 mile killer run...... whatever, I'm happy this morning. I won't weigh though until next tuesday, I only weigh at work so I won't be tempted to weigh more than once a week. And with that, I'm going to gobble some eggs and sausage this morning!

And a 7 mile run!! You go girl!! My BF did the Patriots Run on 9/11 last year. You run for 9 hours and 11 minutes, not the whole time. You could walk or take a break. There were no rules, per se. Anyway, he ran 45 miles!! And he came in 4th! The number one spot went to a guy that went 61 miles! Man, I don't even like to DRIVE 61 miles!!

Cindy: What?????????? He ran 45 miles in 9 hours 11 minutes? That is amazing..

I do need to "run" more to get myself sweating. I do a bit of running on the treadmill at Curves, and I have a treadmill here, so I should do that, too.

I ran 2 blocks again yesterday, lol. My pup definitely thinks I'm losing it. I feel like all the neighbors are peeking at me behind their blinds. Paranoia!! Heck, most of them prolly aren't even home! I wonder if I run "funny"? I'm cracking myself up here, lol.

I just got done going thru all my cabinets and tossing and straightening. Whew! What a job! I feel so good though. Every room in my house except one big closet/storage room and the exercise room are "company ready". I need to tackle those next week sometime. Now, if I can just keep it up.

I'm trying to eat VLC this week. Last night I did have a salad AND some brocolli but that was all the carbs I had yesterday. My weight is trying to stick like glue this week after my bad weekend. I told DH last night that I sure hated paying the piper. He laughed.

I do have to say that I have no appetite so that's a good side effect of the VLC. I'm having a big steak tonight but I bet I don't eat it all. And a small salad too. DH is at a company event so I'm eating alone.

Sandy, I can't believe you just said that! I started VLC yesterday to get a hold on my cravings. Grains are a huge trigger as is anything starchy so i'm going cold turkey. I just posted today's menu in our Barry Food and Exercise log. Basically, 8 net carbs today with carbs coming from my casein protein powder, Almond Breeze and a little bit of very green baby lettuce. I think you are like me. We let the carbs creep up, then bam, so does the weight ever so slowly. I bought a bunch of ground buffalo from a De Soto meat market. It is grass fed and less than half the price of grass fed beef. it was $3.99 a pound. WhooHoo . We can commiserate.

That market is right down the street from my son!! I didn't know they had buffalo. I've been lurking at a VLC thread here at LCF's and thought I saw your name a couple of times. If I continue eating this way, I might 'de-lurk' and post there too. I do have trouble with carb creep for sure. So if you just decide not to eat 'em they creep waaayy slower, lol. There are still some in the eggs, cream, cheese, etc., but that's not too bad.

LOLO...Good for you, gals.. Today I am trying to watch my carbs..I think one of my culprits was a SF Mocha or a Iced Latte that I would get at my favorite coffee place..
There was a bit of carbs involved via the milk..So, I'm sticking to Iced Americano with cream.

Sandy: You are the cleaning queen along with Mary Kay.

Survivor is on tonight and then Hell's Kitchen..What would I do without reality shows?

We are kinda into The Amazing Race but I get too worked up! Oh, and I'm so embarrassed, The Housewives of (fill in the blank). Atlanta, couldn't watch it, too dumb. Liked when they were in New York. Next, I forget which city.

Sandy, I lurk over there to but there isn't a lot to talk about when you just eat meat! "Oh, I fried mine", "I ate a steak" haha. Actually, they talk about a lot as, like us, there are a lot of variations on a theme. A very good natured, supportive group, which I have always been impressed with on this board. I just found my self obsessing too much about the Julian Bakery's LC bread!! Besides, who wouldn't want to eat 12 pieces of bacon for breakfast. I love to see peoples faces at work when i sit there and eat a mound of bacon and they are having Corn Flakes and skim milk and wonder why they are dying by 10:00am!!

Zilla - where are you?
Here I am!!

I have been wicked busy. I am trying to finish all my planting beds so I can get my starters in the ground before they get all leggy. I am also working and wrangling ducks. During all this I am also texturing the living room walls and then I have to paint

No change on the weight loss front. Still up 5 lbs over last winter, but people keep telling me how great I look so it is hard to get upset! LOL

On the duck front, I sold Lana and Jack to a nice couple in Pueblo. Jack was trying to rip Bungie's head off...most likely because he is a boy and Jack didn't WANT to share his girls. He also wasn't being nice to Uno. And since Lana loves him so much AND she is really LOUD, it made sense to find them a home together. It is hard to sell just a drake since you only need 1 drake for up to 8 hens. Selling them as a pair only took a day.

With those two gone I now have Chrissy, Bungie and Uno. I also have 3 more baby girls on the way. They will be Welsh Harelquin ducks...great egg layers once they grow up. We will be short on eggs through the summer, but by fall, I will have those 3 laying and most likely Uno too! It is looking like Uno is a girl, but we wont know for sure until next week or so.

Latest pic...

Hi..

Oh, Linda..we missed you and your duckie stories..I'm so glad that Lana and Jack are happy together. Now, Bungie will be the King of the Girl Ducks, no? So, the tall one is Bungie, and little one is Uno? Hey, you might be losing inches instead of pounds..I'm sure you look great.

Cindy: I love bacon, too..First Watch has a great bacon omelette.. with cheese and avocado. Corn flakes and skim milk...eww....We like the Amazing Race, too..Gary will watch that one because he likes the scenery and the culture. I am rooting for the Chinese lawyers..

Hi all, my intake today was good again, protein was actually a bit higher than it should have been, fat a bit lower but carbs good which is my biggest concern. Felt a bit tired today and foggy, and had sugar cravings.....! had a few dk chocolate almonds and finished it off with 2 squares of safeway select 78% dk chocolate (this has less sugar than the 80 something percents I've looked at so I stick with it-3 large squares has 9gms carbs and 5 gms fiber, and it's creamy and not grainy) and I had a spoonful of peanut butter. My steamed broccoli had more carbs than anything else I think
If any of you can find the chicken burgers with veggies in them at costco, they're way good-also that spinach and aged white cheddar sausage I got from there-major yum! It's my new favorite, and no artificial anything, 2 gms carbs per large sausage-it packs a protein punch though at 18 gms and only 8 gms fat, so eat it with fat Brand is Benetino's. Anyways, here's my stats for the day
Calories 1,509
Fat 105.7 937 63 %
Saturated 25.4 226 15 %
Polyunsaturated 12.7 110 7 %
Monounsaturated 23.1 201 14 %
Carbohydrate 37.7 146 10 %
Dietary Fiber 14.0
Protein 102.4 404 27 % (oops!)
Alcohol 0.0 0 0 %
Tomorrow run with dog, I"m making it a short 4 mile one-I think part of my fatigue today was from the run yesterday, and in that sense the extra protein was probably ok. I didn't do anything exercise wise today other than the usual running around, my 5 yo DD only goes to school 3 days a week (she turned 5 in november so kindergarten isn't until next year) so while her brother is in kindergarten we jaunt around town Went to JC Penneys today to use my 10 dollar off mother's day coupon and of course we had to get her something too LOL she advised me on shirt colors and as a result I ended up with jewel tone purple and pink hehe-but they are cute shirts and they do look nice
Cute duck pics Linda! DH and I have chickens, we're getting 4-5 new chicks this year to phase in with the old ones, they all decided to molt now when we removed the heat lamp we had in there through the winter!
Carolyn and Cindy-mmmmm, BACON! Nothing better than fried pig fat
It makes me laugh too when I tell people I eat fat to lose weight-just the expressions on their faces-like they are jealous but at the same time expect me to keel over from a heart attack right there in front of them
I do miss my mary's gone crackers, I bought the sticks and twigs version for my son today and they smelled soooo good-if there comes a day where I must do a little carb cycling, they're in with some nice cheese-*sigh* Gosh I wrote a novel-sorry!

No internet for most of yesterday - anyone miss me?

Eating has been awful and exercise is a 2.5 mile walk a day.
I'm not sure why this is suddenly so hard?!

I've been really tired too - last night I was asleep at 9:00am - again!

Becky, where are the chicken burgers at Costco? Are they frozen or in the refrigerated area with the cheese? Your numbers look good. Protein is up there but with your activity level, I think you can get away with it.

Linda, the babies are too cute. Nothing is cuter than a fuzzy duck!

MK, that is so frustrating when your internet goes down for no reason. It makes me want to throw my laptop!

Carolyn, I like the Chinese couple also. No drama! The mother deaf son combo are a little too co-dependent. She won't let him grow up and I'm not sure he has a life outside of her!

Sandy, this is the first morning I woke up and wanted something for breakfast other than what I had! I had 3 eggs with a slice of muenster cheese on an Oopsie but I wanted a Maple Groves Farms LC Belgian waffle! I ate the Oopsie sandwich but i hate wanting something elese but it doesn't fir in the plan. My goal is single digit net carbs and they add up quick!
