Brrrrr, that just looks cold!

I am so mad at myself, I ate bad again last night! And, it shot my sugar up, what is wrong that I can't get back into the groove I was in and felt so much better in??? Ok, determined to do better today. Had Fage for breakfast. I think one reason I am having trouble is that I am seriously sick and tired of eggs, even things like quiche don't sound as good, or the meats, etc. I need to go through my recipes and come up with some new ideas. Also, need to make some oopsies so that I can make some tuna salad sandwiches, etc. Feel free to slap me around!
Was up half the night again, this time with UTI pain and discomfort, and I know that is not helped by letting my sugar get to high, so slap me again!
But, my hair color turned out good.
Sandy, DD#2 went to that movie yesterday with a friend and they both liked it too. Bah on the critics!
DGS 7 months is coming by this afternoon to visit, that will be fun.

buffy, 'spilling' sugar can really excoriate the tissue of the urethrea and vulva. you may be confusing this w a UTI...which can lead to taking unnecessary meds. so get that sugar under control and the sx should subside. i've been eating yogurt or a smoothie for breakfast for a long time because i just cannot get into egg/meat breakfast. i have to eat sooner since these foods don't hold me as long but i would rather do that than consume a heavy breakfast. also, i do not get a spike from cultured milk products.....how bout you?

Hi everyone..

You know..sometimes we have to mix up breakfast..Eggs can get "old" sometimes and sort of boring, I agree..I had made some cream cheese muffins and they are easy and really fill you up. Shakes are good for the morning as well as hot cereal made with flax meal, nuts, cinnamon, coconut flour, etc..

I had some water retention yesterday..up one pound. Had bacon..But, I've been good today so far.

DH is leaving for Atlanta, so we are washing stuff..DS will leave on Monday, so I will get his stuff in order tomorrow afternoon.

Poor KState lost to OU...cry, cry, cry.

Here's a recipe for hot cereal from Barbo..

Barbo's Big Batch Cereal
I love this cereal. Now all you have to do is mix well Place cereal in a container with a tight fitting lid. I keep my cereal in the freezer, but fridge is
fine. Place 1/3 c. of cereal in your bowl, add hot water slowly until you
get the correct thickness that you like. No milk or sugar sub is necessary.

Equal Parts of:
1 c. coconut flour
1 c. Designer Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
1 c. toasted chopped pecans
1 c. golden flax meal
1 c. whole powdered milk
1 Splenda Quick Pack
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)

Shon - the map is still moving back on page 5 - you can check out your weather!
It looks like the worst is passed by. We were a sheet of ice this morning!

Carolyn - when you say Designer Vanilla Whey Protein Powder, do you mean those giant plastic things in the health food section? Does it come in smaller quantities?
And thoughts on what else I could use besides powdered milk?

Who gave the recipe for the Chicken Spinach Parmesan?? Anyone?

I think that any protein powder would work.

Just skip the powdered milk and add some almond breeze if you want something creamy in your cereal.

Great ideas on b/fast, thanks gals. Also, Jem, you are may be right on the UTI, if I drink tons of water the symptoms go away.
Did good on eating today, didn't eat enough but at least it was all LC.
BB tomorrow,.

Hi everyone! Well, we're finally somewhat dug-out from the snow storm. Now we're getting ready for another one starting tonight - then the ridiculously cold temps start! Welcome to January! The weather map is interesting - thanks MK - now I can watch our next storm coming. It won't be as bad as yesterday, though.

Went to Mass this morning, came home and made some cinnamon eggs for breakfast. The cereal sounds good - might give it a try. I see the dr tomorrow morning, so I'll ask him if I can start adding other foods. I'm getting extremely bored with plain stuff, but it has helped my tummy. I have been completely pain free for 2 days now!

Buffy, hope you are feeling better, and you too, MK. We need to all get well so we can start to play harder and more!

Stay warm Shon. And great news about pain free. You're making progress! What are cinnamon eggs? Like french toast w/o the bread? Sounds good.

I just beat 2 eggs, add 3-4 drops of sweetzfree and then about 1 tsp of cinnamon, make an omelet in co and enjoy. You can also put a drop of vanilla extract. I really like them and when I want something sweet it really takes care of the craving. They have been especially helpful with my tummy.

Hi!
Shon - your eggs sound like the mock danish I used to make!
I'd scramble eggs, add a little DV syrup, cinnamon and cream cheese.
Put the lid on the skillet and let it cook until done.
Then put sf syrup on it while you eat - though it's sweet enough without it.

Now my sweetness mainly comes from yogurt.

We're getting really cold on Tuesday - the high should be 10°!

LOLOL..I'm sure Jack thinks he is in heaven...Duck polygamy. Now, does he like blondes or brunettes??

Shon: Gosh, you guys really got the snow..We have been really lucky. I'm glad your tummy is better. It does take a while to heal up, so please be careful..K?

The very best thing for a UTI I have found is D-Mannose..I like the kind you mix with water and drink. It coats the bacteria and then swishes it out..

Gary is gone and Brett is leaving tomorrow. We went Wallie shopping and I made him some banana bread to take back to school. He found a couple of waffle irons at the farm, so we are doing LC waffles for dinner to see which
iron works the best.

Hi everybody. I've been busy with DH all day. Church, walk in the park, out to eat and then fighting my laptop all afternoon and evening. All of a sudden my media player doesn't want to recognize any of my DRM and I can't figure out how to fix it, so no .wma audio files until I do. Grrrr. I was pretty good today though. Egg/cream cheese fake french toast thingy for breakie and then hamburger steak for late lunch and cheese and salami and raw almonds for snacks. Better than yesterday!

We saw Gran Torino yesterday. It was good but I told DH it should be called Dirty Harry on Medicare, lol.

Does this make any sense????

Busy day. Lunch with DH, met up with my DD's and DGS later for Marley & Me, cute movie but sad at the end. Then to Target to resupply fridge with Fage, then home to put things away and eat dinner. Will post today's menu. Good day.

Oh my Carolyn, that would have been really bad to see this movie, not being prepared for the ending. Both of my DD's and I really thought it was sad, one guy got up and walked out, not sure if it was that or not. Anyone who has lost a pet would feel that way I am sure.

Morning!

Exactly why I didn't want to see the movie!
I'd read the book, so I knew the ending, but I'm not sure I could be prepared anyway!

Morning everyone!

Buffy - I just saw Fage at Kroger. Is it really that good?

Well, any eggs Janet (or any of the other girls Jack gets with) lay will be fertile. Then I will have the choice to either eat them or hatch them. Unless you set them, there is very little difference between the fertile and unfertile eggs. Since the duck breeds I have tend to be terrible moms (they lay the eggs and then have no clue what to do with them), I would need to get an incubator and set them myself. Another option is to get a silkie chicken. This little breed of chicken is really fluffy and these crazy things try to hatch anything. Not sure what Ed would do if I brought home one of these....

Hi Lola, good to see you back and congrats on the great blood results! What does that nurse say now? I think the Drs. and medical field will be the hardest to convert to LC but if we ever get them or Oprah hooked I think it's smooth sailing from there, lol.

Zilla, those chicks are very cute! Surely Ed wouldn't mind, lol.

Zilla, I am confused. Are those your ducks in your pen? I thought you had the 3 (3's company) and lived in Colorado? Green grass and quite a few ducks, I am . The little chickie that tries to hatch everything sounds neat, you should get one....

Oh, I will ask my Kroger to order Fage if they will get it, that is where I do almost all my shopping as it is closest to my house and I think their prices are the best for my area at least. Yes, Fage is very good. I have tried the full fat, my fave, but also if you can only get 2% that is good, I don't think the 0% fat is nearly as good. I see it at a few other stores but they usually just have the 0% or the one combined with fruit or honey and it is higher in carbs.

DH just went to Sams, I asked him to get me plain chicken wings, theirs are good and nice sized. I just bake them and DGS loves it when I make little chicken legs as he calls them.
