Good morning..
I'm dying my hair as we speak..Then to the chiro, exercise, etc...zero dark thirty is way too early for me. But, I imagine it gets your blood going. There is lots to do around here for sure..My friend Barb is coming on Thursday from NH and staying 2 weeks. She is a Type II on insulin, so we "eat" the same..She does eat grains, though......I don't say much.. Tribal nudity is not that appealling, KWIM? LOLOL..It was funny last night because Ollie and Mark always travel together..However, they are "straight". The chief of the tribe thought they were homosexual because they didn't bring any of their women with them. Anyway, he told them if he saw them "doing anything" he had some chili peppers that would deal with them..TMI..

Hmmm, there is a scene in Slumdog Millionaire which would explain the chili pepper reference....enough said
sometimes I watch Mark and Ollie too, it is interesting once I try to get past the little, err, hats??? the men wear. ![]() Last night I watched the 2nd half of The Last Templar with Mira Sorvino, I had taped the first half, watched it only to find out it was continued. Then scrambled to find the 2nd half which I could tape, the whole thing was actually on last night. Kind of Indiana Jones type of thing. Took DGS to Pink Panther yesterday, he loved it, that's all that matters. For breakfast, he had 3 scrambled eggs with cheese, and 3 slices of toast, one has to have peanut butter on it, one has to have jelly on it and one has to have cinnamon/sugar on it. He "orders" this breakfast every time he comes to Mema's house and of course I make it for him . He had that late morning, then we went to the movies and he had the childs movie meal? of popcorn, candy and soda. Growing boy! Home today to do laundry and work in the office and more Access classes to do.

I posted this on the new thread some of us have started, for us doing the VLC but will share it with my friends here.
I binged last night. I got a little too hungry before I ate, and had the influence of my dear friend, Mr. Rum, who got together with my other buddy, diet coke, and THEY talked me into have a carbfest!!! But, this morning, I am right back on track. I have been bingeing since I was about 9 years old. I "think" it goes back to when I had to go live with my very strict, cold, rigid grandparents. They had rules, rules, rules and although we had enough to eat, for the first time in my short life, food had all these rules associated with it. When we could eat, how much we could eat and what we could eat. Sweets in particular were very restricted. They actually kept a bowl of candy bars sitting on a shelf in the dining room but now that we lived with them, we were not allowed to have any. They were saved for our cousins for when they came to visit. So, that is when I begin to hide sweets in my room and would binge on them when I had the chance. This went on and has continued the rest of my life. I have analysed it to death, it really is pretty simple to understand. The only thing that has helped or slowed it down is low carb. So, last night, the boredom set in from eating only meat all week and the weakness of willpower my friends Mr. Rum and diet coke, set me off. But, I am just glad that it is over this morning, sometimes my binges for on for days. Well, enough about one of Buffy's dirty little secrets ![]() ![]() |

Buffy - I am a flylady!
You should join us! DH is now putting the dishes away! ![]() Alcohol can do that to me too. Miss Wine is my downfall lately! When it was Mr Rum, I liked Malibu with that wonderful coconutty taste! Carolyn - We could go to the movie together and only watch parts of it! |

Hi..
Yup, we could hide our faces together, MKay.. Hi LE: you are so right about our childhoods..My mother used to give us big portions of food and we ate it..No one was really obese, but 3 of the 4 of us have to watch our weight. Yup, Buffy...I have a bad problem if I wait too long to eat..Bad problem. Especially when I am fixing dinner and starving..I pre-eat and then eat and then post-eat sometimes. And, SF gum doesn't help..LOLOLOL.. At least we are aware of it...Admitting we have a problem is half the battle.. |

Morning!
I've been spontaneously kicked off line twice - so I'll type fast! I have to take my mom to the doc this morning, have a lunch meeting and a dinner/movie combo with my PEO group. Errands include Walgreen's, grocery store, post office, library, bank . . . . It'll be a busy but fun day! I've gained some weight this week - you'd think more exercise would make me lose . . . . anyway . . . . I'm trying to think one meal at a time and just make good choices. Fingers crossed. |

Morning.
MK, it is that spin class, you are spinning so much you are being spun offline, not kicked offline ![]() If I get to where I have to give up my cleaning lady, I will probably look into the flylady routine, I know it really works well. As long as I am still working part time, I want to try to keep her, heck, I want to try to keep her forever, but may get to the point where we need that money elsewhere. I only have her every other week but with just the 3 of us, DH, me and Tinker, it keeps it decent with me keeping things neat in the meantime. Yesterday I totally got back on track, so glad it didn't cause me to go into one of my longer binges. The people who do ZC says that if you don't cave for a minimum of 30 days, then you will seldom binge after that. I will see how it goes, again, I am not really thinking of going ZC, but VLC does seem to work well for me, at least so far. Day at a time. Flylady reminds me, 2 of my DD's have joined the grocery shopper/coupon game, or it is called something like that. It tells you where to shop in your area, you can print out the coupons and it shows you where to get the best deals. They are having some good savings with it. With just the 2 of us, and doing VLC, I just don't buy enough "stuff" anymore to make it work for me, but when all the kids were home, I was a coupon shopper for sure. |

The wind last night was HORRIBLE. It blew the roof off our duck pen. The ducks were hiding in the hutch, so they are fine. Sheesh! It is going to be a pain to fix, but at least it didn't blow over to the neighbors house!

Hi everybody,
I just wanted to pop by and say I'm home. We got back Sat. evening and then Sun. evening I was knocked on my butt by a nasty tummy flu. I was in bed all day yesterday and am still just laying around today. I feel better today but still a bit puny. The good news is I only gained 1.5 pounds in my 14 day trip and after the flu I've definitely lost that, lol. I'd sure choose another weight loss method though. I was sicker than I've ever been! I'm glad it didn't last any longer. I really think I might've gone to the hospital if it had.

Morning!
Yesterday was so long! Mom is about the same, but the neurologist is a fool! Maybe he's a good surgeon, but he needs serious help with patient care. So, I'll spend part of today straightening him out. I have a pile of stuff that needs to be done for my mom and then our stuff - feeling overwhelmed! I did spin this morning so that helped. Besides walking the dog, I'm not leaving the house today - I need to get some things accomplished. He's Not That into You was cute!! We had a good time last night!! Sandy - welcome home!! Sorry about the flu. ![]() Buffy - I need to try VLC too - or at least do the 3 day meat/egg fast. Zilla - Yikes! Poor ducks!! Are they still laying today or was that too traumatizing?

Morning everyone.
![]() MK. I hate that overwhelmed feeling and I know exactly what you are talking about, I get that when things really pile up on me and another thing I have realied through the years is that if things pile up AND it happens to be that time of our cycle, then it is hugely overwhelming. I see that in my girls too. Take a deep breath, tackle things one at a time. Surgeons are kind of known not to have very good bedside manners it seems.I am not encouraging anyone to try or not try VLC and to be honest, although I am posting over on the ZC forum, I don't see that as a long term lifestyle for me, or at least I truly hope it wouldn't have to be. The ones who do it seem to love it and the health benefits they get from it seem to be worth it to them, but I am certainly not at that point. I am only doing this to try to get my weight down some more and BP down more, which of course the weight loss will help. I would like to get the weight off and then be able to maintain with a moderate LC diet, or even do VLC and lose 10 lbs, maintain for a period of time, then do it again, etc. But for now, just experimenting. It is good to get some weight off quickly though, I will say that. I got down to 207 but this week am bouncing back and forth between that and 209, so I think my body is adjusting. Then maybe it will let me work a little lower. |

Oh Carolyn, I don't watch The Batchelor, my new fave shows are those housewife ones, just finished the season with the Housewives of OC, now on to the ones in NY. Crazy to watch but I love seeing their clothes, etc. When I was a housewife in Iowa I didn't look like that for some reason

Sunny, come on over to a thread a bunch of us are on who are doing this. You will get more ideas there but really, it is pretty boring, meat and fats, not much menu to it. Yesterday I had hamburgers with a little mayo & mustard for lunch. Last night, the same thing. Today, I had bacon and eggs for lunch and tonight I am going out for dinner and will have just a steak. I am having DH pick up some ribs at our favorite smokehouse to have tomorrow.

I am just 10 days into this, so no expert by any means! I ate eggs twice last week and once so far this week. I eat plenty of butter but have only eaten mayo once.
This is just an experiment Zilla, if I can or could get to losing while staying on moderate carbs, I much prefer that but I just kept having trouble when I would get down to about 210, then I would give in to the carbs and over do it. I really need to get some more weight off for both my blood pressure and diabetes. I am on 3 BP meds and would love to get it down to even just one. I don't mind the metformin I take for diabetes b/c I am certain it has helped me to lose what I have since last June, but I need to lose and get control over this giving into the carbs. Each time I do it and my blood sugar doesn't go out of control, then it makes it that much easier for me to do the next time, and the next time, and well, you know. So far this week I am not losing but I have lost more inches. But, if you read back, I went on a carb binge on Sunday night and I am still paying the piper for that I think. Mr. Rum and diet coke had their way with me, then took me to a carb buffet and Mr. Piper charged me 2 lbs for the night of being a wench! ![]() ![]() |

Hi guys,
I spent the whole day with my dad and just got home. I'm pooped out! But had a very nice day. I'm a Bachelor fan, but that may change if the rumors are true about this season's finale, grrrr. And Buffy, I'm a big Housewives fan too but usually too embarassed to admit it, lol. It's like watching a train wreck, you just can't look away, lol. Housewives aren't like that in KS either. At least none I know. |

Hi guys...
Sandy and I are reeling at the news of the Bachelor from Reality Steve's you tubes.. Anyway, I'm still at 150..Now Barb is coming tomorrow night..and we "eat" out alot..so I will have to be extra, extra good and watch the portions..She likes to visit junk shops, so we will drive around looking for junk...(little junk). Gosh...Kansas Housewives are not like that..at least they don't dress like that. Guess what? I got the mail today and got a letter from ds Brett at KState.........I nearly fell over.. Well, the professor was giving extra credit to those students who would write a letter to someone..This is a Measurements class. I guess the professor marks hard on the homework and he wanted to give the guys a break. It was a very nice letter..Gary will probably fall over, too... VLCers..I will be interested in seeing how you all do on the plan.. |
