Morning everyone! I woke up at 5:30 and could not get back to sleep, not like me at all.
Carolyn, have fun in Bartlesville! Oldest DD likes C J Banks too. Your friend is probably fun but hey, Gary went to Austria? Hmm, that would have been a hard choice to choose between if you had the opportunity to go with Gary.

Well, my friends, I saw a new low of 206.2 this AM. If I had slept a little longer like I usually do it probably would have been just 206, you think? LOL. I am so pumped about being able to lose, I'm sorry if I keep yapping about it. I really feel good too, so today starts my 3rd week of VLC, I might as well call it ZC though, I have coffee in the morning and I am down to 1 drop of splenda in the first big mug, then no more as I warm the coffee. I had wine one time last week and rum/diet coke 1 time last week so most days I am ZC. I just hope this doesn't mess me up to where when I do add back some LC veggies that it makes me gain. I am hoping that I can lose, then add them back and maintain at lowcarb. Time will tell but for now it feels so good to be going lower on the scale.

Went to spin class again.
It's cold out there!
DS16 is trying school today - now I have to remember to pick him up - he wanted to drive, but I didn't think it was safe!

Buffy - you can talk about it all you want!
it's so fun to watch the numbers go down!!!

Carolyn - have fun today!

MK, are you starting to see some inches lost with the spin class? If not, you will before long. when my friend did it, her thighs just melted away it seemed.

Hey Buffy, you're doing great! I'm hoping I can get back on track this week. I'm still at 149 even after vacation and this last week of poor eating but I know that's going to creep up if I don't do something NOW. I'm just trying to decide what I want to do? LC is so easy I'm sure I'll do some form of that and I just might try the VLC or ZC for a week. I have to have my cream in my coffee though.

Buffy - I KNEW I should have measured before I started, but I didn't!
I have some old Atkins measurements I could use.
I FEEL thinner, and I think my pants are looser, but

I'd love to lose the inner thigh area!

Sandy - I don't blame you!
There are always some things I just won't give up no matter what!

Sandy, if you go over and read through that thread I keep referring people to, ZC buddies unite, you will see that some people don't give up the cream in their coffee. That thread is what we decided to create for those of us who were just trying it out, and it is for VLC/VVLC/ZC people who want to give it a try, or for those who have been doing it awhile to have a place to join in and help out the new ones. As a general rule, I think people there are just trying to stay at least under 10 carbs per day, so as long as you don't drink a pint of cream a day, LOL, you are good to go. It might just get you jumpstarted back on track.

MK, yes, I think you will see a good difference in your thighs. If you didn't measure, go by your pants and jeans. My legs are thinner since going LC in general, I tried on some capris the other day that fit in the hips and waist like they used to, but the used to be tight in the thighs, loose now.

Thanks LE! I am feeling fantastic!

Hi..

Woww....thinner thighs for Mary Kay.. It only makes sense...I think the fat just spins right off of them, doesn't it? Good for you, girl.

Buffy: Wowowow...you are doing so well.

Sandy, if you start the VLC way of eating, you will drop like a rock..No kidding..You have a good metabolism.

Hi LE and Gord and Zilla and anyone who I forgot.

Had fun in B'ville...I did break down and buy some new pants at Christopher and Banks on sale..But, at least I will have something to wear until I lose this thigh weight..I should start spinning, too. I have an exercise bike...I could do just spin as fast as I can go..

Women Tell All tonight..I'll still watch it..........

Carolyn - clock yourself for 30 seconds and try to have your cadence (or the number of rotations with one leg) be 25. If it's too fast or slow then find a nice number that makes you cycle quickly but not too quickly. Confused?

The hard part will be increasing the tension on the pedals without having straps for your feet. I love those. Then you're pushing and pulling the pedals all at the same time and your feet never fall off!

I hope it's doing something for my thighs!

All this talk of spinning makes my knees hurt! I really have to protect my knees especially the one I've had surgery on. I don't want to do that again! But it's great exercise if you can do it.

I really need to get back to the gym but my shoulders and neck have been killing me since the stomach flu. My chiro said the virus settled in my muscles and could last a week or two. It's been 1 now so hopefully it'll be over soon. I have a massage Thurs. if I can wait that long.

I've done VLC today and so far so good. We have a church mission this week and they always have treats after but I'm hoping DH will want to pass on those. Ha!! We'll see about that I guess.

Hi all,

Still trying to get Janet healthy, but she doesn't appear to be making progress. It wasn't my intention to learn how to process a duck at this point, but if she can't be with the flock because of her leg (the other ducks will attack her), I think it might be the kindest thing. Since she doesn't appear to be in pain, we will wait until the weekend and see if anything changes.

My weight is ALL OVER the place the last couple of months. It appears to be completely hormonal. My calories are actually down...it got a little of that stomach bug - not enough to get sick, just enough to make my tummy feel bloated. Tom is showing up at odd times, I am moodier than usual (poor hubby), so yeah....stupid hormones.

Sandy, if you continue to do VLC all of this week, I'll bet by the weekend your appetite and cravings will have dimished enough to pass the treats by. Good luck!

Yep, that's what I'm hoping for Buffy. But I passed the cookies up tonight at church even tho DH did go get one. I've only had 1/2 & 1/2, eggs, butter, cheese brats and roast beef today. The brats weren't the best choice but all I really had on hand for lunch.

I know I'm holding extra fluids too so I'll lose that pretty quickly too. Then hopefully the extra fat will start to melt away, lol.

Zilla, did I miss that Janet's leg was injured, or did my memory fail me once again? Hope you can nurse her back to health.

Hormonal changes really play havoc with our bodies and any attempt to lose weight, plus just changes in body shape. Why do women have to endure that after they have been through all the other we need to do to have babies, I will never understand. Why can't the switch just shut off? KWIM?

We saw her limping last week, and then that night when Ed went to put them in the pen, she couldn't even get up. Leg injuries are an issue for domestic ducks, and can be brought on by vitamin b deficiency OR uhhhhh....vigorous mating activity.

Since their diet is pretty varied, we think it was a mating thing. :P

She has been in storage tub away from the flock with daily "spa treatments" in the bath tub. She can stand up now, but she still can't walk. She just pitches forward and falls on her little face! We are going to see if their is any improvement by this weekend. We are putting brewer's yeast in her food and vitamins in her water just in case.

She is the smallest of the three girls and she is Jack's favorite, so, yeah....Romeo needs to tone it down! LOL

Do ducks see a vet? Maybe they could fix her leg. Danged Jack!! He's probably a teenager about now, isn't he?

Today is my Bailey's birthday. 5 years old already. It sure doesn't seem possible.

I dropped a couple pounds overnight from the VLC. Thanks Buffy. I've done VLC before, just not lately and it'll be a good jumpstart for me I hope.

Morning everyone!
WTG Sandy! Yes, VLC is good for a kickstart for sure. I was down from 206.2 to 206 this morning, I know that this quick weight loss is going to stop and I have to be strong to handle that, I much prefer getting on the scales to a loss daily
Is Bailey your granddaughter? 5 is such an adorable age.

Friday I am having lunch with a friend I used to work with, I suggested TX Roadhouse, she came back with McAlisters Deli, I told her I don't do bread, LOL, so I think TX Roadh it is. Delis can work for a diabetic but you are surrounded by those great breads, etc. that you really shouldn't have. Then I am going to pick up DGS 9 from school. He loves it when I do that, then we go to his house and play basketball, or something fun until Mom or Dad get home. Oh, and do his homework but I don't think he has any on Fridays!

Have to install a new router today, it came yesterday. They say it is easy to install, I sure hope so, I don't want to spend a lot of time messing with trying to get some computer stuff to work.

He doesn't want to use crutches anymore, but when he gets home from school his ankle is so swollen!
It's really purple too.

She probably would be, but his season is basically over!
He had times to get to Regional, but not Sectional because he didn't go to Regional because of his ankle . . . Did that make sense?!

They only have a couple more weeks of swimming before they take a month off and then practice for summer (long-course) season starts.

We're going to our doc tomorrow. She's very conservative, so if she thinks the orthopedic needs to see it, she'll send him right over.

As I always told my kids, do as I say, not as I do. I gave into a binge tonight. It has been 9 days since my last one, before that it was 7 days so I am hoping that means a little progress. The first few months after finding out about the diabetes, I guess it put the fear of God in me for I didn't binge, but, I found out when I finally did that I could do it and my blood sugar didn't get out of hand. That is both good and bad, good that it isn't life threatening but bad b/c it still takes over my mind at times. Boy, that is such a lifelong ED that I battle, but I find I am not alone, there are many of us.
I wll be back on the wagon tomorrow, I promise you! There I said it, now come get me if I am not on here in the morning posting away and eating VLC.
