Hi guys..

Okay..we are all going to be really good this week, right? I was up to 144 this morning..
No big surprise there. So, I'm back on track this morning.

You know weight gain happens...so darned quickly. The older you get, the harder it is.
I guess our bodies want to hang on to every piece of fat in case of a famine or our
kids put us out on an ice flow..

I'm making some turkey Italian sausage tonight with Light Ragu.

Happy everyone is safe and sound.

I'm doing a protein drink fast today. I'll have either 3 or 4 depending on my hunger levels. With my low carb milk. Hopefully that'll give me a good jumpstart back to eating right. I've had one so far even though I wasn't hungry yet. I had it after my weight workout.

Whoa Carolyn, 144 is good for you, right?
So far I have done much better today.
Sandy, good luck with that jumpstarting you back on track. Sometimes getting away from real food is kind of what it takes.

Two protein shakes and 3 cups of coffee w/half and half so far today. I'm still not feeling any hunger. And I'm drinking water. Probably not enough but I'm trying. It's hard for me when it's chilly outside.

Clutter multiplies at my house. Rapidly too.

I know Carolyn when I saw 144 I thought WOW WTGG! did I miss that loss somewhere? Then, I caught up with the posts...too bad. It could be your body adjusting to those new meds too.

Yikes Buffy, papers having babies...I have boxes of them here! We need to know how to get rid of them and put them on a contraceptive huh? LOL! I try to ditch as much as I can as they come into the house the recyle gets lots of papers, then there are those we hold onto. What's with that?

Sandie, sounds like today's woe was on track even though you struggle with the chilly weather. I was way up today over my caloric limit the ratios were not too bad though.

Yup.. I wish my new meds were working..grumble. Because she added T3 to my T4, the T4 amount is lower than my normal amount. I do think I need an increase and will ask for
Armour this Wednesday. I'm seeing my hormone results on Wednesday, so it might be a really depressing day.

Tomorrow is going to be nice here..so I can finish putting a second coat of poly on the
baseboards for the bathrooms.

Ahhh, Carolyn, hoping that 144 was for real! Sounds like lots of us ate better today, I know I did a lot better and feel better tonight b/c of it.
I got lots of papers to the shredder and to the recycle bin before they could reproduce before my eyes. My desk looks much better organized than it did this morning.
Off to bed, cya all tomorrow!

I lounged around yesterday, so I'll have to make up for it today!

I need to visit mom, return part of DD22's suit (she needed the size 2 jacket not the 4, but we got both), grocery, library, and 2 cats to the vet.

Carolyn - you'll see 144 as soon as she gets your meds right. See - it's not your fault!

Buffy - it's a never ending battle with the paper! I need to do that today, but Flylady is in the bathroom - darn!

Well my protein day was good. I dropped 2.5 overnight. Which still puts me over my beginning weight of the month. I feel like I'm back on track now though.

I really need to meet Flylady. I keep thinking that but I must be avoiding her, lol.

Morning all.
MK, how long have you had flylady in your life? I love the idea and think it is a great approach to keeping the house in order. I still have my cleaning lady every 2 weeks so for now that keeps me in line but when I have to give that up I must develop some type of plan or we will live in a pig pen.

Hello to everyone!

Sandy, when you say your protein was good, how much was it? I very left brained and have to have numbers.

Carolyn, there is nothing they can tell you tomorrow that will be depressing because it is all fixable. It may take a bit but don't give up. This is a rough time for our bodies. Everyone here benefits from the stories as they have either been through it or will go through it. I wish I had more knowledge going into this as I thought I had a few more years. My appointment is tomorrow also. (No wonder Gord has been quite, Too many hormonal women here!! haha)

Worked yesterday and did very little which was great except I forgot to take my melatonin to work. Woke up at 3am and couldn't get to sleep till after 5 so I really do need the stuff. Will put a bunch in my bag so I don't get caught again.

I had 84 g. of protein, 31 g. of fat and 15 g. of carbs. Not perfect ratios, but very low carb with no hunger and it was just to jumpstart me back to eating right and to try to minimize any long lasting damage from my Easter day of gluttony. It probably would've been closer to the correct ratios if I would've used cream in my shakes instead of my homemade low carb milk. But then my calories would've risen considerably too. I'm not suggesting that anyone do this, I'm just sharing my experience.

IDK, Mary Kay, Flylady looks kind of scary, lol.

Flylady isn't too scary . . . .

I've been doing it a while - though keeping up with the daily missions is hard.
I usually end up doing it all in one day!

Well, I didn't exactly follow her directions but it did inspire me to clean the 2 bathrooms on the main level. And I even went thru the cabinets and threw away all the old stuff. So is it bathrooms all week? I think I get discouraged b/c no matter how hard I try my sink just won't shine! It's old and I need a new, shiny one, lol.

Hi everyone..

Thanks, Cindy..I am glad I am "fixable"..We will have to compare notes..

Sandy..wowowow for you..it was only water from the carbs. I haven't dropped anything yet, but am hopeful tomorrow.

LOL..on cleaning the bathrooms..Gary and I have new rules for our new bathrooms..Nothing on the sink except soap..We each have a drawer for our "stuff"..

Flylady kept sending me tons of emails..I do like her system...

Okay..big question: What do you guys use to clean windows? We have some sliding glass doors that are really hard to keep clean. I'm thinking of trying white vinegar and water.

I made some kiwi strawberry koolaid with Splenda. It is very nommie and I'm thinking this is helping me get my water in.

Met the lady who does prison ministry at our local jail. Our church gives them religious books. They have to be soft back books so they can't make weapons out of them..However, they have many inmates who attend Bible Studies several times a week..so that is a good thing.

How are our ducklings? I wonder how Uno is doing?

I wash windows with a weak dish detergent/water mix and use a squeegee. Then wipe off errant water drops with a paper towel. They always look great.

Does Gary agree with the new rule too? I can make all kinds of rules but if DH doesn't want to do it, it doesn't get done. I can't really complain though. He squeegees the shower after every use, he makes me coffee every day, he doesn't leave his clothes laying around and he takes all his laundry from the laundry room and puts it away w/o being told to. It only took me 41 years to accomplish this, lol. His big fault is he can fill a flat surface in the blink of an eye, lol. His "stuff" is on the desk, the vanity, his dresser top and his end table. If I complain he'll clean it off but I hate to nag all the time, you know? I know there's plenty I do to bug him too and he hardly ever lets me know it. So I guess he's a keeper for sure, lol.

Hi!

Carolyn - I got off of Flylady's emails and just get one a day.
Though at the beginning of the week she sends out a sneak peak and it has the entire week in it.

I think you're supposed to use newspapers to clean windows . . .

Sandy - try Windex on your sink!

Hey Mary Kay does Flylady write to Canada too? Sheesh! I sure need that kind of motivation too! How does one sign up for this please?

Eating was still on track today, tomorrow is my last day in my own home so hopefully eating will be good. Thursday we are gone for 2 weeks and I know already some eating will be off track.

Scales stayed the same this morning which I was pleased to see no increase at least.

Carolyn, Hope Wednesday is a Happier day than you are expecting and that the planets align so things run smoothly for you and those results.

Sandy, yes your DH does sound like a keeper, funny how long it takes us to train them huh? LOL! Glad to hear that protein worked well for you.

Cindy, Oh yes, dont forget your sleeping draft, thats important to get that much needed sleep on those long shifts. Seems your numbers are excellent these days.

Great job on the paper shredding Buffy. I guess thats one way to stop them multiplying.

Leisa, thats great that Flylady lives in your hometown. Tonight is the first time I've heard about her.

Hi gals..and Gord.

Flat services and men..Gary and Brett do their fair share of filling them up, too..I think Gary likes the new bathroom rule. He needs to put up the mirrors cuz I can't see myself when I dry my hair..not a good thing..Tonight is the tax thing..and tomorrow is the mirror thing.

Wow...The Flylady is a real person who eats in a real restaurant..That is exciting.

Susan: No gain over Easter??????????? The bunny would be proud of you.

I burned some old bills up in the fireplace today..They gave off a nice warm glow..LOL..

Yes, tomorrow is my hormone day. I know I don't have any hormones, but I'm not going to do the pellet thing that this doctor does. One lady takes a compounded "gummy" bear type of thing with estrogen/pro/test in it..She puts in under her tongue and lets it
dissolve.

Hugs all around......

Oh, Carolyn, we have to weigh tomorrow! Oh, well, might as well get it over with.

All right, those of you with profound experience. I was just reading on oxidized cholesterol and what exposing foods to high heat that contain cholesterol. So, is there an alternative to ultra pasteurized cream? I use it daily. That explains why everyone wanted cold expeller pressed coconut oil! Don't want the high sat fat CO exposed to high heat. Anyone else this obsessive!

Morning!

Susan - you can go to Flylady.com or join us on the Flylady thread!

Cindy - WHO has to weigh-in tomorrow? Not me!!!

Hi Carolyn - So are you on hormones or not? What did you decide?

Today I need to buy First Communion gifts for my niece and nephew (twins), teach JA to a kindergarten class, find a pretty flower pot for DD22's shamrock plant, talk to some people about the PEO workshop this weekend, and most importantly try to get a walk in!

Got my workout in and showered, washed my hair, cleaned the shower and cleaned my kitchen sink. MK, I tried the Windex, nada. I'm telling you the finish is shot!

Carolyn, I tried those gummy bear hormones once. I didn't like them. They took too long to disolve, IMHO. I take capsules now but I think I'm going to switch to the cream.

cindy, organic valley does both pasturized and ultra. depends on where you shop. you might check trader joe's.
the local dairies here just pasturize. maybe the same in your area.
my question is; does it matter once it's pasturized...since it's already exposed to high heat will the ultra process really make it worse?
