Introducing myself!

Just saying hi...Im new and I am trying to follow an EFGT WOE. I have done Atkins in the past with a limited amount of success. So after reading one of
Mr.Groves books I am really liking this approach...it seams like a plan that I could stick to. I dont hold any illusions that I will ever be a "normal" size as I have too many things working against me (PCOS, thyroid and psychological/emotional issues) but I need to manage my blood sugars better and I think this may be the best way.
Anyway, glad this group is here...I probably wont post much(too busy) but know that I am reading when I can and am inspired by all of you.have been

I was wondering how successful any of you have been in controlling your blood sugars and/or losing weight?

Welcome!! As far as how successful we have been - can't speak for everyone - but, I'm a work in progress!! Don't have glucose numbers or insulin levels to report, but I can tell that this is in control for me as my cravings have gone away. However, I'm doing VLC for now, and did have a few cravings still doing EFGT, although they were greatly reduced compared to eating a "normal" diet.

Well I can say for myself that eating Low-Carb has allowed me to lose the 71 pounds and the great thig is is that I never get hungry which is a huge thing for me. I have also been exercising so that does help as well. I have decided not to put up another pic until I reach goal(this is me at 226 pounds). Whichever way of eating you are following I am sure will do wonders as long as you stay commited and this site will help you do that.
Again, WELCOME!!!

I have a question about EFGT. Is there a way to translate the ammount of fat/carbs and protein
in to portion size. I am more of an oz , cup, tablespoon kind of gal.

Its hard to me to follow this plan using grams.
Is there anyone who can show me a sample day menu example

breakfast
protein 4-5 oz
carbs(and what kinds ) size
fat how much

Does this make sense. I think this plan is interesting. But my ADD is making it hard
to get the serving sizes.

Also, Wii and Robin, check out the coconut oil threads. It helps tremendously when you consume the right fat. I was stalling on olive oil and have started to lose on coconut oil. It's metabolized differantly and gives you much more energy.
