Hi ladies...Yup...what a jerk Jason was to dump Melissa on tv. She should have kept the ring and pawned it and had a big party. Many peeps think that he was two-timing Melissa with Molly..

Keep us posted on the July trip..It would be fun to work it out, Buffy.

Zilla: fresh air is always good.

Night..cya tomorrow.

Morning!

DH will be in KC around July 4th, but I won't.

I usually only show up at Easter and Thanksgiving, and then it's so crammed with family stuff, it's hard to get away!

Oh, BTW, I'm back to EFGT everybody. I think ZC is just too radical for ME. If you can do it and feel good about it, great. I just can't deprive myself that much. Heck, I don't even do EFGT to a T, but I have great results with it when I work it even close to good.

I'm back up 3# of the 5.5 I'd lost and not sure why except the few wobbles off path over the weekend and ibuprofen all day yesterday. It's never made me gain before but after a whole week of ZC/VLC who knows? Even with my wobbles I was still VLC. I know a week is hardly enough time to really judge something well but I figured out it's just not for me. I did learn some things though, so not a bad voyage all in all I guess.

Morning gang. I will post the dates we will be driving through KC as I firm things up.

MK, is your husband really good looking? I could meet up with him I guess,

Ok, back to VLC today for me. Here is my experience. Well, I posted most of it, I started on the 9th at 215, got down to a one day low of 206 and then fell off with PMS. Bounced on and off until the weekend when I just threw in the towel and ate moderate to regular carbs. Now, PMS is over and I was at 211 this morning, so now, going to give it another whirl and see how it goes. Sandy, I am pretty sure, it is not going to be my woe either, but a tool that maybe I can use to slowly get to new lows. I kind of felt that from the beginning but I am glad to have that tool to try to just keep hitting new lows. I am going at VLC from 211 this time instead of 215 last time, so maybe, little by little.

Office work today, then pick up DGS 9 at school again.

I can see that Buffy. VLC I can do, ZC, not for me. I think it's a great tool. And one I already use once in awhile anyway even with EFGT so I'll just keep plugging away. Good luck to you.

Me too - I do the occasional meat/egg fast which is probably ZC or very close.

Right now I'm using ****** (groan) and it's working.
Down to 122.8 this morning!
Maybe the spinning has a little to do with it too.

Buffy - you were right - at least in clothes, my hips and thighs are looking much better!

Hi gang,

We all have to find what we can live with..I bought the book from Amazon used..Calories Don't Count. It was written in 1960ish..I can't remember the author, but it was before Dr. A...and was touting how a high fat diet with low carbs was the way to go..

Yeah, MKay..

You know maybe peeps could rotate VLC and EFGT and see what happens..

Hi Carolyn,

Just a quick question which Coconut Oil do you recommend. Not sure if I can get all the brands up here. I will try.

Thanks,

Susan

If I was going to rotate, I'd rotate ZC with EFGT b/c when I do EFGT "correctly" I feel like it already is VLC, ya know? But rotating ZC with it might be a plan. For someday.

Today I've had:
Beef ribs cooked with green chilies, with a bit of sour cream and cheddar cheese in beef broth. Weird, I know.
salami and cheese
KC Brisket, (thanks Carolyn) cole slaw made w/sugar-free homemade dressing

I didn't ******, but I think it's fine.

MK, glad you are seeing the results of your spinning class in your hips and thighs, it was amazing on my friend.
Another busy day, running here and there. Home all day tomorrow I hope, I get so much more done when I am not interrupted, I am not a good starter, and stopper and start againer, LOL.
Carolyn, that book came out before the stupid, stupid low fat craze took over our country and ruined everyones diets!
Off to chill out tonight and watch tv.

Hi Susan: I'm not a purist on the coconut oil thing, but most peeps like the virgin coconut oil. I do like the Omega brand that is cold-pressed. It doesn't have any coconut taste, which is nice.

One plan that I was on suggested that one day a week be a protein day..This might be an idea for some of us..Protein, then EFGT for the rest of the week.

Just watched After the Rose II..Oh well.........I'm glad Jason and Molly are happy..he never should have proposed to Melissa when he still had the "hots" for Molly..

Morning!

Went to spin class.
Pooped!

DS is doing better - but he has a nose bleed this morning - if it doesn't stop soon, he'll be late for school.

Today is a brow wax, lunch out, Walgreen's and the lib.
AND I have a movie that's due tomorrow!

That sounds like a good plan Carolyn. I could even do 2 protein only days. What do you think Barry would think of that? I'd have pro/fat of course. Just no carbs. Except my beloved 1/2 & 1/2, lol. I guess I could even switch to HWC for those 2 days though. I just do NOT want to do ****** or any other program where you HAVE to figure out the stats. I throw stuff together too much when I cook and it's just hard to separate it all out and then try to figure each thing separately and enter it. I've done it long enough that I think I know pretty much if it's right or not, ya know?

I hate The Bachelor & Ette now. I'm so done watching that show. It's not even a believable "fairytale come true" type show any longer for me.

Morning! Got caught up on Real housewifes of NYC last night, couldn't get to sleep so just kept watching all my taped episodes until I was finished.
All meat day for me today, or at least that is what I plan, or, I should say all protein. Going to have bacon and eggs for meal 1 and roast for meal 2.

Thank YOU Carolyn for your kind reply.
I will start checking out up here what I can find in CO. The virgin and omega cold pressed are on my list.

Sandie, I sooooo agree with you. I never could get into the counting or figure out ******, too time consuming for me to sit and input and my measurements always seemed the wrong method, gms, cups, ozs. Sheesh! I just watch my portions.

I had a 1 egg mock cinnamon danish for breakie today with more butter, after reading some of Barry's website last night.

I think I could eat this way, very similar to Atkins with more fat...yummy!

Thanks for sharing.

Little JJ is due to hatch today. The humidity spiked in the incubator last night so I had to open it. Since I had the lid off, I candled the egg and lil' JJ is still alive and kicking!!!

I am so nervous right now. My humidity issues have me seriously stressed. Sometimes it is too high, this morning it was too low. I got it fixed for now but this is MAKING ME CRAZY!!!!

Zilla....I'm very excited about the arrival of little JJ....my avi is of some chicks that my in-laws hatched a few years ago when they had a flock of chickens...gosh I miss those eggs...

I've been back strict EFGT for 2 days now and working my way towards that for a week...I was on Barry's site last night as well and went through all 14 days of his sample menus and I have both of his new books that I am working on reading...I must say that I am so happy that I have stuck this out and accepted that I failed the plan...not the other way around....I'm heading over to the accountability thread to post my menu...

My weight had gone up to 218 again and this morning I was 211.5...

I also wanted to mention that logging my foods and using ****** and such is something I just can not fit into my busy day...in reading through Barry's stuff he doesn't seem all that concerned as long as common sense are used to keep the protein down and the fat up with or without some healthy carbs...he often mentions 3 servings per day preferably only 1 of them fruit....so that is what I am doing....mentally keeping my protein around 20 to 30 per meal with lots of fat.....it is working and I think that less stress as far as logging goes is also helping the weight loss...I really enjoy eating this way...

One more thing....I found a recipe for what he calls almond and parmesan pancakes....I had one for supper last night and it was very tasty....very basic too which I like...

1 T grated parmesan
1 T ground almond
1 whole egg
lard or butter for frying

Mix the first 3 ingredients and cook in the lard or butter in a frying pan....flip and enjoy as bread or with fruit and cream...whatever you like....quite yummy and fast

Ok....thats it...I know I rarely post and when I do it's an essay...
