The Grove's idea is to eat real and natural foods. He doesn't like protein powders. He emphasizes eating fatty meat, eggs and he is ok with dairy. Is that really 2000 calories?

That may be true, but it is not what Groves says - he says 50-80 gm carbs/day. On the other hand, when asked about very low carb, he doesn't seem against it so long as the bulk of your food comes from fatty meat and not a bunch of franken-food. Grove's reasoning is that it is too stressful on the body to go too low carb too fast.

Look carefully on the sausage you get - they often put sugar in it.

Meee: This is my opinion after years of experimenting..I do think that 1700-2000 calories is too many to lose weight. The older you get, the harder it is to lose on a large amount of calories. I think your protein and carbs were fine..I would lower the fat to get around 1500 calories in. On the first post, you were eating about 80 percent fat. Because you aren't losing, then that is your body telling you to "cut back". It does take a while to adjust, yes, but I would start with 1500 as a base and see what happens.

Keep tracking with ****** and balancing things..Women over 40 have a harder time losing because of hormonal issues.. Fun..fun..But, you can do it..and you will have to
tweak to make it work..We all have done it.. Good luck and keep us posted and join our Challenge..

Meee, I think that the body does take time to get used to all of the changes going on. That is why it is so important that you NOT GIVE UP!!! I only say that because these thoughts were running through my mind. It is so hard, but don't weigh every morning if you normally do. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Mee,
Are you sure the calories are right?

It seems high to me for what you listed above. If it is correct, what foods would bring it up so high? I don't know the calories on the whey protein or macadamia nuts. The meats are small quantities so I doubt that boost up your calories.

You listed "cream". Is that half and half, heavy cream or milk? The only one low in carbs is heavy cream.

I would lower your carbs to 20 and the calories like the other poster said.

Best of luck

You might be losing inches, which won't show up on the scale right away. Stick with it! I keep my carbs to between 40-60/day and have the situation where the scale isn't moving much, but my clothes are fitting better.

This plan isn't Atkins, so lowering your carbs to 20 isn't necessary, in my opinion.
