Hi everyone..

I "entered" Alex with a caption at the I Can Has Cheezburger site. He might be famous.
Rory thought of the caption..not me. "If lubbin u iz wong I dohn wanna be rite"..

Welcome, SB..You might say "we chew the fat" here...LOLOLO..The best thing you can do for yourself is to order Barry's book Natural Health and Weight Loss..It is available in Canada on-line.

Yes, we all love our kitties and doggies..

Went shopping with a friend to Bartlesville. She is not a browser type of person, so we were home early.

Hmmm on the sugar rise..You know, Buffy..some peeps count the carbs in the AS as half..So, that might be where your problem came from.

Great caption Carolyn!!

sbflower - we do weigh in at the beginning of each month, and we help newbies discover what fat is all about. Besides that, we're here mainly for support ~ and wifezilla's recipes!

Morning!
Oh Carolyn, how funny. Yes, that is the purrfect caption!!!
Getting hair cut today at 1:00, so since it is right in the middle of the day it really makes it hard to get much else done. I have to run by the mall too.
Had our Lady Ellks meeting last night to decide who were were going to give Christmas baskets and gifts too and we have a list of 19 seniors who I am going to shop for. Quite a few just asked for gift certificates, so it won't take long and will be fun to do.

Cute kitty Carolyn.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I've just come back around to doing lowcarb. Usually I do the 1600 calories and 60 carbs but I never worried about the amount of fat. This time around I started with the Atkins Induction and began seeing more and more posts about the amount of fat in your daily diet...thus I found you guys.

I just started back on low carb last Saturday so I haven't tracked calories yet but I'm sure I'm eating too many. It's time to head back to Fitday and update some things. I haven't used it since they changed their format earlier this year.

Well...thanks again and hopefully I'll stay on track and be back to get some of those recipes!

Hi all,
Welcome SB! We love having new friends join us.

Speaking of friends, what happened to Shonmarie? I hope everything is ok with her and her family.

I had to take Dad to the Dr. early. Then we went to breakfast and then back to get his stuff for the weekend. DH had another appt. for his hearing aids this afternoon which was almost as far as my brother's house, so we ended up just taking Dad on down to his house for the weekend. And Dad has another dr. appt. Monday to see about knee replacement! Busy, busy.

I wish I knew exactly what to eat every day. Like the old, old WW back in the day. I'd like to figure out exchanges for EFGT and then figure out how many of each to eat each day. I'm not sure how to do that. Anybody up for the challenge of figuring that one out, lol.

Yes, I have been thinking about "keeping track" for a change..Maybe after Tday we could have a Reindeer TracksChallenge for December where, for those who want, can keep "track" of what they eat, the percentages, etc.?

OR, we might have a whole "other thread" for keeping track..Since we have our own board..Then we could just chitter chatter on this one? Thoughts????????

I just got home from running around today........2 WW calls, exercise, shopping...Good grief. I don't know what I would do if I had a real job.

I like the idea of tracking Carolyn. I don't know how great I'll be at it during Dec. though, lol. Bad month for any diet I think. And I like having a 2nd thread for tracking and this one for all around friendliness. Just my vote.

I do like the idea of tracking, too... Let's start anyway in December..When peeps feel like "tracking" they can post..Sort of practicing for the New Year tracking. I know I won't be partying everyday in December..I don't think..

Ok, tracking sounds good but I'm pretty sure I'm going to really need Rudolph to guide my path many days during December, lol. Hopefully I won't be partying everyday either, but you just never know, lol. I've been attacked by a chocolate bar the last 2 days!!!

Popping in ladies to say I'm still EFGT and dropped another lb last week making it 6 lbs in 2 weeks....it would have been more but I'm eating too many nuts and I'm almost always at the high end of my protein limit....I'm really struggling with keeping the protein down but I know that Barry is right and I am working on it...the nuts are going to have to go since I cannot control myself....I know where I can get 1 oz packets of macadamias and I seem to be able to control myself with them so I 'll keep some around for snacking but that's it....I hope to have a bigger loss next week...

I like the idea of a thread for menus and another for chat...

Have a great OP day

Lise

Hi gals..

Lise: Good for you..Nuts are of the debil, girl. It's soooooooooo easy to overeat them and they contain lots of calories. It's not just the carbs..it's the calories and no one just has nuts for a meal. (unless you are a squirrel...but then you run around all day long).

MKay: You mean that dh doesn't make coffee very well...or he doesn't share his coffee?

December 1st we will start tracking, K? On another thread, K? It will be fun to have 2 real threads..

Doing laundry, then G and I are off to B'ville later on to do a bit of Christmas shopping and dinner out............

KState plays Iowa State. Brett was supposed to go out on his own and buy his own winter coat. Hmmm..I'm hoping he did that.

Zilla: Bummer for you..Treat yourself to something nommie and hot!!!

I'm all up for tracking. We can start a new thread or just post here when we pop in to say hello in the mornings. Any place is fine with me. Heck I'll start right now and then when we start "for real" in Dec I'll go wherever you guys take me. .

I weigh in every day too so I'd probably do something like put my a.m. weight and then my "Reindeer Tracks" of what I ate the day before...like this...

11/22: 193.5 73/21/6 (73% fat, 21% protein, 6% carbs)

Since I started reading more about eating more fat (a mere few days ago) I went back and started tracking on Fitday, which I haven't done since last March. I noticed the other day that the percetages on Fitday didn't add up to 100 but only to 99%. I wonder where that other percent went?

I'm really bad about tracking on the weekends, I'm surprised I'm on here today. So...that's the 2 cents of a newbie.

About me: I live in southern Florida. I'm divorced, was with my Ex for 13 years. I'm 45, and I'm working on making a new life.

It took me 5 years to attempt a new relationship, and I have a nice man in my life right now but I'm taking it very easy. You'd be surprised how slow you can take it when you use your head more than your heart!

My weight was at its highest, 225, several years ago. I managed to get down to 175 for a minute but my weight has remained on a more stable course at about 195 over the past 5 or 6 years. I lose a little, gain a little.

I had a scare on Oct 27th of this year when I saw the scale hit 203. That was a wake up call for me and it became time to get my ducks back in a row. So, I've landed here, in what seems to be a safe and friendly environment. I hope to find friendship and encouragement and hopefully I can give something back as well.

Okay....well I think that sums it up.

Sb: You are doing so well..Thanks for the update on your life and your situation. I do believe that darned "set point" has alot to do with how hard it is to lose weight. It's a weight that your body strives to get at. It can be a "high" weight, too. Say, your set point is 200..As long as you don't overeat or undereat, it stays there..Then if you overeat, and gain and stay there for a while, the new set point might be 225..Then if you begin to lose weight and get down to 185, say..You have to stay there for several months in order to form a new set point. Honestly, it might be longer than that..

We are so glad you are amongst us.. Do you have a first name that you want to share?

Hi Kelly!!
Thanks for joining us - you'll be a perfect addition - just don't talk about your lovely weather until at least May - most of us are freezing our heinies off!

I make decaf - he makes caf, I like flavored, he likes plain . . . . we're a mixed marriage!

It's bitterly cold here - and we need to work outside, but I'm hoping tomorrow will be better!

I'm rotating between being on the computer, doing laundry, reading a book, watching a video and cleaning out the workout room.
It sounds crazy, but it's actually working well. I don't feel overwhelmed and I'm seeing progress everywhere.

What's everyone up to?
