cutting out AS all together??

Has anyone here cut out AS all together? I am really leaning towards this as I believe I have become so dependent on Splenda lately. I LOVE my eggcreams though with a little Divinci syrup and I was wondering if anyone had any recipes of eggcreams that do not require any AS?

Thanks!

switch to stevia or erythritol or a combination of the two. erythritol tastes like sugar but not quite as sweet.

I haven't had AS in quite a long time! I don't do egg creams nor Davinci syrups.

It's not easy but I think it will get better, I have been AS free since 1/23/09 I have an entire wine rack with Davinci Syrups. I want to detox from them for a while, the eggcreams, the coffee, etc has been on over load. I must say I do feel better, and I know the longer I remain off of them I am sure the benefits will totally outway the taste that I think I am missing.

I am not on EFGT (but I am looking into it) but I gave up all artificial sweeteners long ago. Well over a year now and I do feel much better physically and mentally for doing so.

I cut out all AS for about 3 months last year, (detox health & diet kick.) Didn't notice any effects of quitting, nor any when I slowly returned to them.

Have been off them for a month now, can't attribute anything to the change.

Now, I wasn't treating myself to a lot of AS desserts, or any, really. However I had it every day in my coffee, and my BELOVED Fresca. Not drinking the Fresca anymore, but I do once in a while use the stevia packets that are now in the supermarket. (Not cheap!) When I tried the stevia powder from the HF store, (also not cheap,) I had trouble getting it to dissolve in a liquid.

I try to mix up my AS such as not all Splenda, eyrthritol or all stevia but a blend. I have cut way back but won't eliminate. That didn't answer your question. All of my egg creams have AS. Try to use just a hint of stevia. And only use liquid Splenda, no carbs from the carrier.

I love eyrhitol and small bit of stevia or Splenda mixed together. I can't live without my diet snapples and occasional diet coke, though.

Cindy is right about blending.

If you blend the sweeteners they taste like more than the volume there so you can use less. I have a blend that uses a half cup splenda, and two T each of Xyl and E! . It's not a full cup, but it sweetens like a full cup of sugar. So I use less than if I use a full cup of splenda or Xyl or E all of which fall short in flavor, and get weird if too much is used.

When someone says they want to get rid of all AS, I assume they mean all sweeteneres that purposely sweeten more or less than regular sugar. so that would include eliminating stevia and xylitol too. You could just use sugar, honey, agave and molassus, and not use any substitutes at all natural or otherwise. Or just eat only sweet fruits and veggies.

My diet snapple taste better, way better actually. But now it says that it has 1 carb per 8 ounces?
Strange to me. And like 5 calories, it is worth it though, I can't really tell it's diet anymore.
But still afraid about truvia and I guess I have to test myself out with sweetners now.
I don't remember equal or splenda affecting me, and truvia is supposed to be better.
But , I guess I will see!
