Hi ladies, I have found a great bread out there that is low in carbs, high in protein and fiber and great tasting, especially with coco cream/pb mix, or topped with cream cheese, lox, tomatoes, red onion and capers( fixes by bagel cravings). It is from french meadow bakery and you can find it in the refigerated but probably freezer of local health food stores. And the best part very low glycemic and only 5g net carbs per slice. Suitable for diabetics and low carb eating plans. here is the nutrition info:

Yes! Finally!
I have had a break through. I have been 184 for about 6 weeks. I am down 2 pounds this morning. It could not have come at a better time since my trip to the doctor was rather depressing. Not really depressing I guess. I’m not sick or anything. It’s just the knee thing and not being able to do any repetitive type exercise. I lost 12 pounds in August and just sat the whole month of September at 184 until now. I would wake up every morning and weight. As 184 showed up on the scale each morning I would say ok but I feel good so I will continue to eat low carb. No sugar. No flour. No potatoes. I feel good so off to the kitchen I went. I have a pep talk every time I head for the kitchen. I often remember the words I spoke to my sister one day when she told me, I didn’t not know what I wanted. My reply was, maybe so… but I know what I don’t want! Well, right now it is No sugar. No flour. No potatoes. I was getting week in my resolve when I found this message board. I want to tell you and thank you all that it and you all was what pulled me the rest of the way through. ![]()

yesterday I was suppose to have Alyssa all day cuz Kim had a make up class in the morning and then a massage in the afternoon, and I was at WalMart in the morning getting yarn of a friend that just found out that her baby she's having is a little girl when Kim called, she was bawling and Alyssa was screaming bloody murder. Kim didn't have her hearing aid in and didn't hear Alyssa scoot the bar stool over, climb onto the kitchen bar-countertop (baby is a climber like I was, damn it!!!) and monkey crawled onto the hot stove. Kim had her back turned filing up the tea kettle when she heard a blood curdling scream and turned and Alyssa threw herself into Kim's arms. They rushed her to Greene Memorial and they pre-treated her and sent her onto Childrens. I followed from Greene to Childrens in my car and it's a good thing cuz Brad had to leave at 1:30 (theyr'e having somethign going on at work and he had to be there since he's manager in the electrical dept now) and Kim and Alyssa wouldn't have had a way home. She has 2nd degree burns on her right foot (2 coil marks on the ball and all 5 toes got it) and on her left one coil mark on the ball of her foot and the big and 2nd toe got burned. They gave her IBU at Greene, then Tylenol with Codene in the ER at Childrens, THEN a sedative in the burn unit cuz they cleaned it up and dressed it. The nurse didn't know if she'd handle the cleaning of it (she was fine, she could have gone without the sedative, but the nurse didn't want her remembering the experience so that was good) and the dressing of it. Last night she was up running around, dancing and singing with Maria on the sound of music. She's OBSESSED with Maria right now. Kim said she was dancing and singing today too. I got her a Cinderella costume to play in and she thinks it's like Maria's dress. LOL. She twirls and holds it out just like Julie Andrews does. I got her Mary Poppins for Christmas cuz she loves Julie Andrews so much. Haha. Anyway, that's why I didn't look at my emails last night. John said this morning he doesn't remember many times that i didn't read, knit or play on the computer since I've gotten the computer. Just felt that I'd had it with the whole world last night. LOL. I figured if I just laid in bed not much could happen bad. I told him to stay in bed and I would get him his water, etc that he wanted cuz I've seen enough of hospitals, etc and I didn't want to see one more. He said maybe I BETTER be the one to stay in bed then. LOL. 6 of one, half dozen of the other at that point.
I will check in later. everyone has been told to be good in my family for the rest of the weekend!!! __________________ ''What would life be without dreams????'' ~William Dillon~ "Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible." ~St. Francis of Assisi "To succeed you have to believe in something with such a passion that it becomes a reality." ~Anita Roddick Rebecca Rebecca130View Public ProfileSend a private message to Rebecca130Find More Posts by Rebecca130Add Rebecca130 to Your Buddy List

hope Alyssa and kim are doing well, being a chef I have bured myself alot and I don't wish that on my worst enemy let alone a cute little child, glad to here that she is feeling better.
I posted earlier about the french medow bakery bread earlier but forgot to mention the name, Ok ladies, don't laugh.....It's called men's bread.....they make a woman's bread too but of course its full of carbs. Aside from the name its great a good chewy, toothy, whole grain bread full of seeds and grains. Yum...getting hungry just thinking of it. |

Hi gals..
Finished with our funeral dinner..The family was extremely generous and gave us a nice big check for our work. What a nice surprise...We put in our Savings for the Deaconesses and we buy something nice for the kitchen..We do need some decent pots/pans.. ![]() Becky: I would be freaking out..Hot stoves are so scarey..Glad your baby is okay.. Star: Yeah for the breakthrough...Weight is funny..It comes off when it wants to...GRRRR.. Sandy: Your dh is so funny............You can't be that sick if you want chili.. We had our big chili cookoff here in town..Then they had a pumpkin dessert contest..I was going to enter it, but it said something about they judge the "presentation"..Martha Stewart where are you?Ashland: That bread sounds wonderful..However, some peeps have trouble with grains..but if you can lose while eating it, that's super.. My hfs only carries Ezekiel.Tonight we are going to "Joseph...Coat"...It is one of my favorite musicals.. ![]() There was a pie crust made with almond flour and coconut oil in the recipe bulletin board..It looked pretty good..I might give it a whirl.

Carolyn, Alyssa's actually my grandbaby, but she's practically my baby since she spends 1/2 her life with Mammaw, while her mommy works/goes to school and her daddy works. If Kim and Brad are working the same schedule, she's with me, which is about 4-5 afternoons a week. Plus we hang out together, we're a close family and tend to do more family things that things with friends. She's coming over in a little bit with her mommy (we're calling her Hobbalong now) for dinner cuz Brad is closing tonight. Kim is craving au gratin potatoes (my recipe) and John's cheeseburgers on the grill.

No MK, each booth gives you a little condiment size cup of chili and you use your own spoon for each one. I don't think the other way would be very popular, ya know?

Hi gals..
I made the lowcarb pizza for dinner tonight..The egg/cheese crust that is sooooooooooo darned easy. I feel the salt starting to build up. Tomorrow we are going to Bartlesville after church for lunch/shopping for dh. He needs a jacket (dress) as he is going to Germany, etc. for 2 weeks. I won't go as I would have to sit in the car for 2 weeks as he drives around and meets with boring people. Not fun for little me.. ![]() Joseph was wonderful.. Then we went to Sonic for a medium diet strawberry limeaide. |

Hi all,
Went to Mass this a.m. and now I think we're getting geared up for a long walk. I did an egg/meat/fat fast for 2 days and lost 2 pounds over the weekend so far!! I'm still deciding whether to do it one more day or not. I've only had eggs and cream so far today so I might continue. I just want to get into ketosis and try to keep on track easier. My track record has not been so good lately. If DS and his family decide that they want to go eat for their reward for keeping our dog while we're on vacation, I'll probably break that fast but still keep it LC. My dog ate almost a whole $10 bill last night!!! I really hope I can get it replaced easily. Hopefully my bank will do it, but if not I'll have to send it in some place reg. mail, etc. She chews paper when she's anxious and I left it and a $20 bill laying on the end table when we went to a movie last night. Grrrr!

So good news is she didn't eat the $20?!
I think banks will replace it if there's more than half of the bill remaining. |

Sandy - I do a meat and egg fast if I need to lose quickly - though not for too many days in a row!
DD22 and I walked today too. DH took DS16 to the school meeting and shoe shopping so I could get some laundry done. Yay! |

She ate about 2/3 of the bill but the whole serial number is still in tact. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I hope my bank will take it to save me the trouble.
Our walk was wonderful. It was a 2 mile hike around a new local lake/park that just opened in our area. Everything is all new and beautiful and the leaves are really getting pretty about now. I love FALL!!! |

Hi everyone
![]() Book club yesterday, so I am boycotting the scale ![]() I drank 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine last night. Not too bad...but I did eat a sliver of pumpkin cake. I have been WAY hungry today though. Hormones no doubt One of my friends (who is my age) is on to some vegan kick. I had to bite my tongue a few times. Between her and my vegetarian friend, I could easily get in to real trouble! LOL Fortunately there is plenty of ground we agree (treating animals more humanely, avoiding processed foods, etc...) on and we did have a very interesting discussion about vitamin D. Hopefully my friend will start supplementing since she gets almost no sun. If she sticks with this vegan thing, she is going to need all the help she can get!!!Hope everyone is doing well...and everyone is keeping kids off of stoves (yikes! bet she never does THAT again).

Anyone that believes in prayers, can i ask you for some tomorrow evening, around 6:00 Ohio's time. Kim is taking her exit exam and it isn't looking good at this point, I hope she get a miracle. This has been a bad quarter for her, for our whole family as a whole. Thanks so much. Going to bed now, I'm really wiped out. I will let you guys know if I find anything out about her grade. Thanks. hugs to you all.

We read TWILIGHT by Stephanie Meyer...a book about Vampires totally fit in with the time of year
All of us liked the book so much that instead of just reading the first book of the series, 3 of us read ALL 4 and the other three are at various points in book 3 and 4. We are going to talk about the rest of the series at an upcoming Halloween party we are all attending. Next month we are reading the 19th Wife. We all take turns hosting and picking the books. |
