I just joined you gals a couple of days ago, and now I am intrigued to see little JJ when he arrives.

Eating is going well, yes I have made those pancakes and tweaked them to be sweet or savory. I had one for lunch today and I added a little cr ch, cinnamon, like a mock danish, and sf syrup and half a large sausage, made a yummy meal.

This is only my first real day on CO and my tummy is a tad queasy at times. Does this settle down? Or maybe I am having too much fat as I am using cream and butter and CO.

Thanks for any tips or suggestions.

Susan

JJ isn't here yet, but that egg is wobbling.

Sorry all I have done is post and dash, but you know how us expectant duck moms are! :lol

Oh, and buffalo is very lean, so when I cook it I use tons of butter. I just bought 50 lbs. Had steak last night

The pancakes seem to be the best recipe on there. All the other stuff is to English for me also. I think the pancakes made for buns will be very useful..

I am going to make some and take on our trip to use for buns on CB's at resturants. I am going to make a onion flavored one, and try the sweet version sometime.

Too much CO right away will make your tummy upset. It did mine anyway. Ease your way into it.

It does do that - you need to start slowly.

We sure are like a bunch of Mother Hens awaiting little JJs arrival. Love the pics.

Thank you for the advice Ladies.

Just had dinner and input into ******. Ratios are off but may balance out with what I had in the day.
Fat (46%) Carbs (9%)
Protein (45%)

Dinner was: pan-fried parmasen-crusted Tilapia in butter, with 1/2 tsp minced garlic in oil, and mashed cauliflower w butter.

I see I need to get the Fat up more to 70%, but I will do this more slowly.
Are the ratios on Barry's ebook site? Will be off to check.
Thanks again All,

SuSUN, I was already on high fat when I replaced a lot of the fat in my diet with CO. My numbers looked the same on ****** but I was substituting. I was at a full blown stall but 2 weeks on CO and I ahve lost 2 pounds without really changing anything else. Good luck. I know you'll like it but you amy have to start slow. Went to the gym yesterday. Yeah!! First time in a month so thats bad. I have got to be more consistant. Don't forget this weekend is daylight savings time. This is my favorite because i feel so much more energized when it's not dark at 5:00!! Yes, buffalo is lean but because it is grass fed and not corn fed, the ratios of Omega 3 and I think 9 are much more favorable and much lower arachadonic acid production which is responsible for inflammation. I must try the pancakes. Maybe tomorrow. They sound great and versitile. We have workers in the house as re are re-doing our master bath. Ah, the sound of hammering at 7:30 in the morning! No worries, I ahve to be at work T 11:00 am and I get off at 7:00am tomorrow morning. Great Job! Love 2-20 hour shifts a week. Can't wait to see JJ. I remember hatching baby ducks when I was young. They bond to the first thing they see and those ducks followed me around for weeks!! Good eating all!!

Cindy, what is your job? Also, in your profile you say your WOE is cycled keto diet. Is that what you're doing now? Is it like EFGT?

I need to make those pancakes too. Another beautiful day here before it all changes. I intend to make good use of it.

Morning everyone.
No JJ yet?
Love the pictures and Susan, your avatar is adorable, LOL.
MK I am so proud of you and the spinning class you keep going to, wow!
My legs ache from just walking around shopping for 3 hours yesterday, I am so out of shape.
Office work today, lots of laundry because I brought all the tableclothes home from the lodge to wash, fold and return.
Shopping and dinner out tonight with a good friend.

Hi gals and Gord:

Are we duck "aunties/uncle" yet? Anxiously awaiting JJ's birth.....What do baby ducklings eat?

Well, I'm back down to 151..Yesterday I did more protein/fat and around 18 carbs. Will try to do the same today and tomorrow to see if I can crack the "egg" of the 150's.

Back to the gym, then off to read with the kids..It's Dr. Suess Day..Lots of schools do
crazy Dr. S. stuff.

It's so nice to have new friends..Glad all you new peeps are here.....

On the Coconut Oil diet, it does recommend replacing the CO with other oils...not add to the other oils. Glad it is working for ya, Cindy.

Cya later.

Hello

Hello,

Buffy invited me to join in with you ladies. I am from Missouri and it seems as if there are a number of people from the middle part of the US posting here. Carolyn, I am from around Great Bend. We have lived in Missouri for so many years that we are Missourians now but go home to visit family several times a year.

I have been doing zc and have been having good luck with it. Still haven't given up my coffee, though. Don't know if I can and really if I keep on losing I won't give it up. I think that one of the components of zc is to find what works for your body. We have such a busy social life that I really don't want to give up anything but I think that vlc or close to zc is what is going to work for me. Seem to need that fat and good amounts of protein to really feel well. I can tell a difference in my face when I eat enough protein and fat. Much fresher and less puffy looking.

Good to meet all of you and have a really nice day.

Mary

Mary! I told Mary if she was a nice girl she could come play with us

My BIL lives in Columbia, MO and teaches at the Univ there.

I grew up in SW Iowa, maybe that is why I feel so at home with most of our peeps here.

Hi Buffy,

You are so cute. Columbia is about 30 miles from us. That is the University my husband works for. He is one of their lobbyists. We have been married for three years. What does your BIL teach?

This morning JJ poke a little hole in the egg. It is only slightly bigger, But I can see the little beak and it looks to have brown fuzz. Brown fuzz means Janets baby. Yellow fuzz would be Lana's or Chrissy's

I am taking pics as I go, but I have to go back to work.

Oh, how wonderful! JJ is making his way into the world at his own pace. I guess he will take his own good time. There's no rush to get here right?

I want to share that today was a much better day on the tummy. I took less of the CO but added it to every meal, but less of it, so tummy was much better.

I can't believe how great I feel, it's as if my brain has woken up! Is this another benefit from CO? I have more energy too and much better mood. Maybe my brain was deprived of fats?

I did eat less today too, so the CO is doing its job of keeping me full longer. I did mix it with butter, so only day 2 and loving the effects it so far!

Thank G*d I found this thread and you wonderful ladies to help me out.

Hi gang,

Brown ducklings are darling. Poor Janet..you might say she died in childbirth, huh? Rest her little soul.

Well, I went to LabCorp to get a thorough Thyroid Panel..F4, F3, and TSH. My "doctor" won't test for 3's..So, I am going to see what my total thyroid panel looks like. I paid for it myself..

Gosh..so many Missouri fans.. My dd works for the U of M, KCity, but they have their own little team..called the "Roos"..(like in kangaroo)..Welcome Mary.

For dinner I had a double cheeseburger from Sonic..no bun. It was very nommie and greasy..

Gosh...I'm sure JJ will make his/her appearance tonight, won't she/he?

Morning!
Another beautiful day here!
Hoping I can get a walk in!

Going to the Illinois Food Expo today with DD25 and some others if I can get them talked into it.

DS19 is home for spring break.

I'd take DD22 but she went to Unofficial at the U of I and will probably be really tired today!

Tired from shopping 2 days in a row but had a great time.
Meeting DD#3 today to look at 2 dresses she has picked out for her May wedding in the Dominican. which reminds me that I haven't picked out a dress yet. Better get to looking for one. I don't like me in sun dresses.

Hi gals and Gord..

Buffy: It seems like you are always having weddings in your family..Is this #3 in the last few years. I don't particularly like sundresses either..But something wonderfully flowing with a nice bright color would look nice on you..

Okay..where is our baby???????? I hope Zilla didn't have to do a C-section.

MKay: A Food Expo sounds wonderful.....

I was down to 150 today........however, I'm forever skeptical.

The percentages on the Dr. Taller book were 5 percent carb/30 percent protein/65 percent fat. He was all about fish/veggie fat instead of saturated fat. He said that
Safflower oil is the best..but I'm sure he would like coconut oil, too. He was all about not worrying about the protein..However, he said that 40 percent of protein can turn to
carbs. However, he did say it was hard to overeat on protein. But this book was written in the early '60's when peeps didn't stuff themselves as much as they did in the later years. It's an interesting book..
