Losing muscle on FAT FAST?
everyone! hope all is good! Im new to this site and to fat fast really. Just looking for a a bit of advice..... I've been on fat fast for ten days now and have lost 9 pounds, which is great for me because i've never had much sucsess in induction phase. I now weigh 117 pounds 5'5 and really want to get to 112, but i'm afraid im losing to much muslce, so won't look the best i can at the end of it, how can i avoid this since you lose muscle when you are in ketosis and work out. Please don't say i will bounce when go back onto induction I know a a few people that have only put on a couple of pounds if even that after they have done fat fast.Thank you x |

How much protein are you eating on the "Fat Fast"? If you are really on Atkins' Fat Fast, it was meant for 5 days only. If you lose weight quickly, you are losing muscle..The slower, you lose (with adequate protein), the less muscle you lose.

You should mix up cardio with weight or resistance training. If you go to the Exercise Board on this site, there is great advice on there.
It all depends what you like to do. Do the exercises that you will do.. |

117 pounds at 5'5 - only 5 lbs to take off. Be patient with yourself. do you have some horrible unsightly bulge somewhere? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but do you think you might be beating yourself up a bit too much? You probably stop traffic when you walk down the street. I'm sure you look great.
What is your fat to muscle ratio? Frankly, at that weight I would just exercise and worry about the fat to muscle ratio and not fixate on the scales. |

Just wondering...
what is up with my body?
Would you believe that I did the fat fast for 5 days a few months ago and lost ZERO pounds? Is that the strangest thing that you have ever heard or what? And I didn't cheat in any way, I followed everything to the letter. Never over 1000 calories, and zero carbs. My body, huh....my body! ![]() |

At 5'5" and 112 you would have a BMI of 18 which is really on the low side. Right now @117 you have a BMI of 19 which is still on the low side of healthy...I'd say concentrate on exercise and maintaining. Sometimes you get to the point where you don't need to lose more weight but need to rearrange what's there through exercise
