Hi. It's a new week and I'm glad! I think this warm weather is messing with me. Too many temptations to face. Just when I'd whipped the winter ones too. Now I have to get tough again and beat these I guess.

Hi Guys...
I feel so bad, I definately abused my body this weekend. I ate SO poorly and I am up to 133 on the scale... of course thats not so bad, but I am up 8 pounds in one weekend... I know it's mostly water but I feel full of despair. I guess all of the stress with my niece feel sent me back into some old ways. My worst fears were confirmed; on Saturday night at 1:30 in the morning, I was called to the hospital my niece overdosed on concaine, was extremely intoxicated and had been smoking marijuana. Of course, the biggest issue was her OD. I hate to ramble... she ok (medically). At the hospotal, I have been chowing down on pastries and candies. I almost didn't log on on today, I am very upset with all of this but the truth is that I don't want to fall off track and binge all of my sucess away... Do you guys think I should reinduct? Just EFGT? I dunno, I hope you are all havinga good one.

Pink I'm glad you logged on today. I almost didn't either.... I wouldn't even weigh myself after my weekend. I didn't have the emotional stress you did though. Please give yourself a break!! That was a HUGE scare with your niece and she's so young.... I know you are worried sick!
Just remember you WILL feel better emotionally if you keep with your healthy eating. Sometimes we just need something 'in the moment' though and that's okay!! We're ALL human. I'm sure with lower carb you will drop back down in no time!! |

Pink: My goodness..Prayers and hugs are sent out to you..But, maybe she will go into rehab, now..She needs lots of professional help, I think..Does she have parents? Let's hope and pray things work out for her..
And, don't worry about the food..Good grief..Just get back on track today. I would DRINK lots of water..lots of water..and do a clean EFGT with no carby things..just veggies..(green ones)..Keep us posted, Pink.. Yes, Sandy, MK, and Lisa: This is a new day!!! The great thing about LCing is that is easy to start over.. ![]() |

Thank you for your support guys
Yes, thankfully she has wonderful parents... her dad (my big brother) is actually a surgeon at the hospital where she is being treated, so it was very surreal for us all. It really is one of those stories where you'd never expect it. But I suppose her good fortune of having access to cars, the family lakehouse (I should have called the police on her boyfriends when I caught them having a party there last month ) , and "allowance" (this si where I wish my brother and SIL would have reigned her in ) has moved too many things in to her young life. Mostly, I am enraged about her 23 yo "BF", I just can't believe the whole thingThanks again for your kind words Lisa and Carolyn, and I will keep you guys posted in terms of WOE... It is true that I need to take good care of myself right now, and nothing makes my body feel beter than LCing Last edited by pinkpetals; 03-26-2007 at 10:53 AM.. |

Hello everyone, newbie here. I think I'm getting the hang of this but I'd love it if some of you would post your typical menus. Today I had an egg with cream cheese, small patty of ground beef, some pretend mashed potatoes (cauliflower and sour cream) but....now what? More veggies for dinner? What do you do for the occasional sweet tooth? I've been doing Atkins and like it but I'd love to eat more veggies and still lose weight. Thanks in advance.

Pink...big hugs!
That is a lot to deal with. I say forgive yourself about your weekend eating and continue on with EFGT. Normally if I have a quick gain it comes off just as fast as long as I nip it in the bud quickly.Just glad to hear that your niece is alright, scary stuff! Everyone who had a hard time this weekend just dust yourself off and keep going. I had a hell of a time getting over my bad weekend last week, but you guys really pulled me through and I am thankful that I just kept plugging along because... I am sitting here wearing an old pair of Old Navy size 10 jeans that I have not been able to fit into in nearly 3 years! Last year this time I was a size 14 and more depressed than ever.I am nearly in tears, I am so happy I dont know what to do with myself. It just goes to prove if you dont give up you will get there! EFGT has been incredible!! I have only lost 9 official pounds but the inches are just melting off. I feel incredible right now...just wanted to share my good news!

Hi..
Pink: I feel so much better than your niece has competent parents who got a big wake-up call before something even more tragic happened to her..The ball is in their court now..Keep us posted..Ditching the 23 year old bf would be part of the "plan", too..grrrrrr.. Zan: Basically my meals are: 1 or 2 eggs/w cheese for breakfast or RR rolls with cream cheese..Coffee with cream. Lunch: chicken, tuna salad with lettuce, and cukes Dinner: some sort of meat, LC veggies and a salad Snack: SF hot chocolate with whipped cream SF jello with whipped cream I make a lot of different recipes from the Recipe thread, too.. You DEFINITELY can eat lots of good veggies on Barry's plan..He allows up to 60 carbs full of veggies..so don't skimp on them...but watch it.. Ya for you Summer..and your menus look fabulous!!! We love you, MK.. ![]() Lil miss: Have fun at the birthday party..Those little guys have so much fun... |

Summer you and I are almost exactly the same - stats wise!!
My goal weight is higher than yours though. Do you work out?? I can't remember... I do weight training and I'm fairly muscular. When I get down to 138 I look thin....nevertheless I'd LOVE to be 130 again!!! Haven't weighed that since high school. And, I wear a size 10 too! What size do you hope to be in at 130?? |

Great! Thanks for menu help. I actually ordered a download of the book but lost it! How did that happen? I mean it's one thing to lose a physical object but when you start losing downloads you're really deeply disorganized. The menus sound great and I'm looking forward to an increase in the green guys.

Hi Dharma!
I am not officially sure of my goal weight or size since its been awhile since I have felt at a 'good' size ya know. 3 years ago I weighed 130 pounds and wore a size 8 and sometimes a 6...that month my Dad died at 48 and I went into a horrible depression that resulted in a 45 pound gain in less than a year. The end of last summer I got serious at 172 pounds and a size 14.... I have a huge booty and thick thighs, my waist is usually smallish as well as my arms. My mom only weighs a few pounds less than me at the same height and is wearing a size 6! Not fair! I 'think' my goal size is an 8...not sure though. m-w & f I do a 90 minute powerwalk and 2 days a week I do a 30 minute toning with light weights and dancing thing. I could do more, but that schedule does not stress me out or anything and I am enjoying my long walks. Haha, was that a little more longwinded than I thought it would be! All my friends are major shorties so its nice to 'talk' to someone my heigth once in awhile.I was thinking of changing my goal weight to something in the 140's... |

Found my book. I thought I'd deleted it or something. Okay now it's time to study up. Pink....Sounds like you do what I do...eat when you're upset. Wouldn't it be great to be like those people who lose their appetite when they're nervous? How does that happen I wonder?

Pink, Sending lots of hugs for your family and I'll remember you all in my prayers too. Hang on and don't give up on yourself during this crisis. If nothing else, think of the example staying on an even keel will be to your niece. I'm a mother of 2 and a grandmother of 4 so I know that's a whole lot easier said than done, but at least it's a pretty good reason to stay in control of what "you can" control. I think sometimes people in crisis gain strength from people around them who are stable and strong. KWIM? Please, do not take this as any kind of criticism. It's not meant to be at all, ok? Hang in there.
I've had a pretty good day so far. 1 egg, 1/2 grapefruit, butter and 1/2 piece sourdough toast for breakfast. Sausage/pumpkin soup for lunch Shrimp scamp with sauteed spinach for dinner. And of course 3 does of OO interspersed throughout the day. I feel totally satisfied at the moment. It seems like a light food day for me. I did do my full body workout today too, plus a long walk with Bailey. I've been getting lots of compliments lately from different people. Maybe I really am looking good, ya think? I sure hope so, I've been working at this forever it seems. It's nice to get affirmation and encouragement once in a while from someone who doesn't love me.

Yes, Zan I did eat when I was upset.. the strangest thing is I was eating LESS (calorie wise) I am guessing than I normally do. I had my fiar share of sugar but a smaller quantity than i do on plan (which is 2000+ cals) so It just goes to show... the metabolic advantage is certainly there!
Sandy, thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. It is so ture that I need to respect my body and my health as we are all in encouraging my niece to do the same Some good news, after eating normally again today and drink my water I am at 130 this evening, so I feel back in control and relieved ![]() Today... B- Creamy coffee with an Activia Light with ground flax mixed in L- 2 eggs + 1 yolk scrambled with cheddar in butter and some steamed and buttered spinach S- cottage cheese with some sour cream mixed in and blueberries D- I'll have to go rustle something up ! |

Pink I have noticed that too...the weekend that i went a little nuts with the carbs I was nearly eating identical amounts of calories (from previous weekends)for those 3 days and it put my weight up 6 pouinds VS with the higher fat, lowcarb I would have maintained or lost.
That sold me right there! About a pound over siggy still but I have had some cramps since yesterday so that means... My size 10's fit when I was PMSing...Woohoo!!! I have to hold tight through Aunt Flo and i am going to be feeling like a million bucks! Have a fantastic day everyone! ![]() |

Ohh and since TOM is looming near I have decided to take Pinks advice and bring my carbs as low as possible and focus on fat and protein...hopeing this helps with the PMS, water weight gain and all the other fun stuff that comes with being a girl
I'll let you all know how it goes. |
