Zilla - what's that saying - when you reach a certain age you have to decide if you want your face to look good or your butt to look good!

Morning everyone.
yes Sandy, visit often and hopefully he can leave there soon.
Smokey, wow, you are quite a bit thinner looking, really shows.
MK, yuk, I hate to clean bathrooms, until I get started that is, then I want to scrub it from top to bottom.
Hmm, didn't realize mice wore underwear, but yes, I have seen Mickey Mouse underwear, not that I think of it
For the cookies, I use a mixture of molasses and Xylitol honey that I ordered online. It is great stuff. The molasses give the cookies a lot of flavor so I still use some of that. I put my tweaked version in the original thread yesterday. I quadrupled the recipe so it now makes me 5 dozen. Why go to all that trouble for 1 doz? Yesterday I added SF cranberry relish I had made, plus some Lindt dark chocolate, wow, those are wonderful.
Not sure what DGS and I are going to do today, or what time he is going to want to go home. I will just see what he wants to do. I let him stay up late last night, so he is sleeping in this morning.

hey gord you are a handsome guy and don't forget, wrinkles are the roadmap to the soul. look at robert redford; still a hunk. anyway, i'd rather have a guy w a good body. zilla, i'll be curious to see what your readings are. BG testing is the only way to prove and disprove food myths. cultured dairy has no effect on my BS (yay for the yogurt exception). right now i am testing for erythritol....stevia was great and really does lower (which means it stimulates insulin). i have just started testing for e so the jury is still out. my gastroparisis is causing me grief lately so i went liquid for breakfast and lunch yesterday....delic smoothies, of course. then had a burger w garlic butter for dinner. pre dinner i ate some steamed broccoli dipped in sc/mayo. dr bernstein says give up fibrous vegies like broccoli but it is my favorite veg. it does seem that if i eat things alone instead of mixing in a whole meal i do much better. anyway, stay warm. we're sunny here except for some morning fog. i'm looking at hemet, CA as my winter get away. hopefully this'll be the last winter in the north.

Hi everyone..

And, Gord..you look great! Although I think you are sending your "geese" our way..We have never seen so many Canadians in the air. I think the cold weather makes them go way south..Too bad they stopped off in NYC..

Thanks for the cookie instructions. I do have the molasses and love the flavor..

My "mouse" is Minnie, unless you think Mickey is cross-dressing. I'm not happy with her head, but I will try to post a picture after I finish her undies and socks.

HEY....I had a Taco Chip Free Lunch today. I just said "No" and it made dh cut back, too...I am proud of myself..

Jem: Why does Bernstein not like fibrous veggies? I think your experiments are very interesting.

carolyn, it's not that he doesn't like them....w gastroparesis the sphincter that allows food to leave your stomach (duodenal i think), is not functioning so lets very little through. anything fibrous can clog the small opening.

Gee, MaryKay..I don't know..but my yarn didn't add any extra parts..

Oh..it's for your gastroparesis..I didn't know if it was the rule for diabetics that they shouldn't eat fibrous veggies, but I can see how broccoli would clog you up.

I got my first egg yesterday

(That's a large chicken egg from the store next to it. You can see how huge that duck egg is.)

We already did. We did a side by side comparison. Fried it up along with the chicken egg. The duck egg yolk was richer (no doubt due to the ducks having access to fresh veggies, grass and bugs). Very tasty!

Just went out to the pen and there was another egg in the hutch. We think it is Janet that is laying. Lana wont lay for another month or so (she is a seasonal layer), but Chrissy could start any day now.

Morning everyone.
Zilla, that is so cool about the eggs. I didn't know if they would taste the same or not, so now if you cook with them, if a recipe calls for 2 eggs, I guess you would use 1 duck egg?
You know Carolyn, tell Minnie her head is ok, I always thought mine was a little flat in the back myself
I made some of the cream cheese clouds last night, have them in the freezer. The mix was good before freezing but very rich.
MK, fresh snow is one of the prettiest sights ever. Both at night, under a full moon and the morning after a snowfall. I miss it, but can live with pictures
Well, off to get busy with my day, BBL

My goodness, Zilla..You have big grandducks!! What an egg..and very Barry friendly...Now, do you think Chrissy knows how to lay an egg???

I made the Red Velvet Cake last night..and had a piece for breakfast...Gosh, I'm still full.
That coconut flour is sure filling.

Okay, Minnie is done..I will take a picture this afternoon and have Gary email it to me..or I might have to do this tonight..Gary said Minnie looked like a rabbit. Oh well.

We are having a Newcomer's lunch today at a great salad place..So, I'll have a small salad..I'm not even hungry after eating that cake for breakfast. You know, maybe Marie
Antoinette had something there when she said, "Let them eat cake"..

Hopefully Janet is showing her. Chrissy, though cute, it a little slow ya know. She really does take after her namesake!!!

Jack is turning out to be quite the Romeo. He has been....uhhh... busy with all the ladies though he prefers Janet and Lana.

I went to see my dad and to be honest, I'm pretty unimpressed with this rehab place. I ended up chewing on several people while I was there and we're having a meeting in the morning with all the heads of the different depts. I hope things look up quickly!

I was down to 145 this a.m. but I haven't been perfect today. I took Dad lunch and ate with him. Homemade veg. soup and I had a couple of crackers too. Then I had a few chips! Grrrr. I think I'm reined in now though, lol.

Zilla, I've never eaten a duck egg, but I'd be willing to try one. I don't like duck meat though.

I love trash TV and yes it is low carb, lol.
I couldn't sleep this a.m. so I'm up waiting for the coffee to brew. I have a big meeting today with all the different heads at the rehab center. I wonder how much trouble it would be to move him to another place? I'm thinking of just taking him out of there and take him home. I could stay with him and take him to rehab until I leave the last day of Jan. Then someone else would have to step in. But the plan has always been that he'd be home and ok on his own by the time I leave or someone else would have to step in. I hate being in this quandary.

And I'm back up those 2 pounds I dropped this weekend. Too many carbs yesterday I think. Plus, Sunday I hardly ate anything at all so I had a "fake weight loss" from that, lol.

Morning all.
I was hoping to see 211 on the scale this morning but it was 212.2. We are leaving the 25th of Jan. to go to Florida, I sure would like to at least be back to my 209 by then, still so disgusted with myself for getting off track

Sandy, see how your meeting goes today, and see if they make good changes. If not, then maybe see about another place, you want him in a good place and that would be better for you. Let us know how the meeting goes.

If MK is going to be hatching eggs, she is going to have to sit in one place for a long time and folks, that just ain't happening with our MK

ARRRGGG, my eyes won't stop itching. I have allergy drops for them but they make my vision blurry.

More office work today, got a lot done yesterday though. My online class starts tomorrow, so I want to be caught up and have plenty of time to work on that.

Still laughing about Gary thinking Carolyn's mouse was a bunny!

Hi Jem, Gord, Zilla, everyone

Tried the Creamy Italian chicken on the Recipe help board last night, it was very good. Have leftovers, yay! I still have one little bowl of cranberry relish left, so I am going to make another batch of my chewy nut cookies with chocolate, they are sooo good.

Got another egg

Looks like Janet is in full egg production mode. Khaki's lay about one a day as long as they are getting good food. My ducks are spoiled rotten so no issues there.

Hi everyone.

Gosh, Sandy...You can probably move your dad, but you would probably have to find a good place to "move to" and do some research on your own. Honestly, I don't know if you could take care of him at home and take him to outpatient rehab for a while..I think once he is home, then he is home...I doubt if insurance would pay for him to go back into rehab if he has been checked out and doing rehab at home. Medicare is a funny thing..Prayers for a good result..We weren't too happy with Betty's rehab place years ago, but it worked for her and it was the only place in our little town..But you have the whole of KCity to work with.

Buffy: We all get off track..but it's easy to get back on track..I'm sure you will be down before you leave.

Zilla: You must have prolific duckies there..

I knit a sheep last night..during trash tv. I will assemble the flock for a picture.

I wrote the author of my Uncle's story..(The Brenner Assignment)..Hopefully, he will contact me...

EEkk..I was up to 150 this morning..But, I ate when I wasn't hungry..

That's the key for me...Don't eat when you are not hungry, Carolyn.

No, MKay, you would not be a good "Horton"..

Hi to Jem and all our peeps out there.
