Have a fantastic time miss
 I am stuck at the shop today. Hubby has so much running around to do. He has Max with him...and since Max LOVES riding in the car, he should be a happy camper. I just went over my schedule with my friend Joelle and I am going to be insanely busy for the next couple of weeks. How the hell did that happen? By the time I come up for air, it will be fall!!! ACK! DCI at the theater ( http://www.fathomevents.com/details....FQv7agodSFqjlA ) Bunko subbing Bookclub A friend's 40th b-day annual book club picnic get son back to school supplies trip to Utah with Max and another girl friend... Sheeshhh I am getting tired just thinking about it!

Hi everyone! Hey Lil, have a great vacation - see you when you get back.
Just got back from lunch with sil and the Mama Miamatinee. I loved it - just was relaxing and kinda silly and reminded me of my long-ago days!  And well, Pierce Brosnan on a big screen - need I say more!  Did well at lunch - salmon and grilled veggies. Still full so might only have a salad for dinner. Dh and friends left for Windsor - I told him he needed to bring back lots 'o money - I need some mall therapy! Only one more week for Caroline and Samantha!  She's about had enough. My sister and I are going up on Sunday to give her "the works" - have no idea what she'll look like by the time the 2 of us are done with her!  Well, better get some stuff done around here. BBL

The tea was very nice. She had four different types of little finger sandwiches and 4 different types of little sweets plus several types of hot tea and had iced tea as well. She used very cute little plates and cups. It was all very formally done. She served the teas that bloom into flowers in a clear glass pot. I hope she has another one!!

Nommie...I'm drinking my homemade decaf ice coffee after working our WW houses. One was in the country( think County Road) and we couldn't find it for love or money...grrr..
MKay: Have fun at the wedding in Atlanta.. The tea sounded like lots of fun..Hmm..I think I have seen that kind of tea somewhere.. Gary got home safe and sound. I'm too pooped to do laundry ..It's so darned hot. Yesterday I made myself a dress..LOLOL..The material cost about $6.00 and it actually fits me...I might have Brett take a picture of me in the dress and post it. I do have to hem it though. Patterns run so small that a 12 fit me perfectly. I am a bad seamstress, so I totally surprised myself.

Good morning everyone at 3:00 pm here in TX
 . I had to go and get the indirect calometry test done this morning at 10:00 AM, had to fast overnight and not even a sip of water or brush my teeth before the test. So, no coffee even for me until that was done. Good news is that my metabolism is normal, even after all the yo yo dieting, terrible eating I have done most of my life. So, that means if my thyroid was working perfectly, I didn't have insulin resistance from the diabetes and wasn't on all these meds, I could probably lose weight as easily as the next person. I also started on metformin for the diabetes this week so will see if that helps me lose on the LC woe, my doctor said it does in some people but that wasn't a known side effect. Hope you all have fun on your weekend plans. Yes, Carolyn, take a picture of you in the dress and post it. I sewed all the time when I was young, made my 2 oldest girls lots of clothes and made quite a few for myself. Dont even own a sewing maching anymore. Bought porkloin chops on sale at grocery store this morning so having those for dinner, always used to drench in flour and fry, not sure how I will fix these.

Buffy, my mom was diabetic and when they finally put her on metformin she finally started losing weight. And she struggled to lose anything for over 2 years. After the meds she got most of the rest of her weight off. I don't know why they waited so long to put her on it.

Great info Sandy, thanks, that is encouraging. I have read that some people do lose on it, I just hope I am one of the lucky ones. Did she change her woe at all or cut calories anymore than she had been?

Hi gang..
My friend Carol also started losing when put on Metformin and she had tried everything. She is insulin resistant. I think she takes some Byetta, too. Went to dinner..Had a small salad/coleslaw/3 smoked ribs. We all took our extra ribs home for dinner/lunch tomorrow.. Yipee for you Alyson!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not much happening this weekend. I'm sure Gary will work at the office tomorrow and Sunday afternoon we will go up to the farm (where Gary's folks lived) and get some furniture for Brett's apartment. .. |

One side effect of Byetta is weight loss, my doctor talked to me about that, she thinks it is a good drug and was willing to prescribe it if I wanted to try it, but I said how about we start with metformin, since it is an older well known drug, and will keep the byetta in mind if we don't get results from this or I want to try it in the future for the weight loss benefit. It is just a newer drug and so I would like to see some more statistics on it before I go on it.
