Hi ladies.
Just made chicken and noodles for my "sick" friend. Then I made some chicken soup in the crockpot for Gary and I. I put a bunch of frozen whole green beans in the soup, so I am hoping we get the "noodle" feeling when they cook up. Yes, it is very cold here and spitting snow..9 degrees...Of course, it is nothing like where Gord is..nothing.. Shon: Ulcers do keep you legal..unfortunately. Sandy: I'll find the carrot cake recipe for ya when I come back this afternoon. I have made 2 versions..One with white beans and the other one with almond flour..I'll post it here. Hey, I was down to 149 this morning.........................Must have been all that chicken I had yesterday and practically no carbs. I am going to play with that calculator..It seemed if you had a higher amount of carbs entered in, then your protein level and fat level would go down..Maybe I can discover the secret..

We had a big scare with Dad today. He passed out during his PT and had a mild seizure! I was the only one of the family there with him and it scared me to death! I'm thinking he probably won't get transferred to the rehab facility tomorrow npw. They moved him to the cardiac floor and are checking him over good.

Oh Sandy!!! I hope he's OK!
Carolyn - Kroger has their rotisserie chickens on sale again - I know it's not the best way, but it worked last time, so I think I'll try it again! |

Morning everyone.
Tinker prefers "naked" mice Carolyn, so don't be dressing his.... ![]() Sandy, hope things check out good for Dad. Wow, you guys are really having it cold, we are cold for us, but nothing compared to the rest of the country. Wow, wasn't that an awesome outcome to the plane going down in the Hudson ![]() ![]() ![]() Had fun at the meeting last night, didn't get home until after 10 and hadn't eaten since 11 yesterday morning. Had some leftover zoodles, alfredo sauce and some Fage. Office work today, might not go out at all, or, might go out to eat tonight. Stay warm everyone.

Hi Barry peeps,
I have been down to 149 for 2 days..I think my chicken wing fest really helped.. Alex likes naked mice, too..I'm working on the "skirt" today. This mouse will be cuter all dressed up. Wow, it's 21 now..The sun is out, but it is still bitter, but no wind. Poor Gary has a cold..Good grief..But I do think it is sinus, and I told him to go to the drugstore and sign his life away for Sudafed..Have you guys had to do that? Show your license, etc.. when buying Sudafed. They think we are making meth.. Lots of chicken soup left............So, that's what's for dinner.. |

DH is sick too, he has head congestion, ears are plugged and lots of stomach upset, which I am pretty sure is caused by the Cipro they put him on, but he doesn't understand that. He is constantly on the go and has been in the house a lot this week, which tells me he really feels bad.
We have to take his old truck to a guy who is going to sell it for us, so I will be going out later today after all. Had 1 slice of EZ toast with PB and Fage for b/fast, will test to see how my BS reacts today to only one slice. I hope I get to wanting bacon and eggs again soon, that really is better for weight loss but right now, they just don't sound good. I put a roast in for dinner. |

![]() Carolyn - yep - you sign away your first born son here too. Like I'd want to mess up my kitchen making meth! ![]() I bought another Butter Garlic Rotisserrie Chicken. I ate the legs for lunch, but the rest of it will go into the soup. How much water should I use? Buffy - get out the Sudafed for him too! What is EZ toast? |

MaryKay: Pick off most of the meat, then put your chicken bones in a pot..Fill it up with water..up to the top of the bones. Put in some onion, celery and cook. Now, if I start with a rotisserie one, I do have to put in some chicken soup base or bouillon or chicken broth from a can. It's hard to get lots of chickeny flavor out of a rotisserie only..
I had a McDouble for lunch today..No bun..I gave it to the neighborhood dog. But, I ordered an iced coffee and they put iced tea in it instead. They have done this before at my McDonalds place.. ..It's kinda gross with cream in it.I mailed a letter to a second or third cousin in Greeley, CO to tell them of the book about Stephen Hall.. They are kinda cousins to him, and I thought they would want to know. My folks were never that good about keeping track of my dad's cousins..I discovered this gal's name after finding her dad's obituary on-line. Call me Sherlock Holmes..LOLOL.. |

Well, Dad is doing great and it looks like they're discharging him to the rehab facility this evening. I didn't go out this a.m. b/c we got bad weather and everybody told me the roads were really bad so I'm waiting on my DH and then we'll go see him....wherever he is by then. He thinks they'll transport him, I thought we had to so ???? I guess we'll see. My brother is supposed to go there this afternoon and he'll find out. He took another long walk with no bad effects so I guess that was just an isolated incident. The cardiac doc said his heart is very strong and healthy so that's good news. So he's just ready to get his knee well and he'll be good to go!
Stuck in this house all day all I've wanted to do is EAT!! I've made good choices but I know I'm eating way too many calories for the day. And tomorrow is the birthday party for DD's 40th. It's a Blues crawl, but I'll be walking lolol. And we'll probably only go to the first stop. Then it'll be time for us oldies to come home and go night night, lol.

Sandy: Is the rehab center very far from the hospital? I am sure they will transport him, as they should. However, when I did this for Betty, I had to sign her into the center.
Glad his heart is okay.. Staying home is so tempting.. |

Right..I do think this is a great idea, Sandy. He will make some new friends being there
for a week or so. Then they can really give him the rehab he needs for that new knee. |

I sure hope so Carolyn. After visiting, I'm a little nervous about him being there. I'm glad it's for just a short time. I'll try to reserve judgment until after tomorrow at least. It's pretty depressing for sure.

I wanted to sleep in, but I woke up at 6 sneezing. My allergies always kick up when I forget to take my fish oil. I guess I need a pill-minder!!!
Coupon alert! There was a coupon for a blood glucose monitor in last Sunday's newspaper. Save up to $20. I checked at Walmart last night and they had them....for $18.82. So, yes, I got a free monitor. Test strips are not included, but there is a coupon for those also. $5 off. I think the pack of strips was only $7 and some change. Since I don't HAVE to test, this is a great deal. I can just use it to check my reactions to certain foods like yogurt, diet soda, and all those iffy things people wonder about on a low carb diet.

Hi guys..
Off to the faux Curves in a minute..Wanted to check in. I think I was 148 this morning..but I don't want to claim it until it is here for the week.. Zilla: I, too have a glucose meter that I use from time to time. It is a great indication of what is going on in your body. You know when I eat lowcarb with no grains, the meter shows around 85 in the morning..Otherwise, sometimes I am closer to 100 or a bit over. Exercising does make an impact on this too. Gosh, Sandy..Is this "rehab" like a nursing home? Some peeps are really in bad shape at rehabs. And, it is scarey to see, I think. But your dad will be at the top of his class for sure. And, it is much easier for him to "rehab" in a facility than for one of you to bring him back and forth to an out-patient facility. It will only be a short time.. |

Yes Carolyn, the top floor is a NH but the bottom level is rehab. And yes, some of the patients I saw were in bad shape. I guess I thought it would be all ortho patients rehab. I'm very glad it's only for a short time.

I totally understand what you are saying..totally. It is rather shocking when you see so many peeps that need so much rehab..so sad, huh? Your dad is one of the lucky ones, huh?
Heading out to Bartlesville for lunch and to look for the book about my uncle. Need to knit some underwear for my mouse. It shouldn't take long. We watched Good Will Hunting last night. We had never seen it..Great movie, huh? |

Just a quick drive by, DGS is here visiting. Got up early, went to his basketball game, brought him home, then we went to see Mall Cop, cute and funny, we both enjoyed it. Then home and have been making more of the Chewy Honey Nut cookies this afternoon, so I can have a stash in the freezer. Then dinner, whew, I am ready to call it a day.
BB tomorrow or whenever I get a chance. |

Morning!
DD25 and I had fun yesterday. We shopped for clothes and "stuff". I found some items to send to a friend who is redecorating her kitchen in a coffee motif. So I'll have to get those in the mail soon. Is the post office open on Monday? I need to finish my bathroom cleaning today and possibly do bathrooms #3 & 4. At least #3! Movie at 1:00 and since DS19 is leaving on Tuesday to go back to college, I have a special couple of meals to make him and the cookies I promised him he could take back. Quote:
