Carolyn - I'm glad the appointment went well. You're not older, why would you need more meds?

Sandy - I'm so jealous!!! Send some warm winds this way!!

Lise - you're right - it's a new day!

Buffy - I love that bread too. I think I still have some in the freezer . . .

Buffy: I remember we "talked" about your doctor when we met and the experimental stuff.
It seems what really helped you was being put on diabetic meds, right?

MKay: I know...about the age..LOLO..This doctor wasn't in the greatest of shapes for her age. I am always leery of those "out of shape" doctors and talking about weight loss

Did you all see Zilla's new smoothie???

Wifezilla's Very Berry Coconutty Smoothie
1 can unsweetened coconut milk
6 large frozen strawberries
6 ice cubes
2 Tbsp Da Vinci Raspberry Syrup*
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
Optional: Scoop of whey protein

Place all ingredients in to a blender and liquify. Pour in to an insulated mug and enjoy.

The entire pitcher contains approximately 16 grams of carbs...closer to 19 if you add the protein powder. While this recipe is not for those on Atkins induction, it is just fine for maintenance or Barry Groves fans. (His plan allows up to 60g of carbs per day.)

* If not available, use whatever sugar replacer you prefer. 2 packets of Splenda and 2 packets of Equal works well.

I'm so excited!!!!

Right Carolyn, as far as weight loss, getting the blood sugar down and stable, was a biggie and the metformin helped me do that and keep it down.
The Dr. I told you about when we first met helped me in so many other ways though, she helped me learn more to read my own body signals and she also was the one who got me on bio-identical hormones, which I sorely needed at that time. I weaned myself off of those as I got older and no longer needed them but a life-saver at the time. Unfortunately, she passed away several years ago of heart failure.
Hmm, MK, that sounds so good!

Tuscan Girl - Being small sounds like a good problem to have!!! It takes about 10-15 pounds for me to change sizes. Oh well - I don't go through clothes that quickly!!! Silver lining in everything - right?

I guess the 1/2 pound (after popcorn) would be major damage for you!

Buffy: That doctor was very creative and innovative, wasn't she? Gosh, too bad she died..

LE: Yes, our little MaryKay really has to watch it. I think she is our shortest Barry girl..
I do think Zilla is our tallest..except for Gord..

Yes, who is our tallest??? I'm 5 3"..Anyone else? We can make a chart..

Yes, MKay..you are "the little one" amongst us...

I am very anxious to see if my new amount of Synthroid..112 versus the old 100 will make a difference in weight loss, nails, etc. Hopefully, it will kick start my metabolism a bit.

Not much going on here..Did some exercising, read with a 5th grader, got my hair cut/eyebrows waxed..

I wonder how wonderful Mexico is.............

They are fun and oh so cute. Very well behaved too but with 3, it is busy, busy, busy. They will be 3 soon.
Oopsies sound good, I think I will make some soon, I really do enjoy them with things like tuna salad. And, they are easy to make, just have to get to it. Do they freeze well? If I am going to the mess, I would like to make extra for the freezer.

Yeah, and so is Florida - but, the news this morning was all about trying to keep the strawberries from freezing. It got below freezing so they had the water sprinklers going full blast on the strawberries, and said that actually helps protect them as it forms a type of "blanket" around them. I had some of those strawberries this past weekend and they were awesome!!! I sure hope they survive!!!

Hi friends,

It is supposed to get to 65 today. My furnace guy is supposed to come and drain the
system to find the link and run the airconditioner...........Should be interesting.

LE: Oh no...we all love those strawberries in Florida. Hopefully, they will be okay. Sorry you are getting "our" weather.

We are planning a trip to AZ part of Spring Break. My brother lives in Superior, so we will all (ds, dd and her dh and us) go. We will rent a van in AZ and take my brother with us to Payson and Sedona.

Some peeps freeze oopsies, but I just keep them in a bag in the fridge.

Morning!

Busy day today!
I need to get to the grocery store, the library, the Post Office, get my brows waxed, pick up my class stuff at Junior Achievement . . . . then DS16 has a haircut after school.

Then we're going to Indy for DS16 to swim this weekend.
Did I mention I'd be gone all weekend?
We leave tonight and will be back on Sunday evening.

Morning!
Got 2 classes done yesterday and have 1 to go, plus a new one comes online today. So, tomorrow hope to get those 2 done.
Today I am doing to DD#2 to see her and DGS 7 months, plus we have a couple of stores to go to by her house.
Fixing a beef barley soup in the slow cooker before I go, it is a recipe I found in the newspaper the other day, not termed LC but with the ingreds it really is. Looked good, wish me luck!
Have fun in Indy MK.
Carolyn, my brother taked about Payson when he lived in AZ, I don't think I have been to those places though. I really like AZ but not during the summer of course. I have a sister and BIL in Goodyear we are wanting to get out to see.
Is it getting any warmer in Georgia and Canada?
