I went to Kroger today and they had a "party" throughout the store. Each department had foods, appetizers, desserts, etc for you to try. I didn't have one single thing. I DID look though cuz it was all so pretty, the cashiers, people manning the "stations" throughout the store were all dressed up in party attire. It was just what I needed to get me in the festive mood, and the fact that it's getting cold as heck out, so it seemed like the holidays.

Kim and Alyssa stopped over here after they went to Kroger, I'd missed them at the store by just a few minutes, I passed them about 1/4 mile from the store. Kim was going to get dog food for Hunter and Addie and milk for Alyssa. She said all Alyssa wanted was an orange cookie. WOnder if she's my grandchild????? maybe they switched the baby at the hospital???

Talk to you all later, I'll try to stop by again tonight.

Good morning gals..

I made a bean brownie cake last night. They are wonderful. It's nice to have chocolate for breakfast

I was 147 this morning, so I am hoping to get back to 146-5 before our weigh-in...grrr.
Chiro is at 9, then will exercise, have a meeting, go to lunch, and do a WW call at 3:00.
Phew!!!!!!!!! I sound like the "rest of you" busy ladies.

I wish we had a Krogers here..Our 2 choices for food are: Super Wallie and Marvins (which is a basic grocery store). SW is cheaper, so I go there for my "big" shopping.

Morning ladies!
My weight was 212.6 this morning, 2nd day in a row that it was 212 something, am I ready to drop a lb?????? Sure hope so.
Have a beef roast to go in the oven today, and then a few turnips, I have NEVER fixed a turnip in my life, but want to try the Pioneer Woman's turnip au gratin, it looks awesome but I have no idea what a turnip tastes like. Hoping I like it. I also have a butternut squash I will put in the oven along with the other 2 items.
That is Zilla , if I have any room to eat after taking all of my fish oil capsules I am experimenting with. Seems there was an article in First magazine about losing belly fat with mega doses of fish oil, so I have increased mine to see what happens since I was already taking it. Zilla and I have been on the thread.
Finally have a week without too much on, at least until the end of the week, so maybe I can get fully caught up around the house and office. Needs to be done!
The bean brownies sound good Carolyn, I am subscribed to that thread and read it with interest, just haven't tried them yet.
Have a great day everyone

Good Monday morning, crew! Nice to be back at work, but there was a LOT of stuff waiting for me....roll eyes.

I love love LOVE the Tuna plays--especially Tuna Christmas!! There's supposed to be a production of it here in town somewhere next month, and I want to take my DDs to see it. DD15 played Bertha Bumiller in her school's production of Greater Tuna last year, but there was no quick-change, two-person thing---they just assigned parts to various kids and did the play. It was still funny (she still talks about the "bitter pill" ha!), but I want her to see it done by two GUYS so she'll know just how stinkin' hilarious it can be!!

Chocolate for breakfast. YUM, Carolyn!! And a day early!

Started the grapefruit seed extract and CO on Saturday. Wow. Definitely have some die-off starting already...itchy scalp, ears, hands and "other" places (ugh), but I'll just remind myself it's part of the cure. When I'm out of the GSE, I'll switch to oil of oregano and then go back.

Buffy, I have a recipe for Scalloped Turnips that is to die for, if you want it. It's Dottie's (admin) recipe, and I made it for Thanksgiving a few years back. Folks practically licked the dish clean!! It is fabulous--full of bacon, cream and butter. It could probably be the "poster child" dish for EFGT!! I am a lifelong turnip hater, but I could eat this stuff three times a day. It is fabulous...

Re the CO....I'm thinking about ordering some from puritan's pride online. If you order two 16 oz containers, you get THREE free! So that's five jars for about $43. Do you think that's pretty reasonable?? I've only bought it once or twice locally, and it was about $16/16 oz, I think. The PP brand is extra virgin CO--and I noticed that they also carry CO in softgel form. For taking it several times a day, that sounded pretty good to me, since I'm not an eat-it-off-a-spoon kind of person.

Well, gotta WORK!!! Will check back later...hi to all--zilla, lise, sandy, rebecca and anyone else who comes by!

Hi Ladies.....sounds like everyone is doing well. The scale this morning said 168 so I am oh so excited. Haven't been under 170 in about two years.

Buffy as for fish oil coromega makes one that comes in a emulsified packet either orange or lime flavored all you need is a packet or two a day (depending n how much you are trying to get in) and it is super concentrated and bioavailable so you don't need as much. Thats what I take. you can get it at costco or order online.

As for gel coconut oil capsuls IMO don't think it is very cost effective, I read somewhere you have to take 16 caps to equal one tbs of CO. I find it easier to mix it in a hot drink or one of my favorites is mixed with PB and a sprinkle of sweetner. YUM..... also use it to cook with or just scramble my eggs with it. I have found that since I started taking it my energy level has improved and it seems I have an easier time losing weight. Although I am not sure if its just the EFGT WOE or a combo of both. Whatever it is I am very happy with the way things are going with this.

I am hoping for another 10-12# before I go to Hawaii on vacation in December.

will check in later...have a great day!

Shari, yes please, can I have the turnip recipe asap, I am going to be making those this afternoon. YOurs sounds tried and true, the best kind! I am doing sort of a trial run b/4 the holidays.

Ask about the PP CO in the main lobby, lots of experience there with CO and the different brands. Also, I would not take it in gel form, I don't think you would get enough of it to benefit unless you took a lot of them.

Will ck back soon to see if you are able to post the recipe or send me looking in the right direction.

I've heard it's good to get the 'burpless' kind . . . . otherwise you end up with fish breath!

I went to cardio class this morning and then an hour of 'almost hot' yoga. Only 120° in the room! At first I thought I'd die, but after you get used to it, I could stretch like crazy! It makes your muscles so warm they can do anything! Amazing!

And the dog may get fat, so I'm bundling up to take him out for a walk.
Ick.

Hmm, wonder which is worse, keto breath or fish breath, or, keto fish breath, yucko!!! LOL.
Made a small batch or erythritol fudge today that is one of Kevenpa's recipe. Taste was good, but texture of mine wasn't quite right. But, it would definitly satisfy that craving.
Now, on to put together the turnip casserole.

Hey..I need to make that turnip casserole, too

I bought some Cod Liver Oil today..(orange flavor). Mary Enig said the Vitamin A in it is good for your thyroid and it's supposed to be like Prozak..So, if I'm a bit cheerier, I'll let you know, ladies.

Thanks for the pre-birthday wishes..I'll be 59 tomorrow..but I'm in pretty good shape, so I'm happy about that.

MKay: I had to laugh at your "hot yoga" cuz today the furnace went out at my faux Curves building..BRRRRR...I kept my lightweight jacket on and I warmed up. Hopefully, Toni can get it fixed in a day or two.

Yes, Buffy is right about the CO capsules..You have to take tons of them to make up one Tbs. and they are quite expensive compared to the liquid form.

Hi to everyone..Brett is at his "internship" interview at Folgers in KC..tonight and tomorrow.

I didn't leave the house all day!! I did get alot done around here. Did a bit of cleaning, laundry and got all the presents wrapped. I almost put up the tree! I've been drinking water and lemon juice all day trying to flush out the kidney stones. I read about a cure where you drink olive oil and lemon juice and I've taken a couple doses of that too. It's a little hard to stomach but if it works..... It seems to have gotten great results, so we'll see.

I have lunch and massage tomorrow and then dinner theater tomorrow night.

Good luck to Brett. It sure smells good down there all the time.

Hi..

Brett is staying at the Embassy Suites at the Plaza..Two of the Folger's men took him to P. F. Chang's for dinner..Lucky guy..He will have an all day tour tomorrow. I hope he finds route 70 on the way home.

Sandy: Yes, I have read of those 'cures' too..D-Mannose is wonderful for bladder infections, but I don't think it does much for the kidneys..

Morning everyone.
Wishing Brett good luck!!!
I love full days at home, I had one yesterday. Sometimes I get tons done, other times I kind of take the afternoon off and watch movies. Both are great.
Ashland, congrats on your loss. You are doing a great job. I will do a search for the coramega fish oil.
I think I will be home all day today and need to work in my office all day, but, a friend's mother needs to go to the Dr. and friend isn't sure she can get off work, so I volunteered to take her if needed.
Hit a new low of 209.8 this morning!!! My last lowest was 212.2 but I had some bathroom issues yesterday, so, it will probably go back up, but heck, it was sure fun to see that number on the scale. Means it certainly might be coming before too long. 209 is the lowest I can remember being in quite a few years, I hit that once doing WW about 5 years ago, but immediately gained back. So, to see anything below that will be like traveling into a new country, or, a very old country, LOL.
I have to say, I hate that I developed diabetes, but it is almost a blessing to finally find out what had held me at that high weight for so long and made it sooo very hard to lose. Of course eventually, untreated diabetes will make you lose weight, but not before a lot of damage has occurred.
Off to read the other threads, bbl.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you about my turnips!!!

I had never eaten a turnip before. I was going to make the casserole Shari mentioned but I got lazy as I was fixing dinner. So, I just buttered a casserole (with real butter Barry ) and then peeled, sliced and layered 4 small turnips on the bottom. I then placed about a 1/2 cup of thinly sliced onion on top of that, added a few thin slivers of butter and salt and pepper. Then added about 1 1/2 cups of shredded white cheese. Poured enough cream over top to cover all and baked about 1 hour in 325 oven. I LOVED it, will definitely replace potatoes for me. DH was a stinker and would not even try it , his loss. I think Shari's recipe will be awesome, I was just too lazy at that point to go through the extra steps.

I love turnips! I just peel them and cut them up like potatoes. I boil them, drain them, add cream and butter and a little sweetener. My whole family loves them too. Even the kids! You mash them on your plate and then drizzle the juice over them with salt and pepper. Yummy! I hate peeling turnips though. That's the only downside. Lol.

WTG on the loss Buffy!!

Sandy, I read on one of the threads that they are easier to peel if you stick them in the microwave and steam them just a little before peeling. But, I can't remember how long it was for. Might try it next time. I will be using these a lot, I can't believe the difference in carbs between them and potatoes, I looked it up on 2 different sites to make sure.

Thanks, guys..I WISH (not really) I was 29 again..

We can have a virtual lunch..

Well, Gary will take me to dinner tonight at our local "nice" restaurant. I can get grilled shrimp and some great broccoli.

Going to get my eyebrows waxed in a few minutes...It makes a big difference when you don't have caterpillars crawling on your forehead.
