Leisa: Great loss for the month..
Boy, it does feel good to clean out drawers..(note to self: do it). Exercised this afternoon (after luncheon) and will go at 6:30 before the floor guys come. I'll think of Mary Kay spinning her little legs off.. Leftover ham for dinner..I'm microwaving some turnips whole, then taking out the insides and mashing them..Of course, I have to pierce the dickens out of them. |

Huh, I just posted here and it never showed up! Oh well, here goes again. Anyway, I just read the T or T thread (I had already posted on it) and Barry addressed my question!! It was about Fish oil supplementation (he prefers eating fish as opposed to supplements) as I couldn't quite figure out from NHWL what his stance was.
Had 2 pumpkin shakes today with casein protein and boy, am I full! Casein is so much better than whey. I'm in love. All right, here is the down and dirty: Start 125lbs, end 124lbs. I'll take it!! |

Jem, yes, I am a CRNA at a big trauma center here in KC.
I am SSOOO much fuller for a much longer time with the casein pp than I ever was with whey. Calories, carbs and protein is about the same as whey but whey is assimilated in about 4 hours but casein takes abot 12 hours. It is not good post work out to rebuild muscle because it is so slow but I'm not a body builder so it doesn't matter. I read on a body building website about how body buiders went big time LC just prior to an event and they liked casein protein rather than whey because whey is the most glucogenic (most likely to become glucose) and casein was the least so i went with the casein. Boy, am I glad. It has revolutionized my protein shakes. I've had 2 pumpkin shakes today and I'm still in light ketosis whereas whey would kick me out. My whey is getting the boot. I'm in love with the casein. Also, it makes a really thick shake. I buy the vanilla and it is sweetened with Splenda. |
